Snailed no doubt about it, the dog is okay. A few years back my old black lab got stuck in a frozen tiny pit of water. Had to call the firemen and they got out here quick. She was not happy, and was shaking and wouldn’t walk for hours after. But, given vet medical technology nowadays we are well prepared to treat things like this, even if they’re lives get very close due to the cold.

@@KeithsReviews Yep....a woman who jumped in after her dog fell in a lake, ended up drowning while the pup survived. It's definitely better to wait for rescue, but I can't imagine how gut wrenching it would be to see your doggo in that kind of situation.

I love dogs and cats but I would never risk my life for one. They can be replaced, I can't. It would be extremely selfish of you to die trying to save a dog and leave your kids, wife, husband, parents, and whoever you love behind. If your dog is all you have, then maybe...but I wouldn't be stupid about it.

The doggo is okay and had a overnight full recovery and was released the next day.
Source: Meet Jake! This MedVet patient has recently entered the spotlight after falling into a frozen lake at a family farm in Galloway. He was rescued by the Prairie Township, Franklin County, OH Fire Department and treated by Dr. Rita Akers at MedVet’s Hilliard location. We kept him overnight for observation, but with warm rice socks, space heaters, lots of blankets, and his owners, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the fire department, and his MedVet family cheering him on, his temperature returned to a normal range and he was discharged this morning. Yay, Jake!

It's good that you weren't there and it wasn't your dog then. People underestimate cold water hyperthermia. In about two minutes your legs would go numb then give out then you'd both be in the water unable to get out. Animals can last a lot longer in cold water than you can. Also that dog would have died in your house next to the fire. He needed to be warmed up much more quickly than that!

That's not an ambulance, it's a fire rescue truck. it's part of the fire department. Ambulances belong to privately owned companies like Acadian. That is where one gets a high bill from. they most likely didnt even transport the dog anywhere so the whole thing was probably free of charge because the only people who helped were city employees, who get paid via the taxpayer already. (There might have been a bill if they gave the dog any medicine but it would just be the price of that)
Edit: finished watching the video and they said they transported him and hes staying in a room... so yea thats probably gunna be a bill...
