Hey everyone! Im back with some different kind of content. Going to be mixing it up with more videos like this. Would appreciate feedback. Hope you enjoy!
Hey man how did you find the match with "Cacareco" Alexandre Ferreira and Roger? Do you have a link to watch the fight? I've been trying to find it for ages.
@@sirfudecake32Hey! Unfortunately I couldn't find it either when making this video. So I actually had to rip the video off the official Adcc dvd itself.
@@jerryh2954 thanks a lot for the comment! Really glad you enjoyed the video. I’m definitely going to be putting together more vids like this. Stay tuned 😁
8 matches in a single day (28th march 2005) are already impressive. Total fight time, 2h17m .... unreal.
The man is an absolute savage
2 days
The fact that Xande is competing at this high of level in 05 and just competed at the worlds this year 17 years later is absolutely insane
Yea I thinks it’s amazing too because of how inspiring it is for the older guys who are hesitant to compete in the adult divisions. Especially awesome to see Lovato perform so well against the youngsters.
Steroids are a hell of a drug
@@jduder 😂😂😂
you mean Xande Ribeiro??
@@bigtimepimpin666 Yes
Roger is my influence for NoGi style BJJ. Technical, tough, extreme and explosive stamina, amazing fight IQ, amazing display of skill and his control over his movements is so cool. People talk so much shit about jiu jitsu because they think it's a knock off of wrestling and judo, or whatever they say about helio gracie and his family, they dont understand how much this martial art has evolved over time.
Yes! Thank you. I'm sick of these know nothings having this overwhelming urge to open their mouths when they really shouldn't
When Roger saw that guys muscles, he was “Aight, let’s fatigue him”
😂
Great job showing the full journey he took here. That story telling element adds a lot more interest and helps drive home the impressive nature of this. Great video
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed. And thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated! Stay tuned for more content like this 👍
I'm not sure over how many days this tournament happened, but I'm in awe that he had the energy to keep going after 2 double overtimes and still face off Jacare.
Hmm I thought it took place in one day. Could be wrong though.
roger said in an interview going in for the final of the absolute was the most tired he has ever been.
May 28th and 29th
@@Acordeionfire first day his shirt had black sleeves, second day all white shirt. insane performances
Is not "natural energy" tho...
He is probably on EPO.
Firrst time i've watched all the matches of his from this tournament. Wow what a beast Roger is! thanks for the video
Yea it was a first for me too while making this. Nice to see some bjj history.
Youngsters that come today comment that Gordon Ryan is the goat don’t know how great Roger Gracie was. GOAT there’s only one and that’s Roger
Is there any doubt? Ofc Roger had the Greatest performance ever. Also he beat all the great names of the sport for that time one by one.
Think ive commented on 2 videos out of the thousands ive watched but i just wanted to say great video, really enjoyed it. 💪
Thank you! That means a lot 🙏
What an outstanding performance! Very well put-together video!

Amazing video! Thank you for the upload! I assumed Roger went through everyone easily, but man, after watching this video, he had no easy matches at all.
Thank you! And nope! He definitely had to work for it 😂
Wow great edit! Your voice over was awesome

this is sick bro. made me push subscribe.
Thanks! More to come! Glad you enjoyed it 🙌
Goat, etc etc, but RG actually looks a lot more vulnerable here than I recall, especially vs Werdum and the topless black guy.
Yea it definitely wasn’t a walk in the park haha
Absolutely amazing. Wow!
🙌
Found my new favorite channel
wow thanks! Stay tuned for more!
Tremendous content!
Thank you!
yes. yes and yes. absolutely fantastic video commemorating this legendary run that i don't think will ever be beaten. well done.
Thank you for the comment. Glad you enjoyed the video! And I agree. Rogers run will definitely be a hard one to beat. Only person I see that can maybe do it is Gordon
beautiful video
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Such an interesting breakdown
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed!
Though I 100% agree that Roger's performance is the greatest ever I feel Braulio Estima's 2009 double ADCC gold run deserves a mention.
Ohhh I wanna look into that one
@5:28 voice of Eddie Bravo
Yes the man with a very distinct voice. Can’t miss him
Roger's greatest performance was growing all his hair back.
😂
Thank you
Great!
Thank you!
Thanks 🙏
Thanks for watching!

1000 percent agree
Osss!
I freaki’n love Roger!!!💪💪
🤘🤘
Great video. One critical comment: very hard for me to call a BJJ match where an arm was broken to pieces a great victory. A display of courage, maybe. But, he was destroyed.
Thank you, and I agree! I guess I’m mainly referring to that level of display of courage as what made that such an iconic match
Jacare was at Koral Desafio a week later in Sao Paulo with some team mates of mine. His arm was in a sling, no plaster, I don't think the damage was as bad as people made out.
@@hyetrwesmelvin8167 Thats pretty incredible if thats the case! I wonder what the exact damage was.
@@hyetrwesmelvin8167 - fair point. But, it was only within the limits of the IBJJF rules that the damage that was done didn't lead to his loss. Jacare is awesome, but I just don't see being saved by the bell as something worthy of celebration. Roger was clearly the superior BJJ fighter on that day.
@@trn450 I've been lucky enough to meet and train with Roger, he's an absolute legend for sure but rules were different back in 2004, Jacare played the game and won fair and square. Watch Rogers face at the end of the fight, even he knows it.
Rogers 2009 Mundials run was also 100 submissions. Weight and open class. This is the most unique feature. He's the only one who's ever done it in gi and nogi.
Crazy right? I should make a vid on that too. But I don’t want all my videos to be about Roger 😂
@@DeepDiveJJ make the video my friend. It's an important part of BJJ history and Roger diservs it. Besides it'll be a Nice video- almost 10 competition cross chokes 😁 ( I think one was from the back)
@@MrFreeeeeedom yea you’re right! Good suggestion. I’m gonna look into it 👍
@@DeepDiveJJ Pleaseplease 😅
To me the reason Roger is the GOAT is because he went about as far as a BJJ specialist can go in MMA besides Werdum or Maia.
I agree!
On top of this , 10 world championships in BJJ (Gi). GOAT
Unbelievable
I still consider Roger the winner of the first match. A deep submission where the person doesn't tap is much more impressive than just getting in top position for a second.
Yea true but I guess in Jacares mind it was worth it. Wonder if he ever has any regrets about not tapping.
That's an issue where you disagree with the rule set and how the match was judged according to the rule set. He did lose according to the rules for that match though.
Regrets? Jacaré? He brags about it to this day
@@arielteixeira4306 😂
If Marcelo Garcia would have won the ADCC absolute in 2007, it would have been him. At 77kg, he submitted all of his opponents in his weight and the Absolute, except for his final match with Roger Drysdale. Roger Gracie is definitely the man.
I want to watch that run. Think I might have the dvd 🤔. It just goes to show how talented Marcelo is. I also just read that there was some controversy with Drysdale having some fixed matches to get into the finals. I didn't know that. Interesting stuff.
Roger is my influence. I like how basic and technical he keeps everything. People love to jump and spin around and collect points. Roger's technically prevents him from getting submitted and allows 85% submission finish rate. I guess maybe when you get out of the hospital you can tell people how you beat Roger by judges decision.
He is amazing.
Yup he is!
You can hear Renzo a mile away, 😅😅
Werdum is really a monster tho
💯

oss!
how does rogers double gold run compare to gordons double gold run? was one objectively more dificult than the other?
The degree of difficulty can be debated, but the fact that Roger went 8 for 8 with submissions is the deciding factor for me
TBH Roger had a tougher run imo. Because he faced a lot of world and adcc champions in his run. A lot more than Gordon.
Guy is a beast
Yea he def is!
Roger Gracie is THE BEST competitor of all time. Never has been submitted, not even once. Even Gordon Ryan has a track record like that.
Roger Sinistro!
Can you do one on Marcelo Garcia?
Top 5 BJJ Tournament Legend. 🏆🎖
New to the Channel. I think I will look around a subscribe.
I’ll definitely look to do a video on Marcelo! Thanks for subscribing!
yes by far it roger
oss
GOAT jiu-jitsu competitor.
GOAT ADCC performance.
🐐🐐🐐
I think both Andre Galvao and Gordon Ryan have both won ADCC double gold since then
Maybe so, but definitely did not submit all their opponents in route to winning.
Back when BJJ wasn't trendy.
💯
great fucking video man
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
Roger is the best. If everyone doing Jiu-Jitsu are stacked up in a pyramid, Roger is the eye flying above
🐐 Agreed!
This video was published before September, 2022.
I love roger 😍😘😏💕❤️😉
BJJ God!!!
🙌
Jacare holding wins over Roger is such an incredible feat
Yes definitely is!
That's a fake win I'd rather be Roger with 2 healthy arms
Idk Roger is a legend but Gordon’s run last ADCC run was better imo
🤔
1:11 john meyer
11:44 is when moment he lost lol
Got cocky and thought he would outlast Roger rather than keep defending any position
Fantastic video bro. That actually was a legendary run. I would say Gordon's ADCC 2019 run was more dominant than this, although his competition wasn't as good. Roger was fighting legends in every single fight. Also Gordon didn't submit everyone but I feel like Roger's opponent quitting due to exhaustion isn't that much of a submission either. Anyway, great video.
Thank you! Yea Gordon’s 2019 ADCC run is definitely up there too. I wouldn’t be surprised if his next ADCC appearance is even more dominant.
Opponent quit due to exhaustion is definitely a submission. He literally had to verbally submit. He knew if he went another 10 minutes, he WOULD get tapped, so it wasn't even worth trying. Mental domination is sometimes more impressive than physical domination.
Comparing Gordon Ryan against to Roger gracie is the same as Comparing a kid that just kicked a ball, with Pelé or Maradona.
Roger gracie still today the best Jiu-jitsu fighter that ever existed
gordon rayan? the king? that ebi with greg..
100% facts.
Ryan beating everyone with ease and none of these guys, Roger included will NOT even take a match with him.
Josh and Gonzaga were beaten with ease. Roger knows he can't hang with Ryan.
2:00
that was Hodgers first and only performance oops i dont know ju git su never mind i cant even spell it
lol what
John Danaher agrees
ROGER GOAT 🐐
🐐
Na minha humilde opinião o mestre cacareco ganhou essa luta
Roger is the GOAT.
🐐
Nice! Can you do a Rafa Mendes?
Thanks! And I’ll def get around to Rafa!
Man werdum is goated 20 mins of wasting Rodger
🐐
Is that Eddie Bravo commentating? Sure sounds like him..like way before the DMT and flat earth Era of eddie
This video was made before the most recent ADCC, but Gordon Ryan’s most recent performance was incredible. I would say that was the best ADCC performance.
Agree that Gordon was super impressive. But, perhaps, the level of opponents does not quite compare. Each of Roger’s opponents had proved themselves champions and were very much in their prime. While Rosevelt and Nicky Rod are incredibly talented, they have yet to prove that they can get the job done in a big ticket tournament and it may well be argued that they have not yet reached their prime. So, I wonder if it would be fair to say that, relative to his time, Roger faced off against a more impressive line up of opponents than Gordon. It is a little bit like arguing how many angels would fit on top of a needle, though 😅
0:17 personally I don't think Jacare has beaten Roger lol Roger has broken his arm and he just did not tap .. then ran around the rest of the match. What a cringe. Jacare was never even close to submitting Roger or breaking his arm.
Yea I agree. But at the end of the day Jacare got the gold medal and 1st place on paper so in his mind I’m sure he believes he won
Sorry Gordon, it’s still Roger
