    1. Spend more on Ease
    2. You don’t need to do everything yourself - overwhelmed, burnout
    3. See beauty in the journey - Life is a marathon, not a sprint
    4. You don’t need to know everything
    5. You are in control - friendship, job, environment
    6. You are not the same everyday
    7. Go slower - slow down / rest
    8. Don’t self sabotage

I’m so glad to see a young woman who is able to enjoy life and is not hustling to survive. I think it depends on which career you choose and what your calling is in life. I’ve been in the healthcare field all my life and it’s not realistic to even think about softer life when you work full time and you dedicate your life to serving others. I did get burned out eventually and so I moved to Florida and as a result I’m able to work part time and enjoy life more😉

    • @JillzGuerin

Career definitely plays a huge part in it I think. I find it much easier to live a softer life when I work for myself doing a job I love…vs working a very intensive corporate job where people care deeply about how many hours you can work for. But the good thing is is that we can always change direction if something isn’t working for us anymore 💕

I am in healthcare, too, and it’s a very machismo field. Being strong mentally and physically is part of the job. Softness is not valued in healthcare, unless you’re a social worker. I try to bring some softness/caring/femininity/inspiration to our patients, and they appreciate it.

These days it's all about bling, material goods, jewelry, being half naked, and flashing wads of cash. You can also thank rap and hip-hop culture for that since that's where it really started to take off, back in the early 2000's.

    • @andrew2477
      @andrew2477 3 місяці тому

It's not about that. People work because they don't want to be poor and go hungry. Then they work even harder than before because now that they are no longer poor and hungry, they want to buy nice things and live in a nice place. Simple as that. People don't work hard because society tells them to. If I wanted to travel the world I need a decent amount of money to do it. It won't be cheap.

ive been living this way for years and others (including family), always gave me flack for it lmao. at the same time, they were admittedly jealous but also happy for me. they chalked it up to me just being "lucky". Nope, just a conscious decision to live this way. I'm glad more people are catching on because it truly is so freeing and everyone deserves to feel that peace within. It also doesnt have to be a permanent shift. Allow yourself to go through phases as well as life ebbs and flows. I see it almost as medicinal, doing what feels right depending on the circumstance at the time.

Jillz, thanks for all your videos - they have been a huge part of my recent growth! Slowing down my lifestyle and being respectful of my body's menstrual cycle has been instrumental to tapping into my femininity. I internalized "hustle culture" in early college and 10 years of this ultimately left me wiped out and unhappy. I thought slowing down was weakness, so you can imagine after ovulation and before my period I was absolutely miserable and pushing myself beyond my means. Although the hard work did lead me to management positions in my workplaces, once I was at the top I was totally exhausted and subconsciously resentful towards other people. I think the way we treat (and think of) others directly correlates with how we treat ourselves. I appreciate your ability to maintain your channel and website all while embracing your femininity and helping others achieve the same. Super excited to see your future continue to evolve Jillz! (:

GREAT topic! Your point about how we get used to the chaos and non-stop stress is so true. It feels almost selfish to take the time for a bubble bath while sipping some wine, to take the time to do a facial massage instead of just a splash of water and go. Why do we associate guilt with self-care and not allowing ourselves to take a quiet walk or sit and look at the clouds? We CHOOSE our frenetic pace! We CHOOSE to keep doing for others and not considering ourselves important as well. Well, I am easing into the softer life in joyful increments and loving every minute! Just like you, I would recommend it for everyone!

While I agree with most of what you are saying, I think that the number one aspect that will help everyone become softer is also to make your life simpler, and that requires no extra money. Eliminate all external source of stress, own and commit to less things, select your relationships very carefully, and your life will automatically improve, leading you to become softer. We all have the same basic needs ultimately, so it’s up to us to scale those needs with our resources to the best of our abilities. Making your life simpler will lead to a softer, more fun and more relaxed life

People are all talking about hard work. What does this even mean? Does this mean working hours and hours on end without a break? Does this mean never sitting down and rest? Does this mean your attention should always focus on the outside rather than how i feel? I'm a perfectionist and constantly burnt out if i work. So i want to redefine "hard work". "Hard work" didnt do me good. Hard work means for me staying focused and get the things done i need to do that day. I'm sick of the husstle culture. It did make me ill.

Your body didn't make you sick. You did. You aren't separate from your body, you ARE the body. You ARE the brain, and every single inch of yourself. Another major problem that induces stress and a feeling of distance from one's self is thinking you are piloting around a meat bag separate from you. Of course people will feel alienated when that is their mindset.

@ Jillz and friends in the comments: Anyone have any advice about living a soft life while in nursing school? In one way, I feel like I'm leaning into my femininity (caring for others, learning and developing myself) but it's also a very demanding program (one exam a week, hours of class time, and 12-hour shifts at the hospital.) I'm tired, haha! I'm trying to think of ways to create moments of softness into my day even when I have to work hard ... thank you!

So amazing you’re in nursing school! Little moments of presence in your day can help a lot. For example, when you take your lunch break…take 10 mins to just sit with your food and enjoy it. No phone or anything, just being present in that. Or taking a 5 min walk outside when you have a break. Breathing deeply and relaxing into your body. Lighting a candle as you get ready for bed. It’s the little things 💕💕 But also remember that life has seasons, this might just be a more demanding season of your life and that’s okay. Just don’t forget to take care of yourself too! ❤️

Place your faith on Jesus. Jesus died so that you can have everlasting life. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No one gets to the Father but by him. Trust Jesus. Repent.
    Have a good day.

Im so sick of the 8-6 life. How are humans ok with working this much. I can’t seem to find any part time work employers only want full time.

Because its needed to pay the bills. Things cost money. Unless you live in a communist country where everything is free. If you're happy without material things that's a fine way to live too but you can't have it both ways. You either live the "soft girl" life and never get to where you want to be because your finances are not in order/non-existent, or you pull yourself up by the bootstraps, work hard and sweat to make your money so that you can one day live the lavish lifestyle you've always dreamed of.

I’ve mentioned in some other videos that for a woman to be in her feminine energy, she has to feel SAFE. It’s a non negotiable. Try to create that feeling of safety as much as you can 💕

I hear you! The 'soft life' is actually/originally a black movement (among black women) to try to erase the negative stereotypes around them based on racial issues and their own hard communities. Especially for their mental health and self care. So it's actually very specific to a certain group of people who already know how to navigate being 'masculine' and know how to protect themselves. As a non POC, please find your sense of safety first, because being feminine in a vulnerable world/situation without a back up plan is dangerous. It seems like too many of these topics are simply co-opted and don't even make sense anymore. Protect yourself first, be soft later or when you can.

There's no such thing as masculine or feminine energy. It's all made up and a way to describe hormones and testosterone. Men and women have the exact same "energy", all living creatures do. Do you see female chimps or gorillas channeling "feminine" energy? Nope. And they never will.
