- An Iceberg is a creation storming the internet testing how much you really know about a particular things through it's layering system. In this video, we take this system to go through some trivia and fan theories in the Digimon
franchise starting from the surface level of the Digimon Iceberg and going all the way down to the deep dark depths of the Digimon Iceberg. How much do you know about Digimon? How much do you want to know about Digimon? All of this and more will be answered as we take you through the Digimon Iceberg.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this, but in the Japanese continuity, Mimi was in New York during the 9/11 attacks.
"Digimon Adventure Original Story 2-nen Han no Kyuka" is a CD audio drama that explains what each DigiDestined was doing between the events of Adventure 01 and Adventure 02. Mimi's entry, titled "September 2001 - Video Mail", starts with Mimi explaining how she and her family moved to New York because of a business trip her father had to take. As Mimi was explaining more about her school, she hears an explosion and then silence. Later, Mimi recalls how after the towers fell, she ran to the Ground Zero site to look for survivors, only to find kids and their Digimon partners already going through the rubble. She helps out, finding and pulling out survivors, until the number of adults arriving to the site grew. Fearing that they would see their Digimon, the group breaks up. The entry ends with Mimi mentioning how she knows she'll see those kids again someday, and leaves with her mom to cook for the first responders.
Never heard this 10/10 having grown up with and through both this is extremely under appreciated. Time to google deep dive the stuff I've missed 😆 thank you!
The 2020 Digimon TCG likes to make references to the lore of Digimon and other trivia surrounding it, some of which are a couple of points in this video:
-The BT5 printing of ChaosGallantmon's art has Megidramon looming in the background, while the EX2 printing of Megidramon has the ability of "This card/Digimon is also treated as [ChaosGallantmon]".
-The BT9 printing of Gaioumon has the alternative evolution method of evolving the card on top of a BWGreymon for a cheaper cost, a trait shared by all X-Antibody Digimon cards. In addition to this, Gaioumon is considered a natural X-Antibody carrier.
20 something years ago, my friends talked so much crap on the original PS1 Digimon World game. Now they're all trying to find copies of it.

The "garurugreymon" part is not entirely correct. Omegamon was originally called Garurugreymon in its original debut, Digimon tamers: Anode/Cathode tamer, not Our war game as commonly believed. That's just a reference to the placeholder name.
So I found that during my research but the problem with that was that people said that the evidence surrounding it was just not there and it was more speculation. Maybe I should have included that rather than the point about Nokia but because of that fact, I was pretty hesitant to put it in there. Thanks for letting me know though :)

@@theonewhoismany8072 I’m pretty sure omegamon was in v tamers after the digimenatal chapter and that means that digimon adventure 02 was already airing in Japan.
I think Digimon Jintrix is so low in the iceberg because of its artists. Apparently, most of the cards artists made extreme hentai doujinshis, which would explain why several Digimon are 'sexualized' in Jintrix card artwork

My only criticism of this video is that "Digivices are cages" I'm very sure is referring to the design of the first V-pets but your explanation is more interesting anyways
That's the only thing I could find when I tried to dig up the info about the claim because things about digimon are actually pretty hard to find rip. I didn't know a lot of these myself honestly when I made the video and I've been a fan since I was 3 haha oh also thnaks for stopping by! Really appreciate it :D
About the Purgatory theory:
The 4 dark masters are based on the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse.
in the order which they were defeated in the show starting with MetalSeadramon.
1-MetalSeadramon represents the White Horseman of the Apocalypse known as Conquest.
I believe MetalSeadramon is Conquest due to him conquering then ruling over the entire sea of the Digital World.
2-Puppetmon which I believe represents the Black Horseman of the Apocalypse known as Famine who has the ability to create famine through controlling food supplies. I know Puppetmon doesn’t control food supplies, but he does have the power to control other Digimon’s physical states and forces them to do his bidding.
3-Machinedramon who best represents the Red Horseman of the Apocalypse War. War has the ability to overturn peace and force others to turn on one another. This ability is mimicked by Machinedramon when he creates his personal army out of other Machine Digimon and then proceeds to make once peaceful Digimon fight against one another.
4-Piedmon represents the Pale Horseman of the Apocalypse Death.
And the horsemen are the sign that predates the Apocalypse (Apokalymon).

-Other good examples for removed armour are Wargreymon when he hers hurt by piemon and diablomon, and magnagarurumon when switching modes or getting damaged.
-There's actually an even older version of metalgreymon, though that one isn't really used in modern digimon.
-Also if you notice, both Babamon and Rosemon share that pink orb with a symbol.
-Fun fact. Digimonkey also appears as a secret hacker boss in Digital Monster Ver. S: Digimon Tamers, which is the first Digimon videogame.
-I believe part of original digidestined mention was that we still don't know who the others were, since it was a team of 5.
-Regarding the parallel universe ones, it makes sense considering nanimon is an Ojisan from tamagotchi that ended up in the digital world, and mons like witchmon and wizardmon are from witchelny, which is based in the magical witches VPet.
-The hat theory works a bit more when you see that the hats are the ones emoting and blinking in cyber sleuth/hacker's memory.
-The DW1 Debug Mode isn't entirely inaccessible in international versions, since a very specific glitch can make it appear again.
-Actually the manhua section isn't completely true. Digimon D-Cyber is a completely original work that was released as a chinese manhua, so it wasn't only abridged versions of the main series.
-The Akihoshi Hongo thing is actually that the name is thought to be a combination of the 3 main people that are responsible for the creation of digimon, so Akihoshi Hongo isn't a real person. This theory says that it is a real person, however, but just has never shown themselves.
It was really nice though! There's was a single fact I didn't know, which was the cancelled Frontier manhua.

Gender is also conformed in Digimon Savers since Chika's Piyomon fights Masaru over the latter's sense of "manhood", which had Piyomon feeling impotent at the thought of being unable to protect her.

An idea that I always want to see in Iceberg about Digimon is about an Iceberg taking information of the Reference Book profiles.
Many profiles do make reference to events that have only occurred in the Anime like the whole orthodox evolution line of Palmon in Adventure as its the first appearance of those Digimon, others like the Agumon and Gabumon Bonds and Omegamon's origin referencing Our War Game.
This "references" in the Reference Book it could be possible that when a Digimon first debuts in an universe/timeline are their canonical first existence but then Yggdrasil makes them possible in the Multiverse, this makes more sense with Megidramon's profile carrying the X-Antibody, as it explains that this Megidramon with X-Antibody isn't really the diabolical Dramon, but is a mirage that the Digital Hazard and when all hope is lost, the teue body will shown up, erradicating the World, making the idea that this has happened in an Universe, and that it was the last will kf the Yggdrasil's "avatar" in that Universe.
Now that I think about, it would be funny to do a whole Iceberg about the Digimon Reference Book as there are many interesting things.
My favorite is that Omegamon Alter-S is specified to be as powerful as the Royal Knight Omegamon, which is the most powerful incarnation of the Digimon.
The other is Imperialdramon Paladin Mode's profile, as it is stated that had appeared in the Ancient Era of the Digital World in a "time of great calamity", the thing is that Imperialdramon is the only Digimon possible for that time, but not Omegamon as it is stated that the Holy Knight started to exist after Our War Game (1999 or 2000 according to the timeline and time fluency) so the Paladin Mode of Imperialdramon is impossible, theorizing that Imperialdramon PM of the profile is a time traveler.

The story regarding the brazillian intro was priceless. That intro was from when the series was in another channel which used ro present cartoons/amimes in block with her as a hoster as they would often insert changes like that into intros and stuff for promotional purposes.
Despite the impression it might give it was both pretty chilled and popular

So, what I'm gathering is that a iceberg video is just a collection of unconnected fun facts about the series? Am I wrong? I'm sorry, I'm just a bit confused.
Many of which seem to not be facts, but just theoretical ideas.
The fact with sex/gender remains pretty strange. We know that Digimon can evolve/deevolve in pretty much every other Digimon in their lifecycle. Which is curious because some (especially the human resembling ones, like for example angemon/angewomon) SEEM to have sexual characteristics. Come on, why does a digimon need boobs? And why are "female resembling" Digimon completely flat between the legs while "male resembling" are uh... not, or not always? I am an artist and I know a bit of anatomy, but it really isn't required to notice those things. Anyway to me it's because, even if in digital form, they do resemble existing creatures with their physical caratteristics, but since a male resembling looking Digimon could potentially digivolve into a female resembling one and viceversa, they hat to find out something to excuse it, saying they don't reproduce sexually, but have gender identities. I know that in a kids show things like this don't have any importance, kids want the cool fire breathing Dinos, but well, it's an interesting topic. Especially knowing that the digimon counterparts, the Tamagotchi, have sexes and reproduce normally.
Honestly the only reason I can think of for all the "this is literally just a woman/man" Digimon is that the people making them had a fetish for that and put no further thought into it.

My memory is quite rusty but I'm pretty sure Project Digiclipse was also the origin of the term "otakukin" which would later morph into he more general fictionkin. Or at the very least, just two digimon fan communities who both believe digimon are real to some extent and popped up online at around the same time.

7:05 Not Medarot/Medabot S (which is a mobile game) but it's supposed to be a reference to the franchize as a whole. In fact, it wemt two ways.
Medarot got GreatWars (a WarGreymon modeled medabot), GaruruMetal (same but modeled after MetalGarurumon) and OmegaKnight (this Omegamon modeled medarot has two hand configurations. Regular hands and the classic sword/cannon combo) while Digimon only got Omedamon, which is the Omegamon-looking medarot. It first started as an april's fools Digimon (Omedamon) that got a profile added to the reference book just for that one day but then it extended when the medarots were added to the mobile ge Medarot S and then all of these characters were added to the special Medarot-based Vital Bracelet DiM card.
Isn't Kentaurosmon/Sleipmon Burst Mode also avilable on some other V-Pet? Can't remember if it was the Accel or the Neo but I'm fairly certain it had a burst mode in one of the LCD toys.
