You guys keep it real.. The travel content isn't as important as you'd think.. It's all about boat life, everyday stuff is really as good as anything.. I watch sailing channels that have 100's of thousands of subscribers and I enjoy your channel better.. Though I'm not into sailing, more about life on a motor boat.. Just keep making it real.. Thanks for the videos and I hope you keep them coming even if it's just another day in the life of living on a boat.. I look forward to more everyday life stuff.. It's all about the boat life to me..

Spot on. Just been to the Pacific NW and if I never see another fir tree it might be a bit too soon. The reels about the actual ship is often time more interesting so please don't feel that it all has to be about cruising.

Agreed, spot on. I’m not even familiar with any of these areas considering I’m from the north east of the states but I’m here just for the boat content even if it’s repeated visits to locations there’s always going to be something enjoyable to just watch about boating, could even do things like “how to” videos such as docking, or better ways to navigate. Just life experiences.

Everyday ‘boat chores’ and maintenance are still interesting to those of us who are always in “learning mode.” That content is just as interesting (and much more helpful) than travel and destination vids. I personally watch your channel for boat-related content - so keep that coming if you can!

It’s not so much about where you are? as the story you tell. I have been cruising the San Juan’s, Desolation Sound, Vancouver Island for 30 years, never get tired of it. You, Shawn and the pups are the story, where you are, is the back drop. More boat projects, gathering, catching, cooking, site seeing and friends you meet, more important than where you are! Rick Moore has been in San Andres for close to three years, never leaves, still interesting to watch. Keep it coming I will watch, (met you in Astoria’s west mooring basin last year during your trip to the Columbia River)

The two of you put on such as exceptionally well produced UA-cam shell, and I called a show because it really is entertainment that I sit down with, and watch with my partner. We are both on the selling side of the spectrum, but truly enjoy everything you offer. We watch your channel regularly because as people we are interested in other people. We are interested in what others think and and the things they are doing. I am sure making videos that have good content is a lot of work but don’t confuse that with why people watch your channel. Boat work is work and I am sure it is not so interesting to many who watch you as it is for some of us. But we can identify with who you are the things you have chosen to do plus it’s the blend of you all out there and with Shawn cutting up the Christmas Dino that makes for good stuff. We will be watching…..

With eight dams and navigation locks, you will need to do some research on waiting times, best days and month. I’ve done the first lock at Bonneville dam, and that area of the gorge is world class beautiful. I’ve driven and flown over the river all the way to Lewiston Idaho and think that while the Snake River is also beautiful, you can turn around at its mouth and not miss too much and shorten your trip by four dams.

Elizabeth & Shawn - I have been a subscriber to your channel but have never commented. Is there a compromise to be had here? Since outside/family/work issues are keeping you from venturing too far - could you do smaller week long trips south to Oregon and Northern California or north to Canada - that would keep you closer to home - but at the same time let you "test the waters" for a more ambitious adventure as well as generate compelling content for your subscribers? Elizabeth although you are certainly putting on a brave and positive face - the heartbreak and frustration in your eyes is evident. Want the best for you two!

I don't remember when I first subscribed to your channel. the last 2 1/2 yrs. has been a blur. Understandable with our current situation, I'm sure with the inflation and drop in the market, it has made it tough. I know it has for me, as I retired last year as a 40 year finish/marine carpenter. I have been to Todd Shipyard many times on cruise ship refits. Maybe you and Shaun can keep the channel running with tours of the Seattle area? I know that when I was there, we loved to go to Pikes Peak Market for all kinds of things while we worked drydock. Seattle and Peugeot Sound is so beautiful, you should do little day trips, when you can, about everything in the area. The first couple times I flew in to drydock, I was so impressed with SEATAC. although, that was a few years ago. Also, the fishing and commercial fishing in the area. Hope you keep your channel goig, I won't receive notification if your downloads drop. LOVE YOU GUYS!

I don't remember what made me find your videos... my husband and I just moved back to NH from Olympia. I grew up out there on Bainbridge, but without a boat it is really hard to get a full appriciation of the Puget Sound and Hood Canal. Your videos were a delightful window into the area and a welcome treat in response to some homesickness. It is also one of the most... sane, unpolitical, most upbeat channels I have found to be a welcome distraction from the mayhem of the current world. Throw in the fact I would love to live in a trailer, and my husband would live on a boat any day of the week and your channel was one of the VERY few channels my husband and I could enjoy together.
I for one would appreciate ANY content you two feel like creating. In the meanwhile, we have seven years to go enjoy a second or third time 😊
Best wishes to you both and your fur-babies.

I’ve followed you both for years…. I’ve owned stinkpots and sailboats. Largest motorboat was a Horizon 90’+ and the largest Sailboat was a World Class Cruising Vessel (Custom build) 80’+. Lived around the Pacific Northwest 95% of the time. Sailed to Hawaii from Vancouver back in the early 80’s. Sunk a very large sailboat by hitting a deadhead north of Friday Harbor. Hit it perfectly square and as we passed the differential buoyancy generated massive speed and the energy of that log blew through the side and popped a 3’ hole in her. Only took minutes to although we were always ready for the unexpected. Considering fuel prices here and abroad, considering what can happen in the open water…. [hate to say it] consider a large sailboat…. When traversing this planet…. They handle ruff seas much better and don’t act like a plumb-bob with multi-directional endless movements. I’ve loved both…. However after saying I would never go sailboat(?) I did for several reasons…. 3,000 gallon fill ups was the start of my transition motivation and the sailboat ended up being my absolute passion knowing the wind pushed me to anywhere I wanted to go.. for free….

Do a vid where you are anchored out in a storm overnight... November is coming up... that would be new exciting content!

You REALLY ought to go to the Gulf Islands this fall. It is so easy to cruise in Canada 🇨🇦. The people are so nice, the BC marine parks are beautiful and very well maintained. Some favorites are Tod Inlet and must visit Butchart Gardens, Princess Cove, Pirates Cove, Nanaimo.... and of course going through Dodd Narrows is a fun experience. And Montague Harbor where of course you have to take the bus to the Hummingbird Pub for a fun ride you will absolutely never forget. Did I forget to mention Ganges!! So much to explore there. I hope you give that cruising area a look see before leaving the PNW.

It's been 3 weeks or so. Time for another vid.
We're having awesome weather for early-mid October, right?
Surely, you've dropped a fishing line for a catch, clean and cook?
Taken some hikes along the shores of Puget Sound?
Taken the four-legged deck mates on some walks?
We're heading in to the wet/cooler weather season.
Get the cameras out, and start vlogging, right?
    Of course! ⚘👍⚘

I appreciate your candor. You guys do what you need to do.
I do enjoy your videos; including the technical stuff and really enjoy Shawn's descriptions and other explanations. Both of you are excellent narrators and you put together really well-done videos... quite talented and skilled you are.
Suggestions for longer trips would include Alaskan waters. Some longer than weekend trips could take you up the Columbia and the Snake Rivers..lots of interesting places and scenery up those. Those would take you and MV Freedom to central and Eastern Washington and perhaps near, or into Idaho. And depending on your draft, in the Portland area, you could navigate up the Willamette for a distance and catch some sights and interesting places. Looking forward to anything you post.
One thing you mentioned in a video some time back is that you don't really do any fishing. Having some equipment and skills could add more content to your videos and add to your culinary experiences as you cross oceans and visit new places.
