Solution, dog has a collar on. put the lap belt from the passenger seat through the collar so the dog has to stay in the passenger's seat. Or if you have a door handle that you can tie the leash to. Best yet, leave the dog at home til you get the dog restraint from the boyfriend, but then again maybe the dog IS her boyfriend.
Maybe you should just train your dog to sit nicely in the car . I can have mine in the passenger seat and she just quietly takes in the view
Why couldn’t she have put the stuff in the front seat...then she wouldn’t have stuff on top of her tire, and the dog would have room in the back...don’t see how that was hard to figure out before she ever left the house...

Officer is right. Driving with that dog jumping in and out of her lap is dangerous to her, to the dog, and to other people who might be hurt if she'd lose control while driving the car. Running late to an appointment at a tire shop is no excuse for that situation of negligence.

I know of an individual who let his black lab hang around the vehicle like that, the dog jumped on him while he was driving. Got in a major crash, sad to say he is no longer alive because of that incident. That cop saved your life lady.

With as many times as she pushed that dog back, the dog would have flinched a lot more if she was beating him. She threw a cord so he flinched. another thing is you don't know when she got that dog.. and you don't know what it's past owners were like. Please don't always just assume it's the owner that has the dog now who's abusive. when you rescue an animal that's been abused it takes quite a long time sometimes for them to come around and trust you... sometimes those behaviors never leave even if you've never laid a hand on your animal. However I didn't like her attitude the way she was pushing the dog back constantly. I'm more concerned with that than I am about the dog flinching bc of her throwing a cord.. that was just plain old common Sense on the dogs part. If somebody throws something towards your face aren't you going to flinch too?

Lady Scarface yeah right... she’s overweight plus she acted like a complete child. Just because that officer was doing his job doesn’t mean he wanted to hit that. It could of been a 50 yr old man in the car with the dog it would of been the same outcome. Most cops are decent people. The small percentage that mess up get all their short comings grouped together with the rest of them.

It doesn’t matter how big the dog is, they don’t belong on your lap when you’re driving. Dogs should always be secured somehow. Small dogs go in a carrier and large ones should have a seatbelt (they do make special ones for dogs). It may seem silly to pull someone over for this, but that was a recipe for an accident.
Even if it's small an accident can easily kill your dog if you don't hVs it secured so yeah, doesn't belong in your lap
Even with my cats, I wouldn't have them on my lap at all. They stay in the carrier when I transport them all the time

My lil chihuahua would freak out, we can’t put her in a carrier as she is special needs(anxiety,epilepsy,bowel problems,and half blind) and if she falls at a turn, then she could break a bone

rcg adventure totally! I wouldnt want to get hit by her because the dog steps on the wheel and jerks her car into mine. How do people not get this. Maybe training your dog might be a good idea too. I mean whats worse? Moving stuff out of a trunk or totalling your car and someone elses? Or possibly hurting someone?
