We Only Sell Fender and Gibson? (And Other Questions)
A few months ago I answered some of your questions about guitars, gear, and running an online guitar shop. I'm back again to answer more questions!
Today I'll be going over things like: Why do we sell mostly Fender and Gibson guitars? Why do we only do vintage guitars? (Spoiler: we don't.) Why do we buy guitars in Japan / why do we buy US guitars in Japan instead of MIJ guitars? (Watch more of our videos..) Did I buy the Guitologist's hardtail strat? And so on.
If you have any questions you'd like me to answer, be sure to comment them below!

This Poor Vintage Gibson Guitar...

On the recent trip to Texas, I found a great example of a 1964 Gibson Melody Maker. A week later back home in Florida, I found a VERY different 1964 Gibson Melody Maker... I try to pick choice examples or quality player's grade vintage guitars usually for the shop, but sometimes when you find something interesting and different you gotta grab it. Join me as we take a deep dive into this vintage...

We stopped by Charley's Guitar Shop, Grapevine Guitar Loft, Competition Music, and a few other spots. Saw some awesome guitars like a Gibson Firebird, Fender Jag-Stang, Gibson J-45, Gibson SG, and so much more. Come along and see what all we got in...

Of course we brought some staples l...

A few weeks ago I got an email about a package arriving and I honestly had NO IDEA what was going to show up! One of my friends in Japan ended up telling me it was a surprise. So, today we're unboxing some mystery guitars, basses, and pedals! Lots of Made in Japan guitars (MIJ guitars) I'm sure. Might be some Guyatone or Teisco guitars? THEN, a few weeks after that ANOTHER package showed up...e...

    Loved that 3 pick up LP Custom, maybe more than the 'burst. There is something about them that just screams 'top of the line'.

    This might sound crazy but that body can actually be saved. All a guy needs to do is cut a straight surface where each "horn" used to be, cut a mortice then sister on two pieces of identical wood (hopefully aged) with a tenon and glue. With good finish skills a guy could either stain it or repaint if burst (which would hide any joint seams). Add vintage pickup/s and harness and return this great instrument back to its original glory.

    Hell yea my comment made it in the video (la dispute one), I guess if I could add another I just picked up a hybrid ii stratocaster and more of a PSA for the people out there who are interested, Japanese "modern C" necks are slightly thicker than American "modern C" neck profiles, also mine had a lot of noticeable tool marks on the edges from the fret edge rolling job they did, doesn't bother me much, but I am sure it'll bother others, have you guys noticed that on MIJ hybrid ii necks? Mine is rosewood, Thanks again and keep it up!

    Speaking of Charvel and Jackson. A lot of people don't realize that back in the day when Grover Jackson controlled both companies...the Jacksons were all of their set-neck and neck-through offerings....whereas the Charvels were all of their bolt-on models. To me..when speaking of the original Jackson and Charvels and which are better, that fact ends the debate. To me, a bolt-on is always going to be inferior. When spending real money on a guitar, I want to buy a guitar that is built....not a guitar that is assembled, as most bolt-ons are. You could train a monkey to assemble Fender guitars, for example. There really isn't much that could go wrong. Whereas, when building a guitar with a set neck, a lot of things can go wrong that could/would render the guitar unplayable. So the person have to have skills.

    Left handed guitars are pointless. When someone starts playing guitar for the first time, it doesn't matter what hand you use. I shoot right in hockey, and left in baseball. People that get left handed, have a lonely guitar path.

    • @jettblack044
      @jettblack044 4 дні тому

      Totally disagree. Everyone has a dominant hand which may or may not be right. I play left handed. Started as a teenager. Playing right handed did not feel right. Yes it has been tough finding good left handed guitars over the years but it was the right way for me.

      A good example of a collectible Squier is the Ryan Jarmin signature Mus Uar - it’s a mustang/Jaguar hybrid and they only made 150 or so. He’s the guitarist from The Cribs

    Gotcha that makes sense! I originally followed your channel because you responded to a comment of mine on a Casino Guitars video where I pointed out that y'all had a Yamaha SBG2000 that was seemingly overlooked. I came here hoping for more deep dives into obscure or underrated instruments like that SBG but noticed the Fender/Gibson trend seemed to be stronger here.

    Hey guys this was a really awesome video! I and I'm sure many others appreciate that you guys decided not to attempt any shenanigans "restoring" a piece like this! A lot of vintage guitar enthusiasts will have this common sentiment that they love guitars with a story or history, but whenever they find one that was unique or didn't have the right history, then they go on about how it was ruined and many attempt to destroy such examples by "restoring" it to more generic, period-correct specs. I personally find this practice to be VERY distasteful, as it is quite frankly extremely disrespectful to the guitar itself and it's history, and in general to the notion itself of cool vintage guitars with a story. Such a shame that the same folks who claim to love vintage history would destroy it without a second thought, because undesirable examples are better whitewashed from history it seems... Anyhow, keep Rocking guys! \m/ I subscribed because of this video, awesome demo btw...
