I own a UNNO Burn, Ikki and Mith. They are absolutely the best bikes in their category. They are unique and you can shred them like crazy. The looks for me personally are pure art. I love my 3 UNNO bikes. They are all custom. Oh yeah and I own a custom Rocky Mountain Instinct Powerplay. It's absolutely amazing!
As an owner myself think this a good review. Bike is indeed flawed but is always an occasion to ride. One thing to keep in mind is make sure your dealer is good, in UK getting issues from factory fixed is less than perfect process, especially when used to another established premium bike manufacturer.
@@ev_1236 a few to note: - motor cable routed under motor plastic protective cover such that cable was being pinched and would fail, had to dremmel a relief. - stem bolt cover seen in online pics etc, didn’t get it, these are quite obvious when not covered - more of a dealer issue but fork decals and frame wrap quality issues - for some reason old headset top cap and bolt used, was worn out - carbon bar had pretty obvious visual issue, like the clear was badly applied. Was promised another, never arrived - the rear brake rubs slightly due to caliper mount bolts not being aligned quite right. - lower shock mounting bolt is also the bolt for linkage, is a pain to remove and re-line up. It really is a work of art in the black/copper one I got. The suspension feels pretty special, especially climbing. It feels bombproof even if a bit noisy due to cables in frame. The high seat tube is not a problem. I chose an S1 being 1.7m tall.
Ok so I just started MTB 9 months ago. Fell in love with ebike Levo SL. So much more fun than lugging on my old bike. What non ebike would u recommend for someone that likes mid motor going back to try and have fun on an analog?
I think something in the trail or all mountain category would be good. Trance X, Occam, Hightower, sb140, Instinct. Depends on the trails and terrain you like to ride.
@@bikersedge What I meant was that according to rumors spotted in Europe there is opinion that smaller frame sizes are Ok what means they are not breaking down under the heavy use condition.
Stopped by your shop on our way down to St George a few weeks ago - thanks for the great trail recommendation in Salt Lake and Little creek! Storefront is amazing and everyone was super helpful and friendly =)
To play devil's advocate, although the look of my bike is not the most important aspect for me personally, it is important if I'm spending multiple thousands of dollars on a bike as I don't want it to be ugly. No need to condescend the people out there that do...let them do what they want and believe what they want when it isn't detrimental to anyone...
@@bikersedge thanks for the confirmation. I’ve been looking in to the Mondraker Dune XR and it has a Bosch SX motor. I’ve read that they are similar construction/built and want to know if the SX motor rattles over rocky/chunky terrain.
This is the ultimate form over function bike! It looks amazing!!! But the issues with the access to the shock, the issue of the short dropper post and seat clearance are just way too annoying to live with.
@@bikersedge I would disagree. I found the Unno to be great in a very specific type of terrain only. When it got really nasty like in Andorra, I felt that it was pretty quickly out of its depth and the suspension struggled to deal with the really quick succession of big hits. On flow trails, the bike struggles to come to life and makes the trail feel "sticky" and lifeless. This bike works well on very steep, slippery terrain where there are lots of roots and many swift direction changes. But even there the seat post is a constant pain in the ass, quite literally!
@@asifitmatters1 I agree on flow trails. Unless you’ve got a ton of speed it can feel a bit lifeless. I wonder what 30% sag would do on that terrain though. I’m at about 36-37% and it does really well on big bumps and high speed chatter.
@@bikersedge I ran it all the way from 40 up to 25% sag. The 25% was awful. It didn't want to break into the travel and everything felt out of place. Because of its design I feel that it has a very specific "sweet spot" where it works well or as intended and everything else is just crap. Unlike a Stumpy which allows for so much individuality in the setup and still retains great riding characteristics, the Unno can only be ridden in one setting. That was my experience after having one on test for a few weeks and that's why I chose not to buy one, despite the amazing looks and "wow" factor. For me the only boutique bike that actually lives up to the hype is Forestal, and this despite having real asshats for management.
I agree with the best bike reviewer on UA-cam!!! Keep killing it!!!
Hey thanks!
Really? That seat tube makes it look like a 13 year old who found his first adult site on the web.

Awesome looking bike! Which one as a allrounder, the Mith or the Wild?
Both do all around duty really well. Different ride qualities. Pick the one that aligns with what you like the most.
Just for the mullet set up, I think the Mith suits me best
Pick the UNNO. You can't even compare Orbea to UNNO!

All of the flaws for me are in the setup and not the actual ride quality. I’m a huge fan of how it rides. Just never want to set it up again. Haha.

In Europe there are opinions that in size L and XL frame is very weak and you end up with broken one. Smaller sizes are good.
I’d argue that the size that fits you is the best size.

That's totally fine as long as looks don't get in the way of function or practicality - which, in this case, they are a huge pain in the butt.
@@bikersedge I guess quite literally lol, but yeah there's a fine line between form & function
