From thanam to krithi explosive. And akkarai ma'am. Just salute. Your violin and your smile. Hare krishna and mridangam and ganjira they are a world and words unto themselves. Beautiful
Absolutely blissful. His renderings of raagaas and Keerthanas emphasize the fact that music should touch the listeners heart... And he does it with elan
What a glorious presentation by the genius TMK! Apart from his mastery what appeals is how he elevates the performance of accompanists both by verbal and non verbal encouragement- in that sense he not only sings but also conducts the kutcheri! Truly a great artist🙏💐
Apart from the obvious musicality and deep reverence for the work, I love the relational aspect of these performances. Mastery in generosity - giving and receiving, listening and responding, supporting and shining - a metaphor for how we should conduct all our relationships. simply beautiful. The humility is noted and appreciated. 🤩✨
The Rendition of this piece of Thyagaraja"s krithi is not only exilirating but wonderfully JOYFULL. The praise equally goes to all the Artists who performed/supported the recital. Hats off to TM Krishna & his co-artists.
Akkarai Subbulaxmi has a brilliantly adaptable touch/style of violin playing and a vastly superior technique to track and follow T M Ks free spirited singing with such ease.Hats off to her for doing this with such a pleasant smile too.!
@Shreyas K I adore RKS, he is awesome. But, I prefer Akkarai with TMK. There is something soothing about the way Violin sound blends with his voice. Maybe it is me, but I feel her bowing way is different and mimics the vocalist better.
Hats off to this extremely TALENTED violinist Subhalakshmi to catch and repeat EACH NOTE of the Singer. Amply blessed by SANGEETA DEVATA. MAY DEVI SARASWATI SHOWER HER BLESSINGS.
Absolutely mesmerizing performance. One could easily get addicted to TMK;s magical singing without knowing anything about Karnatik Classical Music. It gets under one's skin and one gets transported to a state of trance.
I always admire tnk. Very devoted rendering.Bhava Bhakthi all are present in such a way that listeners are immersed in Bhakthi Margam. Kudos to entire team.
Watch at 9:05 , watch Sri T M K giving a be ready signal to Sri Praveen Sparsh a few seconds before the start of the kriti , watch the reaction on the faces of the accompanying artistes .
Beautiful!! As yet, I know about 0.000001% (or probably less) about classical Indian music, so please pardon my ignorance... Is this Southern classical?
That's correct. It's called Carnatic music. A quick way to identify if it is Hindustani (Indian classical music practiced in the North & Central India) or Carnatic, just by looking at the artists on stage is to see what instruments the accompanying artists are playing. If it is violin and mridangam (horizontal drum), then it is Carnatic music. If they are accompanying with a Harmonium & Tabla (pair of drums), it will most likely be Hindustani music.
It appears that the vocalist has tried to bring in the unpredictability like in Hindustani vocalists without disrupting the laya structure of Karnatik. Best of Luck to the vocalist Pundit ,& accompanying artists. Late Pt BMK use to take the accompanying artists for a ride with his unpredictable singing which used to appear100% shashtreeya. Thx for sharing
Guru enjoying his sisya's ( upcoming ,getting fame in her field) talent and she too, welcomes the same Now a days , She along with her sister, started Vocal , reasinably good performances ..
The acoustics are very excellent, as t.m.krishna the man of melody in recent times sings well he is mesmerizing us as well as he does ,so please give him a collar mike so that his voice won't be minimized while he goes far back and turning in the sides. please take care for that. Thank you.
Overlook TMK’s murky political ideology just like we never bothered about Balamurali & Mali’s Leelas. I enjoyed this slow paced piece quite in contrast to fast recitals of other Vidwans. Refreshing change to my mind.
S Baskaran nothing murky about his political ideology. The man says it like it is and challenges status quo. Some obviously have trouble confronting the truth.
u r a music monster.... definitely all ur foreparents blessings flow thro ur voice for us to enjoy ...May God bless u a long and healthy life.. pl take hot water always...
Yrs indeed... aren't we blessed to get to hear such performances n be able to enjoy them? Thks to technology othetwise ppl like me wd nvr hear such singers..I had once seen him in jaya tv long ago
AKKARAI Subbalakshmi reminds me of the sublime violin of Lalgudi,TNK and MSG .Her smiles and stage presence are great and her invovolvement is so spiritual. The Carnatic world will be hard pressed to search for an Award bigger than Sangitha Kalanidhi for her.TMK is not at his best in the ragamTalam pallavi. That is not his forte I guess.
From thanam to krithi explosive. And akkarai ma'am. Just salute. Your violin and your smile. Hare krishna and mridangam and ganjira they are a world and words unto themselves. Beautiful
9:04 That's why he is TMK..seamless, perfect transition.
I don't know much about Carnatic music, but I have heard this rendition of Makelara 100 times now. Such an apt song in the days of the coronavirus.
Absolutely blissful. His renderings of raagaas and Keerthanas emphasize the fact that music should touch the listeners heart... And he does it with elan
Really great combination, see how he encourages others

Beautiful, wonderful, out of world. What a bliss!
That blush on your face when he switches from Tanam to Kriti(9:05).. Thats a magic..
Oh boy, that was such a lovely release in the head.

TMK's sense of rhythm is simply magical, especially when rendering kalpanaswarams.

That transition from Tanam to Kriti!
Speechless at the amazing rendition . Been watching this at least 5 times in a day and it never fails to bring joy in me . Bless you all
Superb exposition of the raaga, taanam & pallavi. ( RTP). The slow tempo adds to the beauty & grandeur of the kirtana.
A pleasure both to watch and listen. Watching artists mutually admiring and encouraging AND enjoying the rendition of song!
Krishna ur anantha drushti about raga is seen. Very nice baba, a master piece
A violinist should also expect unexpected in a concert. ..TMK has unexpected transformations..very beautiful..
And thanks to TMK for giving the violinist so much time and freedom. Subhalakshmi was playing like a great veteran.
Superb rendering. Excellent combination of co-artists. Akkarai Subalakshmy plays in unison taking the music yo next level
Really amazing rendition of Ravi Chandrika raga. No comparison in exploring the minute sangathees and possibilities of raga and kriti
Only Akkarai SubbaLakshmi can play violin with this unpredictable singer ,

@@warpa2007 Absolutely ! I also feel that....
champaka Ramachandran I admire rmk very experienced and humble .one of the best .akkarai also good though
their on stage chemistry is simply out of the world. finest artiste maketh a symphony

Excellent camera angles and superb editing!!
Pleasent to ear and the mind. #Sri TMK team. Violinist was exceptional
Excellent rendition, TMK , you are really great. Akkarai is supporting with admiration.
Great gift man, holds the raga in his control as he walks with it.
ice-walks.
Makelara, with a delightful and Soul filling and enjoyable Kala Pramanam.
PRAVEEN on MRIDANGAM & PURUSHOTMKAMATM ON KANJIRA PLAYED WELL. They were sober as well as best tuned to as accompanies.KUDOS to these young men.
Watch at 9:05 , watch Sri T M K giving a be ready signal to Sri Praveen Sparsh a few seconds before the start of the kriti , watch the reaction on the faces of the accompanying artistes .
Addictive for sure every concert of tmk sir
looks like Shri TMK surprised himself when he sang the kalpanaswaram at 18:24 (reaction at 18:30)!
He sang 'Dha Ni Sa' whereas the arohanam is Sa Re Ga Ma Dha Sa. He realized it and immediately corrects it in the second repetition.
It looks like he took some phrases from khamaas
Arohanam is Sa Ri Ga Ma Ni Dha Sa and avarohanam is Sa Ni Dha Ma Ga Ri Sa
M N D M N 'D N S' N D M. D N S was not supposed to have been used since the Arohanam and Avarohanam does not allow it, I think.
Beautiful improvisations..loved it..
Stunning musical rendering from TMK and all artists
What an amazing rendition.. stunned
Travelling in the breezing ragha...Excellent... Sri Sri Krishna ji...am cried....
Transition from Thanam to Make Lara is brilliant.
what an experience! Reminds of Hundustani raaga Madhu Ranjani?
It is called day a Udaya Ravi chandrica in Carnatic,
A visual and audible feast ----
no words to express thanks to this living legend...
From 8:56 to 9:04... No one can not smile at that!
Exceptional rendition of thanam also
TMK and Akkarai SubbaLakshmi on stage musical chemistry is a treat.
Praveen rockz with his mridangam
He always does

14:18 to 14:45 was the most calm, simple yet intriguing construction of swaras!

As long as Tamilnadu state exists Carnatic music and St Tyagaraja kritis live

Thanks.
I think there is some audibility problem. Can it be improved ? With warm regards, Narasimhan.

Coming from a musicians family I profoundly enjoyed the concert. Thank who has gifted a gem like tmk to the world of music!
nice !
Ganjira seems a little low.. :(
True, the volume is a little too low
TMK is awesome.
Akkarai Subhalakshmi is fabulous and Bhargavi Venkatram is cute😊😅
I just noticed Bhargavi after seeing your comment. Maybe I am too concentrated on the music. Especially mridangam
Bhargavi!!
That smile on Bhargavi's face when tmk jumps from tanam to kriti.
