I’m not sure if he feels anything emotionally towards traditional compositions in praise of Indian deities, for he denounces the Vedas. Could be sheer music moving him, for the silence between phrases is always more beautiful.
2:36 Those 'Kanja's are the Ganja for me!!.. Feeling elevated.. above the clouds or something like that.. can't say🙇.. Humbling experience listening to this video 🙇🙇🙏
He completely shatters the common notion of Carnatic music lacking creativity. A wonderful rendition which is rendered from the heart of the musician. Akkarai, along with Praveen and Purushotham, elevates it even to a higher level.
The Serenity and the mood created by TMK in his singing this evergreen Bhajan carries you to a different world. I am reminded of his singing of the Yamuna Kalyani Raga composition of Dikshithar 'Jambhu Pathe' which stays with you long after he has finished singing the Composition.
Saintly .. Thanks TMK for years of amazing rendition. He deserves a padma award for musical contribution. Hopefully government doesn't look at personal/political inclinations and show a bigger heart.
Didn't even know his political inclinations before this comment. I tried to search his talks they are self contradictory at times... can you tell what his political views are?
All the artists on the stage are capable of captivating audience and asserting their expertise.. especially Akkarai madam. But there was only one master in this performance!
No no ....One cannot avoid the surroundings , especially such a professional singer cannot .. He is rendering at its best ....He is soo sincere ....The supporting violinist also like him ......🙏🙏
It is easy to realise the krithi through actions and expressions only . There is no need the audio if the concert is by tmk....i have a doubt what does he think in each silence .....
What a lovely improvisation. ......I don't know the technicalities. .....raag. .tala. ..but ...but..I feel the real pleasure, happiness. .cannot express what is going on while hearing his rendition. ..
Beautiful singing! And beautiful camera work and editing! Thank you First Edition Arts for bringing us these videos. Just a question, when is the next TM Krishna recording being uploaded? Thanks again
Thank you Shreyas Gowrishanker for your kind words of appreciation. There are still some concert videos featuring TM Krishna that are in the pipeline that will be released within a month hopefully, keeping in mind videos with other artistes who have been featured in our recent programmes that also need to be released on our channel. So watch this space. Or click on the bell icon (if you haven't already) to be notified whenever a new video from FEA is uploaded.
I certainly have respect for his music but certainly not for his political comments. He tends to make negative comments against Hindus because they are an easy target. Listening to him one would think that other Religions have no problems at all
@@sivaramanvaratharajan623 it occurs sporadically throughout his performance; I would have to go through the entire performance again and stop and record the timing of every occurrence; there would be way too many. Of course, it is my "opinion" in the sense that my ear picks it up. It may not sound that way to others.
@@anindochoudhury8926 You have raised a very interesting point. From your name, I would think that as a North Indian, you are probably borrowing from your experience with Hindustani music as you listen to this. The thing is that Carnatic music is inherently more microtonal than Hindustani music. Make no mistake, microtonal does not mean that you can sing any thing. The pitch is still incredibly accurate and for me (a Carnatic Listener), I have come across several cases where I can easily tell a pitch is wrong if it is off by even a fraction of a note. However in the above performance there are absolutely no instances of that happening. When I attempt to sing this, I attempt to copy all of the microtonal flourishes that I hear because they are just so beautiful. If you listen to the violin carefully you'll hear her repeating exactly what has been sung. The fact that you find so many instances of it being out of tune is that you are subconsciously attempting to fit this performance into your framework for Hindustani music. My suggestion would be to give this a few more chances until you warm up to the art style. I promise you the reward is worth the effort.
@@arjun_ragafanatic Thanks for that very thoughtful response. You are absolutely on point that I grew up in the 'Hindustani' tradition of classical vocal. And I agree that it is easy (and common) for people of that tradition to mistake microtones as 'besura' (out of tune). I will defer to your more trained ear with regard to TM Krishna, but I will add that I have listened for years to M. Balamuralikrishna and I have never felt the same way about his singing as I do about TM Krishna. For example, when I listen to a melodious raaga like Hamsadhwani (the Carnatic (original) , I am never 'bothered' by BMK's microtones as I am by TMK's.
When TMK got overwhelmed with emotion, Praveen masterfully filled the space up to ensure the mood did not get disrupted! 3:17
good observation!

Exactly
Kanja is not ganja it means a lotus.. Tulsidas uses the Lotus to describe Sri Rama in this stuti

Amazing singing of a great song. But the recording volume is VERY LOW.
Initially - almost inaudible. Picked up later
It really helps if you listen with earphones. Do give it a go!
Lovely
Wow. Nothing else to say
Can anyone please post the krithis he sang in lady andal school Chennai on the dec29th?
Yes
❤️🔥
T M Krishna is pronouncing Kripalu incorrectly. Word is क्रिपालु. Hindi no longer has the second ल, same as Sanskrit

He is not pronouncing खलदल correctly either. He is pronouncing it as कलदल
what a pretty face, Ms Subbu
He sins so well. why does he act like drunk?
Too slow. Getting deliberately slower, concert after concert.
A lot of expression and hand and body movement, but poor control over swar and sur. Consequently he is often out of tune. And his voice is not great.
Sure you are entitled to your own opinion. This gentleman, however, is great and I am not coloured by your opinion.
Can you quote which place he went out of tune/raga?
