F-16 pilot gave me an aneurysm. Even when he had you slow, he started reversing his turns in front of you, the biggest no-no on what you should be doing with the F-16 or any aircraft for that matter. The pilot flew like a drunk and stumbled his way around and could barely do anything against you even while you were in your lowest energy state because he was making bad choice after bad choice.

That pilot was me by the way. If I had to pin down why my performance was so poor here, it would be that I was unfamiliar with the yak-141's unique thrust vectoring capabilities. The strategy I used here was the same as I had used on almost every other opponent before this, which was to stay in the 2 circle fight and keep the opponent slow before moving in for the kill. The reason that didn't work was because the yak-141 very slow speeds can use its thrust vectoring to get the turn radius incredibly short, and point the point the nose incredibly quickly. The way I tried to cope with this was to use more of the vertical to exploit the weaknesses of the thrust vectoring system, which I did rather poorly. By the third round I was able to keep AeroTurtle defensive initially, but I had run out of ammunition and had to out-endure him to snag the win.

@@pau3203 Unfamiliarity is something I understand, but I believe that you should've been able to put together a plan, specifically using the vertical, like you said, in the first round, and then properly implement it better in the 2nd round, then sweep the third. Overall, it looked like you were panicking when dealing with the VTOL thrust going by how you get caught reversing when you had absolutely no reason to do so.
I think this is partially a symptom of how jet gameplay works in War Thunder compared to props. The short 1 circle decided nature of dogfights in top-tier jets makes it where they end quickly and so players don't get much of a chance to truly practice nor fight with the full extent of their enemy or their own aircraft because of a risk of having a teammate come in and just sweep you off the floor.

I think they should add block 30 F-16. the yak-141 is broken that's why the update should be called the russian buff update

They should simply nerf the VTOL and overall manoeuvrability, not add another OP jet and wait 6 month untill they add a counterpart. They should have and should do that everytime something is released. Instead of having an OP plane with no counterplay that ruins the experience for non whale players, add the counterpart(s) at the same time so the matchmaking isn't one sided, but gaijin would loose too much money if they ever did that.

friendly reminder that the Tomcat is still 11.7 while it's 12.0 worthy, and that the US planes still are the best bvr planes, as the Yak 141 carries only two verry good bvr missiles, same for any other russian planes, while Phantoms/Tomcats can carry 4/6

@@sussyamongus6754 does it really need 9Ls when it can have 6 7Fs ? You can stick to bvr and be deadly. The main issue is saturated brs in high tier, it's unbearable to face Tomcats in 10.7 or even some 11.0 aircrafts. Higly doubt the queue time would be higher as eveyone and their mother are playing top tier since 12.0 was introduced
