I am leasing a 2024 premium plus trim. With the $7500 federal rebate and other incentives, my out the door price on which the lease was based was about $60K.
The styling is my favorite thing about it. It’s…. normal. The price, however, is just silly.
F150 lightning platinum has a sub 4 second 0-60 and a much bigger battery. Buying a q8 etron for 85k is insane, but buying a used one with a few miles on it for 55k is a much more reasonable cost.
You lost me at “starts at about 85,000”
Ahh it will be 45k in 6 months. If etron history has anything to go by
Just get one used. It loses 50k of the value in 1 year. Amazing deal for 50k, one of the best used EVs on the market.
@@00_UU congrats, that should be a good vehicle for a long time to come,
lol @ electric vehicles being more reliable according to consumer reports evs are the least reliable cars on the market.
AND less than 300 miles with that huge better AND 170KW max charging speed FOR $85K. Hard pass.
Not bad car but 85K is a joke.
Hope you are ok buddy, seem a bit short of breath. Wishing you good health. Been watching your videos for years.
Looking at that thumbnail, if that charger can charge it then it really is the perfect EV. "Bluetooth" charging will be a revolution.
😂😂 I was thinking asphalt power
I’m guessing less than 4,000 units will be sold in the USA. $85k good luck.
These seem a like a good deal used, especially if you can get an extra warranty from Audi. Range has gone up over the years but this car looks just like the 2019 Etron Prestige with very low miles that a coworker of mine bought for about $35,000 including the extra warranty from Audi. I've seen the premium 2019's going for the mid 20's and 2021 and 2022 etrons going for the mid 30's. They do not have huge range but my understanding is that they have a good charge curve which means they hold a decent charging speed for a long time. My coworker let me drive his and the massage is amazing. It's very large and very nice.
Roman in that marathon car vid production zone. Superstar, leading by example, kudos Roman, you survived!!
280 miles of range sucks for a vehicle that size with 106kw battery (unless it is highway only)
A family relative of mine has this car and complains about its range. Says he only gets 220 miles on a full battery in FL. So it’s consistent with what you’re seeing on the range gauge.
$90k and only 220mile range? That's outrageous
here you can drive in september 2024 over 550 km on the german Autobahn. Who knows what people in Florida are doing with it but here with not much AC we get the range but we can empty that same battery within 300 km at 200 km / h Autobahn highspeed and regeneration of.
The Q8 is my 3rd etron and the best one of the 3. However, I could use another 50 miles of highway range for my trips to Delaware. Finally, the price of the Prestege model is pretty stiff.
Roman, I enjoyed your "philosophical" take on not only the Audi Q8 e-tron but on the EV versus ICE and "panache" and "excitement" factors. I do think that it is possible to have an engaging, even an exciting EV - but, clearly, the Q8 e-tron may not be everyone's exciting cup of tea.
Here is a fact that you should incorporate into your videos because one piece of information that you guys always say is actually quite incorrect. Chargers are built into the MOTORS of evs. The small box and cord that comes with every EV is actually and properly called an EVSE. They are not called chargers. Yes stupid people will call them chargers just because they’re too dumb to learn this and refuse to learn it. However, please call them what they are properly called. EVSE.
On my third German car. They drive and ride the best. Made for the Autobahn.
Of course, nobody drives below 20% for fear of not finding a charge station, and nobody charges above 80% because it takes all day. Therefore you have 60% of advertised range, which would work out to re-charging every 160 miles.
Yea that garbage
I like a lot of things Tesla does, but their interiors are not one of them. The Audi E-tron interiors blow the Tesla's away IMO and they don't feel cheap and minimalistic but more like their ICE vehicle interiors. I drove the original E-tron and really enjoyed the driving experience overall and the fact it doesn't look like an EV, per say. Audi does need to improve their battery range and charging speed game as they are getting left behind.
It's kind of odd that Audi, being a performance company, is releasing a slower than market EV......
Used to have a 2019 e-tron. It's quiet, looks, feels and drives great, but ends about there. The electronics laggy and slow, the menus and settings are buried and awful. Even the electronic door handles lagged to the point where the door wouldn't open immediately if you pulled on the handle too fast. The car also reminded you to get an OIL CHANGE every few thousand miles. The EV route planner was basically useless, and if you want all connected features, you have to pay Audi $50 a month for the privilege of using their slow, buggy and laggy app. That's on top of the panoramic sunroof leaking, despite multiple trips to the dealership for a fix. The fragrance dispenser was really nice though
But didn’t Roman bash the eTron in the grumpy video? 😂
The Q8 & Q4 e-Trons depreciate a LOT- they cost about half what the new ones do, making them a pretty compelling choice if you like the Audi vibe.
Wow - the Autopark really sucks! It took up 5 parking spaces! 😁

Plan on getting a used low mile one. Perfect for the daily commute.
Wtf 280 miles range car for $80 k
Probably one of the least efficient ev on the market, But their charge curve is much better than teslas so the recharge time is actually better
just a bargain if you get it in a proper deal.
280 miles range is the usual german underestimation real world is above 500 km , roughly 550 km at least in september 2024 on a german highyway crossing the country.
Of cause not a full speed drive if you wanna be fast. You need to be smart to get the most out of it. We were able to drive 550 km, but you can reduce that to below 300 but than those 300 are done quite fast over 200
So you get what you are paying for - pay less and get less.
I own this Car. You are wayyy too optimistic
@@rudolfbrandstotter5405 with the range or price drop?
@@vxnova1range. It is rallye bad
Looks 1000 times better than any tesla
I can’t help thinking that the same company that makes this also puts fake exhaust tips on the gas version ? Weird right! But they did provide that little storage space up front on this which is good because if you take a engine out there should be a large space left , I would think the electric motor would be lower in the frame.
If it were an Audi A1,A2, S2, TT, 80 or 90 then sure, it'll be the best. But since this is yet another ubiquitous, affluent crossover-SUV - then Nah!

Looks like a $55,000 car. Audis all look the same and look dated since they haven't changed the design in so long.
The question is if the sq8 variant the equivalent to the macan turbo s ev. You also mention Tahoe but at least with this you don’t have to worry about the engine blowing up 😂 those LTs not built like the LS.
All these frunks and no one ever thought about putting a spare tire in there? There's no internal combustion engine, so it doesn't even get hot in there.
this one's really long in the tooth. Other than a larger battery it's still the same car as it was in MY2019. Go for the new Q6 e-tron or get a used '19 for $30k
It’s great if you charge at home only. Great for commuting. And yes, I’m an EV owner.
Model X way better and 79K starting price well equipped
Model X is hideous, and those falcon doors scream “I need attention.”
@@NomenClature-o8sif you want an EV but don't like the styling of a tesla then get a lightning.
Why not just get a Model X? More seating, more storage, more range, more performance, faster charging, better charge network, and cheaper.
A lot of people are turned off the minimalist interior. I am holding off from a tesla because I want one with an instrument cluster lol
This vehicle does not have a third row sir
Piano black send it back
Why no Tesla plug? Don’t understand new cars with J1772.
Please don’t buy it new. I brought a 22 S model last year with only 15k and Audi certified for 58k

Hmm. Not 300+ miles range, slow and non-NACS charging. Hard to swallow.
Q8 used to differentiate itself based on its ability to deliver a performance edge to a luxury package. My AWD IONIQ 5 delivers a bit more punch and better charging credentials but less luxury; though it’s comfortable and composed. Where do buyers place their value in, if not just in a badge. 11:49
Nothing 'perfect' about this
I think a modern EV (especially at this price range,) should be a software-defined vehicle not only a mean for point a to b, but a secondary living space by fully utilizing its electric nature... How about dedicated electric platform?, V2L?, better power efficiency (and better charging efficiency)?,, This looks like just another European luxury cross-over that's extra expensive just because it's an electric, while offering nothing new than a Tesla from 10yrs ago could offered. Boring and disappointing.
It’s a big overpriced station wagon. Pick one up on the used market that’s 3-4 years old for 50% off MSRP.
90k is Absolutely insane, Kia EV9 is better, Genesis Electrified GV70, even BMW.
The only one that is better is BMW iX. Koreans have great electric motors, but interior ergonomics is lacking.
Does it cost under 35k? Does it fill up in under 5 minutes? Then not perfect
Nothing cost under 35k new unless it’s the base of base models with manual roll down windows 😂😂😂 but seriously you asked if an Audi is under 35k 😂 Not sure what that obsession is about filling up in 5 minutes. Just plug it in at home and boom max range the next day. If you can plug in your phone you can do the same to the car. 🤷🏽♂️
@@remsterx I can get a new Camry with heated seats for 33k and doesn't raise my already high electric bill. Thanks
I haven't made the switch yet myself but charging once per week in my garage while I sleep sounds pretty sweet
99% of cars aren’t worth more than $50k but alas, here we are.
You and your random uninformed fake statistics 😂
Trust me university 😂😂😂😂
Audis were never "cool" persay. They are smooth, used to be advanced in tech at the time, lighting was ahead of others, and stealthy in all the collors of the german silver/grey rainbow.
@@fantomtuba Audi used to be a sporty, yet comfortable and slightly cheaper competition to Mercedes and BMW. Now Audi is becoming overpriced and outdated. But Audi RS7? They are still very cool, although many people don’t know what they are.
E-Xciting.
First
Review as boring as the car.
What a boring vehicle
Snoring 💤
Audi, BMW and Mercedes have all dropped the ball, for the most part,on the design of their EVs. Nothing really pleasant to look at. Plus, after a few years they are half the price or less.
Drive BMW iX. It is absolutely the best EV on the market and it actually looks somewhat normal. This Q8 may be as good, I haven't driven it yet.
@@00_UU Thanks. I just can't get used to the styling of the iX, but I do prefer it over the look of the EVs from Mercedes like the EQE or EQS.
@@bigheadrec yes! Mercedes EVs look like big blobs on wheels. They also have over-engineered overwhelming super-expensive center console screens. BMW took a more minimalistic approach inside the iX and the interior is very clean, spacious up front with great ergonomics. The only thing I really disliked about the iX were frameless door windows. They get loose and wobble after just 10,000 miles. Absolutely unacceptable on a 100,000 dollar car.
@@00_UU A friend of mine leased an EQS SUV and it's surprisingly nice. A bit busy on the inside and it looks like a blob on the outside, but the menus were surprisingly easy to learn and the driving experience is incredibly pleasant
elektrosmog fire trap
Ya but it can burn down your house or garage!! Not a chance!
Which is more likely if you have a gas vehicle, then an electric. You might wanna actually do some research into electric versus gas fires. You would be surprised to know that your gas vehicle is far more likely to burst in flames than an EV.
Knowledge is good. You should learn that.
I saw a gas volvo burn in a parking lot today..
