hmmm playing now, didn't notice to be honest, try tap roll button after drop and turn, it will give you more space for the gimbal limit.
Hey hunter, ive been using the g91 YS in ground RB and it is actually a pretty decent ground pounder. It gets custom loadouts and can take 4 zuni pods plus aim9s

Probably the best way to play the smt in grb is to use irst with r-27et to fight enemy planes.
If you don't want to alert enemy RWR you can use IRST instead of radar.
Yup, already did that against the MiG in Mozdok.

I'm 100% sure it will eventually get the newer engines and the extra flares, but idk about the targeting pod... I've seen pictures of Mig-29M2 and Mig-35 with targeting pods, but does the SMT carry the same one?
@@jfv2312 I don't know if it usually uses it, but as far as I know it can carry the PDLCT and some others.

Also the guiding radar of rolland is in i or j band. Also the thing u call a rolland in game isnt a roland. It uses roland missile but not a rolland
Gaijin really can't let any vehicles of almighty Puccia have a single weakness. They gave the MiG-29SMT the SPO-150 RWR which I am pretty sure it never had.
MiG-29 SMT still need the proper engine, RD-33 series 3 and also KH-29TD should be infrared guiding, not optical. USSR the main and big nation still to this very moment with no jet that has thermal imaging.
We would stop complaining much about Russian bias concept if we tried to look at the situation from different angles.

I swear every Controller player agrees with me, that he doesent need radar lock on flying targets, to use aam effectivley which have a range around 10kms. If u want context just ask.
Hunter have you ever used the Ab-205 and A109?
When I grinded the german tree for the Tiger I though that was pain, but God damn this is even worse, A109 doesn't even have a cockpit sight for simulator
Use TOW in sim, and in RB as well .. rockets with no CCIP is just waste of time.
@@Hunter_i86it took me a while to get the TOWs but once I got them, I spent the day playing it (luckely yesterday was the day A109 was available in sim) and at the end of the day I finally reached the Mangusta A129... happiness (maybe more mangusta gameplay soon?)

Sometimes the target is moving, so I want a "track" lock, not "point" lock.

Curious if the IRST radar on the Mig23’s and MIG29’s gives warning on RWR’s. It shouldn’t. Would be abit sneakier against enemy planes in ground battles
It doesn’t, a rare warthunder W. It’s detection range is a bit wonky though so I often resort to just using tws and deal with giving them the occasional radar ping. At least it won’t give them a track warning

All the open source info I find about the Kh29 mention a much bigger warhead than what we have in game about 320 kg). If this is true, why does Gaijin keep this missile intentionally nerfed with a warhead slightly under 150 kg of tnt equivalent?
The same with many missiles with big warheads.
Warhead weight != explosive weight. Decent rule of thumb is that the explosive weight is usually roughly 1/2 the total warhead weight. It's not always the case, but it roughly applies to most cases. You can see this very clearly with bombs, bombs are essentially 100% warhead, I mean what else do they do, but only usually 50% of this weight is explosives. And again, exceptions exist.

HE physics are kind meh for everything...look at Hellfires... shouldnt need a direct hit in light armoured vehicles to kill it but yet a find trucks such Flakbus and pantsirs surviving direct hits...not even gonna talk about some rockets...

IRST is a passive system, it can't alert RWR.

Hello, yes you are right, but it was a hovering chopper so I thought I won't need the IRST because I was thinking of gunning it mainly, I usually use IRST against jets, for example the enemy MiG in Kuban, locked him with PD and directly switched to IR lock.

What I've been having issues with is the Kh in tv mode, when i lock an area, i cannot unlock it. I've tried all the controls and went over them in test flight. Wonder if it's a bug as I have never had issues with other tv guided ordinance and I mostly play top tier so I use set controls often. Anyone else having issues?
Yeah I've been getting problems with the AGM-65D on the Harrier Gr.7. I think it's just a bug for everyone.

usually switching secondary weapons unlocks 'locked' weapons
I don't remember the exact keybind for it
But it should be something like
air to ground missile lock
Pressing it switches between stabilizer on, lock target, lock target with the ability to lead, stop lock with stab still on

MiG-27k is nice with 4x laser guided missiles but it is still has SPO-15 RWR which is old RWR that tells nothing, but anyway Gaijin gave SPO-150 to MiG-29SMT so it is better now.
How far can Kh-29TD track MOVING targets from?
Around 7km, the target is MBT.
Because size of the target matters, the bigger the target the higher range for all TV weapons to capture the vehicle.

I see you choose not to shoot at a lot of tank targets. Why are you so selective on who you shoot at?
Priority to SPAA then static tanks in clean positions with no dead tanks around, and if I didn't find any I come closer to around 7km and pick two moving targets for the Kh-29TD.

Doing gun runs to spot enemies is ok with BF-109, not with a 4th generation jet my friend.

the kh29D has and the mig 29smt can carry the Russian Damocles TGP. But in game neither of both
so with adats always switch to irst :) But why do even planes get warning's if there is missile fired and modern tanks have no way of knowing if they have a missile targeted on them. And that is 1 of the reasons i hate air in Wt
Because WT is relatively a realistic game, if the tank has warning systems in real life it gets them in WT, Challenger 2 Black Night has APS for example and PUMA has laser warning system.
