  • If you've watched any of the videos on my channel before you will know that I am a huge advocate for diet playing a major role in the development and progression of Multiple Sclerosis. As I have discussed this I have had many questions asking what exactly I do eat during an average day. So I thought it best to record a day of eating for me, including everything that I ate in that specific day.
    Hopefully you find it useful for if you are looking to stat a diet to combat an autoimmune issue whether it be Multiple Sclerosis or another issue you may have.
    Let me know in the comments if you have any questions at all, or let me know what other diets you have tried!
    Stay tuned for more videos and hit subscribe if you would like to follow my journey and hopefully we can learn from one and another and live an incredibly healthy life.
    Let me know where you are at in your journey in the comments below and let me know what has helped you come to terms with your diagnosis and what has helped you take control.

    Hi in the colder months soup is a great alternative to smoothies. You can make a big pot and freeze some in individual portions. Easy to get lots of greens in. I’m doing Wahls diet. Thanks for sharing

    I have started the Best Bet Diet as well I have MS have had it for 20 years. I have noticed a difference in a short period of me trying the Diet and I’m so focused on making this my life. I want to wake up pain free and with no stiffness. I have done fresh kale with olive oil and 3 garlic cloves mashed with some roasted potatoes in a pan and some chicken breast and it’s delicious for lunch kept me full and focused without feeling hungry and tired

    hi Tom! Thanks for posting about your journey! You are one of the first youtubers with MS i started to fallow when I was diagnosed in 2021. I just saw Living Proof back then and I related alot with your journey on trying to figure out which diet/ treatment etc. should fallow. Seeing how helpful are these videos for me and other people, I am thinking to start a channel also in the hope I can help others with ideas, but also maybe will keep me accountable when it comes to diet and exercise :) but i need more courage :)) My question are: Does Oatley break the fast? I am also trying to do intermitting fasting, so I gave up my teaspoon of honey in it as I thought is only permitted black. In terms of the bread- which brand do you use? I live in Vienna- Austria and I find it hard to find gluten free breads that do not contain soy (as i think in BBD soy is also not ok, correct me if I am wrong) I found one that I like that is made from patato, but I would like more options. Thanks and best wishes to you on your journey!

    I make salads for lunch that are a mix of cooked veggies - cut green beans, beets, spinach, carrots, broccoli, artichoke hearts, olives, really whatever you have on hand - with a bit of rice or quinoa, a protein like salmon or chicken or boiled egg, a few nuts and a dressing of extra virgin olive oil, herbs, and lemon or orange juice or vinegar. I like to add crushed red pepper flakes for some zing. It's easy, adaptable, filling, delicious.

      @tomgarbett77  2 роки тому +1

      Ah another liver lover then! Haha yes that's a shame because lamb liver is definitely my favourite. I'm sure you can still make some really nice meals with chicken liver though. They always say across the animal kingdom all carnivores, typically the first thing they will go for is the liver, because it is the most nutritious part of the body! So I always try to get it in when I can.

    Have you tried baking spinach and tomatoes (add carb)? It's delicious...chicken cutlets, tomatoes, and spinach 350° for 45 minutes. I drink a veg smoothie every day too, only I use almond or coconut milk. Take care!

    • @tomgarbett77
      @tomgarbett77  2 роки тому +1

      No I haven't actually, but I will definitely give it a go because that sounds right up my street! Do you season it with herbs and/or garlic at all too?
      But yes I quite often use coconut milk in my smoothie as well, really helps give it a creamy flavour I think!

    This seems like a good diet, I haven’t been diagnosed yet but I’m having some MS symptoms I have Neuro appointment in Feb. I have tried Keto before and really missed eating fruits this might be a good one to try. Do you have a linked website to the diet you’re on? I am also trying to stay off medication 💊 and use healthy eating and CBD instead.

But yes here is a link to MS Hope which is the diet I am on called the Best Bet Diet: mshope.com/ I think you are doing the right thing in looking to make dietary changes straight away as the sooner you can do this, the better! Similar to you I enjoy carbs too much so this diet is a great balance for me.

    Hello tom, i think rice is not recommanded for ms patients sow what do you think

    • @tomgarbett77
      @tomgarbett77  2 роки тому +4

      From what I can see out there, rice is okay in moderation. Any non-gluten grains you should minimise. I also have basmati rice and cook it with coconut oil which helps to make it a resistant starch which is much better for your gut microbiome too. Hope that helps!

    • @tomgarbett77
      @tomgarbett77  2 роки тому +1

      I haven't heard of weight loss directly resulting from MS, so that sounds strange. But yes possible it is stress related or potentially your gut health needs to improve perhaps? Is your diet generally good and healthy?
