I still remember the first time I heard Steve Ray Vaughan. I was at my sister`s house near Dallas Texas and Pride and Joy boomed in on their big stereo on the Dallas radio station Q-102, Texas` best rock, and I was immediately floored by the sound I heard and asked in amazement: "WHO IS THAT???" It was a beautiful Spring day and I`ll never forget it. I remember it just as vividly as I do the morning I found out he died. I heard it on the radio in my truck after a drunken party when I went outside to light a cigarette from the truck lighter. I had to turn on the key and the radio came on and the news said his name.
I love what he had on in this interview. Too cool! He was so calm, laid back and soft spoken. Almost doesn't fit with the hurricane he was on his guitar. I just love him and miss him. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How refreshing for a musician who has seen the depths of despair, and beaten his old drug and booze demons and now speaks from his heart, and it hits you right on the spot, He is a great example to all those who take drugs and drink too much, that you can beat it, and become a better person, God bless his soul, He loves and respects his brother, and you can see his regret at missing out on all those early years when he was in his own world of drug induced haze, when he never appreciated his family ,and what he had, But couldn't see it, Much missed By many,But his music is all around me.
According to an itinerary, SRV & DT flew from New York to Frankfurt, Germany on August 20th, 1984. This interview took place in New York, and Stevie said that they were prepared to leave in an hour and a half to go perform at Rockpalast, which was on August 25th, 1984. So this interview can rightly be said that it took place on August 20, 1984. srvarchive.com/live/assets/images/cstw-leg4-germany-rockpalast1.jpg

SRV! Pepsi or Coke on tap? Thanks again.
New York August 1984
carnegie hall was filmed?? i wonder where those tapes are
From my understanding it wasn't filmed. It was discussed, but it never happened
CBS records didnt want to film it despite the band's efforts of custom staging and outfits
Unfortunately, it wasn't filmed due to budgetary issues. According to Chris Layton, it would have cost $15,000.
Unleash the Carnegie film please
In 80 my dad finished college
