all digimon TRI its bullshit
The sexy woman offering Matt a ride in her sportscar
You forgot Myotismon acting like actual Dracula were he seduced and then actually fed on human women, at best putting them in comas but at worst leaving them for dead in the streets of Tokyo.
Oh yeah, they didn't try to hide that, just went all out with that.
That scene still scares me.
In the novel they’re actually drained and look like they died of old age 😬👵🏻💀
Myotismon is more vampire than edward from twilight
@@michaelbarrett8141That's not a high bar
*Me getting nostalgic about Digimon in my adulthood:* “This’ll be fun like I remember.”
*first episode back:* Matt and TK are brothers from a divorced household, Izzy’s parents adopted him, but they don’t know he knows”
*Me:* “WAS IT ALWAYS LIKE THIS?!”
The fact that they didn’t put that part in about Izzy’s parents being dead and he was adopted was kinda shameful
Wasn't joe's parents mentally abusive towards him, I kinda remember him nit really getting recognition that his brother does or something along those lines
@@zenos02 Yeah, but I wouldn't call it abuse, sadly younger brothers won't agree with me on this. It is natural for parents to compare brothers when in comes to education. It isn't right, of course, but hardly impossible to avoid. My little brother faced that when all of his teachers complained that he wasn't like me when it comes to studies. My parents never abuse it, but it is nearly impossible for the younger brother not to resent that, even if it was unintentional or done as a motivation for him.
@@drakewiz yeah but I kinda remember that the way his parents treated Joe lead to all the social insecurities he had
@@zenos02 no more like high expectations
Digimon adventure TRI was made for the adult fans that grew up to the original. That's why it was more adult.
Gennai creeping on the girls never actually went anywhere though.
I mean his entire character never really went anywhere, but that aspect in particular only existed for shock value.
@@the_echoYT exactly what I was gonna say, TRI isn't "adult" it's just edgy (and poorly written).
It’s also not very good

Yeah i myself grew up watching the show before I started 5th grade and i still remember running home everyday after school just to watch it before going to my karate lessons
Explains to me how Joe's hotspring time is higher up than a man fotcing a child to choose between his friend or his sisters life
How is it above dark jenai licking sora
Because nanimon
@@duketaco92 Just be glad that Dark Genai didn't go to town with Sora any. Unless you wanted to see that.
Or in Adventure 02 where Ken made Davis choose which of his friend's live.
And how is Gabumon's crucification not even mentioned? It should be at least number 3 lol
No mention of Wizardmon's death? Disappointing. That moment was heartbreaking as a kid.
that didnt cross the line. it was sad but perfectly appropriate
That was more shocking and heartbreaking then crossing the line
Imagine Wizardmon digivolved to Beelzemon Blast Mode and CORONA DESTROYER THIS CORONAVIRUS GUY (Apolcamon, not Coronamon, Lunamon's brother and Cosmog's friend) WHO ATE STUFFED CRUST INSTEAD OF EATING A WHOLE PIZZA!!!
Actually if you reed all manga series you'd find that gatomon managed to bring him back after many years of serching for his remins data between worlds.
Tip: Digimon Xwars - manga. Cause manga and Xwars series are... almost completly diferent (or Digimon fusion, its other name)
OH GOD I CRIED
In Digimon Adventure 02, when MaloMyotismon tortures and kills Arukenimon and Mummymon, is also a messed up moment
Seeing Digimon being relevant again and Watch MOJO making videos of them warms my soul
Yessss 😍

Listen. The only reason Digimon crossed these lines is because it knows how mature its audience is.

Imo, the episode where Rika is stalked by basically a Digimon serial killer (Icedevimon) and he tries making her his partner, even if it means killing her actual partner, was pretty disturbing.
I was actually expecting the death of Arukenimon and Mummymon by the hands of MaloMyotismon. That scene gave me anxiety when I was 10 yrs old
Lol I just commented this. I remember being very uneasy after that episode aired.
@@migster3929 Lol! I don't own any copyright for any similar thoughts in mind so feel free to comment it as well. At least I still feel normal after seeing that scene knowing that you have the same sentiments.

Ah, Meicoomon. Winner of the "Most Vicious Death of a Leomon" Award.
And this is why Digimon is my all time favorite cartoon!!!! It was not afraid to get dark and deal with very mature themes.

Not announcing The release date of Digimon Survive is crossing the line
So I am not the only one waiting? Thank god!! I seriously hope Bandai gets their sh*t together... I am hoping it comes out this year...
It's still not out yet?!, but mostly hoping it comes to the U.S. when released.
@@kuwoo The game was originally due in 2019. Then delayed to 2020. And finally, a Twitter post last October promised an update on Survive’s development in Spring of 2021. Still haven’t gotten it. Last I checked, the title was coming to the U.S. on all 8th generation consoles along with PC. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if the project ends up like Scalebound. Not that I want such a thing to happen either.
I was looking for this comment, your speaking for the crowd
wait, there is another Digimon coming soon? but Adventure is still on going.. wait .. its about to end isn't it ? :( oh well, I should probably go and catch up on it, before the Digimon comes around
No one remembers Arukenimon's death scene? That made me cry as a kid.
She was evil, so it didn't phase me.
The sadistic way Dark Masters meet their doom:
-Metalseadramon: his body got screwed and cut in half
-Puppetmon: got freezed to death while having existential crisis
-Machinedramon: got sliced to pieces
-Piedmon: Bombarded by all digidestined digimon, and litterally got sent to hell
Had to add a little bit on MetalSeadramon: his body got screwed and cut in half... "LENGTHWISE" Lol!
They never crossed the Line because it isn't just a Kids Show
I'm happy about these Scenes
Digimon was just a more mature kids anime than most, these were the things that separated and made it special for me
Ashley: "do we need to see Zoe changing into different swimsuits, and modeling?"
Kid me: YES!!!
Well… as a naive kid who’s discovering new things back then, I’d wished to see more and even drew some kiddy pictures based on that scene. And from what I learned, I’ll have to make sure no children should watch the kin of scene.

Infinity times yes
@@christopherfreitas-leonard7099 Just don't let kids watch any anime and you will be okay. Anime was made for teenagers and adults.
Because kids never go to the beach...
How about the other change to the "Hitch Hiking" scene where Matt tries and an older Woman shows interest in him? Or that time Jeri attempted suicide while being held hostage by the D-Reaper?
Shows that aren’t afraid to reach these levels of darkness are healthy I watched the first 3 season of the show on Netflix when I was ten and I wasn’t scarred or anything
A kid's show that teaches life lessons while being smart, fun, exciting and scary, is the perfect kid's show. Digimon is the kind of anime that doesn't talk down to its audience (unless it's dubbed and edited by studios like 4Kids).
thankfully it wasn't dubbed by 4Kids
And gives you a big superiority complex
@@Scalesthelizardwizard3399 one piece and dbz fans know this pain of being dubbed by 4kids
being mature doesnt mean being awful
Exactly that's why Digimon is my favorite cartoon/anime ever growing up because it deal with life lessons and it was fun and serious at the same time.
Still a better Kid's show than modern Cartoon Network showing
True that tbh
Yea, messed up as it is, any and every Digimon series out ranks any current CN program.
Big Time is no comparison today's cartoons shows are wayyyyyy too soft due to pc/cancel culture completely took over and today's cartoons don't deal with reality is wayyyyyyyy too overly positive and fake to me to watch I cannot relate to it at all.
At number 5... Seriously? Blaming Meicoomon for something she literally couldn't control? Instead of... You know... The actual orchestrators of what happened? Maki? Homeostasis? Dark gennai?
For me, one moment that disturbed me in my youth was when Myotismon hypnotized and bit a young woman. Afterwards, he takes off and it shows her collapsed on the ground with bite marks on her neck.
Wait when did that happen i don't remember
@@griffingower1883 It's the opening scene from the episode, Gatomon Comes Calling.
Well at least he is more vampire then Edward
The episode where Owikawa kidnaps Ken, extracts his dark spore, then implants it into other kidnapped children always put me on edge
"crossing the line" seems to be an all over the place concept, like you could go with most violent, dark, inappropriate, or adult but sexual moments and divide it up for more content. And all of those fit with Digimon. Heck even most censored moments, a few where here but post 9/11 they put the boot down on Digimon including some re-aired episodes.
to be fair, the Digimon tamer's Juri's nightmare was what really cemented Digimon franchise as a favorite as a kid,
it was the first time I saw something like that, and honestly? it felt real.
I gained humility by watching a kid go through grief in a kid's show, and made me more aware of friends and family who had lost loved ones and to treat them with better understanding.
I may be the odd one out, but I prefer kids show to Truly teach life lessons, and not just be sparkling and sugar coating everything. and occasionally some dark traumatizing things needs to be shown, so the lesson sticks forever
That part in the original series with pumpkinmon did hit hard as a kid I cried. I felt Matt's pain afterwards
I loved all the mature stuff in this show when I was a kid. It was cool and honestly at 10 years old I could handle it just fine.
Same here , Zoe changing really took the cake and made me hit puberty pretty fast
So you dont know that hikari loves her brother in a incest way?... confirmed by the staff

even i was messed up Jeri losing Leomon, like damn losing your Digimon like that is a bit much, that's like killing Ash's Pikachu in Pokemon... oh...
I remember trying to hype up Data Squad to friends of mine who had only watched the first two or three seasons... "It starts off silly, but hear me out: Digimon genocide is a plot point! It's dark!" "*Not taken seriously.*"
Genocide in a specific area
first time leo mon died.
even his rival was crying.
or when angemon ''died''
Ash: Digimon is DARK AF!
Fans: and that is what we love about it, now you go back to your Pokemon.

one scene i felt digimon crossed the line was kouichi's second "death" in digimon frontier. come on, the poor boy had enough to go through, his grandma's death, the fact he had a twin brother that he never knew, he basically died by falling down stairs chasing after him, his spirit goes to the digital world and gets corrupted by cherubimon and turned into duskmon, not to mention the royal bastards had fun taunting him about the fact he's a spirit, but lucemon killing kouichi after saving everyone from death, that's where it crossed the line. sure he came back to life in the end and i'm so grateful for it, but that, that was TOTALLY when digimon crossed the line for me =3=
The fact digimon was daring to go to these lenghts (I admit sometimes unnecessary, like Gennai licking Sora) was why I liked it over the Pokemon anime, of course that and the fact it had an actual story that changed each season, with Tamers being my personal favourite.
I want pokemon to show death, and more complex themes like childhood trauma, it doesn't have to be brutal or visually gory, it can even be done off screen for all I care, like you just watching the shadows of it happening.
Yes it's a kids show, but it's the best way to teach a kid about loss at a young age, some have to actually deal with it.
As for the fan service, I mean it isn't necessary but as a young preteen I'm not going to lie saying I didn't like them, watching now as an adult of course its weird, (let us not forget the age of consent in Japan is 14, and the target audience of Digimon is anywhere between like 8~15 ish given its content)
Tri is a special case where it was mostly made for those that grew up watching Digimon Adventure, and same thing in Last Evolution Kizuna (the latter was way better tho)
Tri was.... a mess... the Sora scene was awkward for everyone.
In Last Evolution tho (Mild Spoilers BTW) scenes like Agumon finding Tai's hidden porn stash were hilarious given he is an adult in college at that point, and once again, it was directed at people like me who grew up watching Digimon, a comedic yet realistic way of showing that the characters we knew were a lot older now
I'm a simple guy, I see Digimon I click
Nobody gonna talk about the Dark Ocean here?
The place alone already made it creepy in the English dub!
What those Scubamon said in the original version, about planning to mate with Kari to create powerful offspring, that alone is more than enough reason for me to put the Dark Ocean in the top 5!!
That storyline got dropped for a reason!
That was the Japanese plot and to be fair that wasn't the reason the plotline was dropped, it was dropped because 02's writing staff were a revolving door which ended in disconnected plotlines like Daemon showing up and leaving out of nowhere. It was a cool story though... Dragomon is scary.
The one scene that haunted me as a kid was when MaloMyotismon killed Arukenimon.
The whole sequence with Jerry's nightmares and her flashbacks along with that creepy Digimon virus thing that fed off of her fear and sorrow was so bizarre and terrifying to me as a 7-year-old watching it. I wouldn't so much say that it went too far, but it definitely got very dark.
Wow. Who knew an anime about digital monsters could have such messed up moments
I remember all these growing up
What I love about digimon or anime genre is that push beyond what is considered kiddy content
Wow... Y'all ignoring appmon's literal data grinder where they turned humans through A DIGITAL MEAT GRINDER INTO DATA WITH SCREAMS IN TACT?
My most favorite cartoon, it. Needs to. Make a comeback
It already has. We’ve got Digimon Adventure 2020, remember?
I watched the original Digimon when I was a kid, and too me it was the bomb.
The Digital world reset, rather, HerculesKabuterimon's sacrifice, is quite possibly one of the saddest moments in Digimon history.
Thats the sad beauty of digimon, alot of death and heavy choices that will effect digi-destin. Making them morw human

Really disappointed that Wizardmons death wasn’t on the list
Digimon doesn’t cross the line, they let children have a more mature and serious content.
what most kids, at least then, enjoyed
I love this more than a certain show where the characters dont age
I can add the human grinder/ blender scene from Digimon Universe to the list. Holy cow, that was scary and their screams really made it dark. I can also add the time Lilithmon gaves us a scene to be remember as well as the GattaiLilithmon Xros.
Man Jeri’s trauma was the most fked up thing ive seen watching from the series, but it probably have to do with the tamers on a different storyline from the 1st and 2nd season that shares the same storyline, like tamers just felt too different from the 1st 2 seasons even from the first few episodes of tamers

Digimon Tamers Leomon's Death & Jeri's Trauma that followed. Darkest Moments of this Franchise.
Heck, everything from that point on in Tamers was one giant Dragonball-length Dark period, including the potential TWO counts of Genocide that was occuring.
I figured that 1 or 2 of the crossing the line is in the X-Evolution movie, like Andromon walking with a claw in his chest.
On an unrelated note Was that Barbara Goodson playing DarkLizardmon? It sounded just like Rita Repulsa!
I had to check when I heard it, and yep! That was Barbara Goodson!
This franchise always seemed to market itself for maturer audiences, even by dub standards. This is why I always appreciated it more than other monster-centric ones. So many keep comparing it as a ripoff to Pokémon, even to this day. The two things have nothing in common aside from having the same amount of syllables and ending in the same three letters. That’s it. Digimon didn’t steal anything.
And at the very least; Digimon never had any dubbed episodes banned, was not criticized by religious fundamentalists (as far as I know), showed expressions of racism like the fascist salute or Hitler’s mustache, encouraged IRL Michael Vick behavior or dealt with pedophilia. Even if the age of consent in Japan is only 13, it’s still pushing too many boundaries. People need to just separate these two things like they should be.
When you ask me people who still think digimon is a ripoff are pretty stupid i mean thats the same people who say pokemon did monster taming first no it was shin megami tensei and when you compare it to pokemon nothing seems similiar but digimon even said that they got inspired by smt there are a few similiar things like both are darker and sinister then you have fanservice with attractive women demons or some digimon and smt demons and digimon have special moves who make them unique so i dont get how stupid people must be over 20 years still thinking that digimon is a ripoff and yeah they are stupid because any person with some brain or curiosity would look what the first monster taming game was
@@michaelbarrett8141 Yeah, exactly. I'm mostly convinced those who use the "ripoff" excuse are simply looking for an excuse to hate on the Digimon franchise. It would be no different by saying Star Trek influenced Star Wars, or vice versa.

Autopsy refers to the process of "a postmortem examination to discover the cause of death or the extent of disease." You can't "autopsy" someone who's alive. That's just torture and experimentation.
I remember as a kid digimon briefly became more popular than Pokémon. It was in the late 90s or early 2000s. But Pokémon continued to reinvent itself and stay relevant.

As long as they saved the digital world. All is forgiven.
If this were made today, Ghost Game probably would have been the majority of the list. Digital assassins, car races to the literal death, and Aurkenimon eating people's heads. Especially the new one where a yandere-like mon literally tries to become human by hurting itself and eventually committing suicide.
Digimon Ghost Game is pretty damn dark for a kids show.
