I'm in love with that psychedlic Jazzmaster, that refin is gorgeous and the perfect way to spruce up something that probably started in a rough state. Also happy to see a bunch of Danos walk by the booth for potential trade, That refin Epi Explorer is also sweet!
...I thought it was just like a model railway(railroad) show ! Same guys on the stalls, same vibe. Entusiasts are all the same, just the enthusiasms are different.😀
I really appreciate the video. I wasn't able to make it but looking forward to seeing you guys next time. I have a 1967 Rickenbacker 12 string in jetglo. See you soon
Dang I saw signs on the road for the show and wanted to go but I already have a guitar and as a beginner I can’t really justify another until I get better 😅😂 I gotta go next year
So dumb question, at these guitar shows does everyone have to pack up all their guitars at the end of each day and you take them with you, or is there 24 hour security or something at the location to keep an eye on things at night? And if you do have to pack up all the gear where do you put it? I assume not leaving it in a van/truck parked outside a hotel.
Likely making money through sales, and just using this to rotate old inventory . Also, they probably aren't straight up trades, and cash is added on one end.
I agree, and though I still enjoy his videos, it seems like all they do at these shows is trade. We rarely see any straight up sales. Maybe they work the shows for exposure and do most of the selling on line.
I see Kaylie is left-handed. Congratulations to her. What does an LP Junior double cut look like with the pick guard removed? Does it leave a 'shadow' where the guard was?
When you go back to japan see if you can find any Starfield solid bodies...or semi-hollow/thinlines. Richie Kotzen was a signature artist for a hot second, which was about as long as the project lasted before j custom and LACS became real things, taking the staff and resources, displacing them from Starfield, which was a short lived project anyhow, probably never intended to last longer than to be a gateway to a few other shop sites (including what would become LACS) and product lines. RIP Mike Lipe. Hoshino has/had a couple other interesting projects too (including Heartfield, which paved the way for their Fender Japan relationship as well as proto-soundgear lines), but you'll find those along the way too.
Starfield guitars are quite cool, especially the models with Monkey Pot/Teak bodies and Lipstick pick-ups. The semi solid models were called Cabriolet. These are more offered in Germany
I have a couple (I believe) original Starfield (lawsuit era) Les Paul copies made by Ibanez. I think the Starfield brand that you mention are when they basically used the name later for a different line. While researching the brand, I came across the Starfield that you are talking about. Finding info on the original Starfield brand is difficult, but I believe that Ibanez rebranded some of their guitars as Starfield for different markets like how Harmony and Silvertone are the same with just different names. Anyway, it’s cool to come across someone mentioning Starfield. I’m pretty sure that both versions are pretty rare.
I like this show, much more, than events like the Dallas Guitar Show. This one in Sarasota is much smaller in space, but the atmossphere here ,is much more gentile and personal/friiendly.
It was good to see you sell the Ocean Water Les Paul. I had seen you advertising it online and had considered contacting you about it, but ended up buying a new one when Gibson dropped their price on it.
Guitar shows? There are 17 million leftys around. Not a lefty guitar in sight. Ironically, I saw 2 employees that were leftys. Wonder if they play? Not there, obviously.
Yep,I’m getting absolutely nothing done since I found your channel. Now I know why my twin girls were into the lady opening the eggs and showing the prizes inside of them……of course they were 3 & I’m now 63! Guitars and Guns will keep me broke my entire life. Nothing but wood & steel.
Thomas, what was the conversation you stumbled upon with Alex and Kaylie? "Thoughts?...it's not very nice" and the look on Alex's face when he saw the camera.....if looks could kill. Hmm, a 'Peeping Tom' !
Thanks for the trade for the Dove. I love it!
Thank you!! Love to hear that 🙏
@6:45!! Bruce!! I got my first guitar from him when I was 12!! 93 Ibanez SV470
Totally Awesome, I wanted to be here, but I was gigging, we live in N. Ft. Myers, so maybe next year, you guys ROCK!!! Rock On & God Bless.
I love that you buy basses also..not just guitars..that blue strat was pretty sweet....
You mean the Florida Blue Stratocaster with maple neck?
I liked that one.

Yes and yes. Those were my two favorites too. 🤘
It’s like a gun show, only awesomely life affirming and cool!

another awesome show- great to see Kaylie out and about too
The Tim Armstrong guitar was sweet

Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful weekend Alex and gang ❤😊
More screen time to Kylie! I'd happily donate $10 for an in-depth interview, and I'm sure other fans will join the initiative.
Funny seeing musicians in a tropical climate in shorts pasty and pale, musicians suited more to cold weather
I have one of those Dregen dots. thought you might want to know they have Gibson USA 57 classic humbuckers in them.
Sweet show !! Cool trades !!!
My favorite was Silver Deluxe Strat 👍
One more great episode 👌👏👏👏👏👌
Thank you!! 🙏
My husband and I stopped by on Saturday morning.
Dang I saw signs on the road for the show and wanted to go but I already have a guitar and as a beginner I can’t really justify another until I get better 😅😂 I gotta go next year

nice those vola guitars, made at dyna gakki
Yes!! Super cool, I’m really impressed!
Are you trying to sell guitars or just trade them?
Supro!
Hey brother I’m looking for a good deal on a Gibson dove black Elvis guitar 🎸 let me no if U see one at a deal
I don’t understand how you make money if all you’re doing are trades?
plus paying for those booths ...can't be that cheap.
Likely making money through sales, and just using this to rotate old inventory . Also, they probably aren't straight up trades, and cash is added on one end.
Alex, why don’t you ever let us hear the deal taking place or show us the price on your guitars? Would really add to the videos
Cuz he's trying to sell them for a profit.
@@BrewPackBuck12 and? Show us the negotiation? It won’t stop us from buying 😂

Sadly I live in the Sarasota area and had no idea about the show ! 😢
Next one May 17th-18th 2025
Free piano ? Who's gonna feed it ?
I don't think the girl likes being on camera
Bro stop show the guitars. Camera man need some help here
Meh..
I appreciate Kay filling in🫡 I’ll have to make sure I wear my proper uniform for the next show
We appreciate cousin and Kay 🫡🫡🫡
Pretty cool that peopke can come in there and trade for something of equal value.
Great content,,really appreciate it!😊

Were there any localish to area builders/luthiers there?

Was a great show
I agree, the "Homespun feel" makes a difference.
I don’t always buy refins … but when I do I’m all in
😂😂😂 always seems to happen this way

Ayee that’s awesome!

My husband just got me a lefty Stratocaster squier so now I have to learn 🎸🎸
You should say "love to see it" for a .. Esteban guitar or a starcaster
It would be a sarcastic “love to see it” at best 😂
Esteban all original with case and hat

The variety of textures in the kislux pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
That Ampeg bass is a Big Stud, if you didn’t get an answer already
That sunburst melody maker was nails
Proof the everyone goes right, I never saw any of those guitars. Good for you man.
Interesting!! I know a lot of them came straight to us for specific trades, but I’m sure we were lucky and got a few that never made the rounds!
Ampeg big stud. Or lil stud.
Jazzmaster and that Epi Dot Signature with skull guitars were my favorites. Who’s the artist for that?
Dregen, guitar player for Backyard Baby’s and The Hellacopters
@@GC-dd8it thanks!
I guess UA-cam does not want anyone looking at any of their UA-cams ...
dude traded an deluxe for a vintera mexico? bad move
Was not a Mexico one! It was a pretty high spec Japan vintage reissue
Is Alex going to get a tan
I am so there next year!
