    My husband had a big thing about how to load the dishwasher. So he got to do it his way. I rinsed the dishes and he loaded. Worked for us for 25 years. He's been gone 11. We sure saved ourselves grief. And adored each other to the end.

    The black husband was insecure about his wife's accomplishments and tried to cut her down to size by criticizing her as a wife and mother. This was to make himself feel better bout his self-perceived professional mediocrity. Who knows, she probably belittled him about his professional ineptitude, compared to hers. But he was really trying to down her to make himself feel more like a man. He smirked when she spoke on how deep the motherhood comment stung her. Like he was savouring the moment all over again.

    Eric is simply extremely insecure that his wife is, by the world's standards, extremely successful so he tries to put her down so that he can feel better about himself.He needs to be reassured that he is still the man in this relationship and that he is the head of the family despite his wife's success.

      Yes! He’s not upset about how she loads the dishwasher, he’s hurt that she doesn’t do it the way he says she should, because in his eyes, that translates to: “she doesn’t value my advice or opinion”. But when you’re constantly criticizing someone, they shut down and don’t even want to listen to you anymore.

    Imagine how these couples would feel if after insulting and screaming at each other, one of them walked out the door and got into a car accident or something? How would they feel if that person died and the last thing you said to them was something awful and hurtful? I make sure that every time I leave the house I tell my husband, “I love you” because you never know what might happen.

    • @drawingdownlaluna
      @drawingdownlaluna 3 роки тому +2

      That actually happened to a friend of ours, he got into a fight with his pregnant fiancé and she got into the car to leave and 3 miles down the road she crashed speeding head on into an electrical pole and was killed. About 6 years later he had a massive heart attack in the car on the way home from work and died, he was only 39, I don’t think he ever spiritually recovered.

    The 3rd couple can frame the doily, in a nice frame, and hang it, on a wall, in the dining area. A small picture of the woman, who crochet the doily, can be added either in the frame next to the doily or in a separate matching frame hanging next to the framed doily.
    It would make a great conversational piece, it would look very nice, and it would illuminate some arguments.
