There is no asterisk on Roger's Goat status, there is no "goat in the kimono". He is the Goat until proven otherwise, the young guns can prove otherwise after they run their entire career or match Roger's record, which none did as of today.
Roger would never beat Gordon in no GI. Or Craig. No GI and GI are basically two different sports now within jiujitsu. So yes he’s the GI goat. That’s not a knock on him at all he’s a legend. But like I said GI and no GI are two different sports now 😊
This is literally where I live. I train at Cantagalo (Jackson Sousa) Charring Cross Hospital (10 minutes from there). I’ll try a few sessions here also because ‘Roger Gracie’. :)
By far, my FAVORITE BJJ Black Belt, Roger Gracie! Roger Gracie is truly very special and will always be considered my favorite BJJ Black Belt! Roger Gracie is definitely an icon of the sport!
It must be fun and frustrating at the same time to be a killer black belt and have your instructor just roll thru you like paper. I've seen Rigan Machado do this. He would have full on conversations with people off the mat while destroying a black belt while sparring. These guys are just on another level.
Why the emphasis on greatest in the kimono? He’s the greatest ever period- because he did everything at the GOAT. Level. Not just one style. Not a knock on Ryan before someone comments
Just got back home from being there training at Rogers place. Great gym, great practitioners and Roger is as you'd expect a great guy. Highly recommend swinging by when you can!
It's hard to do drop ins in that gym though. I was able to train there because I train at a Roger Gracie affiliate. You'd need a white branded gi for the class + a drop in fee.
@@muhammadkamil3558 Not true, yes there is a fee to pay but it's for the entire day, obviously you can't train for free, and the day pass includes as many sessions as you want to do. They don't expect you, as a visitor, to wear a white gi. I had a black and a blue gi with me when I was there and there were no problems.
I’m back in London hustling like everybody else im 33 and I have a question guys I had back spinal fusion 2012 but I’m pretty good now in 2024 less pain and I want to do a sport like bjj to give me a bit of meaning in my life You think the coach will Accept me to train with the “back issue” I have ?
I am gonna be in London soon with my wife for vacation. Is it possible to visit for an class under Roger? I mean im an stupid whitebelt but i would Love to get a class with Roger on my visit.
I train at the academy. White belts are only allowed to go to the fundamental class unless you have 3 stripes or more. Sometimes he will go to the intermediate classes but very rarely. The instruction is world class so you should go regardless
You need to email beforehand. They don't entertain drop-ins unless you know someone. I was able to go because I train under Kev capel (3rd deg BB under Mauricio)
Nope , Roger is a 5th degree under his dad (who is a coral belt). You get coral belts at the 7th degree level, and you have to be awarded by another coral belt for significant contribution to the sport.
@flograppling he won ADCC category and absolute all wins by submission, Gordon (your goat) still trying to do, while being IBJJF world champion (GI) and you still don't recognize him as the goat? 😂
@@PowerfulNomadnot really, this is the world, this is the product that we have after centuries of invasions of other lands, how do you think that the Native American feels about they own lands?

Yup hes done it all in gi, no gi and mma. That's GOAT status. End of.
Even Gordon Ryan claims he's the GOAT so...
i think Buchecha passed him in titles. but Roger defeated him in a match. finished him, so.. hard to tell.
@@pinksupremacy6076 Gordon is the nogi GOAT, easily.

We are all lucky this man decided to retire. Jesus it is evident this dude could still destroy everybody.
rolling with Roger is still like "bad weather all the time" LOL
in other words, it is like living in London all the time lol
Definitely GOAT in the gi, and GOAT all round BJJ practitioner
Love Roger content.
Love that I get to train here everyday ♥️ love the RGA team
Glad I got to stop in and train there while I was in London. Great city.
While competing Professor Roger seems so intense, it's good to see the GOAT relaxed and smiling.

Greatest of all time with or without a kimono

Got to stop in and train there once. Didn't see Roger but the atmosphere was great and learnt a cool guard pass

Roger Gracie vs Gordon Ryan would be awesome!
For God sake, I didnt train at his gym back when I was in London, 2009 til 2017 cause his gym was too far. Now he is more central... 😢😢 Im bummed 😢
Plain awesomeness
Roger's right place is in a Shaolin temple. London is doing the GOAT no justice!

I submitted Roger Gracie last year. He struggled and then begged for me to stop
Then you woke up in a puddle of your own urine... 🤣
I watched the whole thing just to understand why out of every place in the world he chose London. I still don't understand.
Basically his dad wanted to spread BJJ to Europe and it was a fresh market. Basically every gym in the UK has its roots with Mauricio Gomes.
Shouldn’t he have a coral belt?????

Did he get hair surgery?
Wonder why he doesn’t rep his degrees on his belt?
