Probably to sooth himself down. he was visibly distressed. He even mentioned "His mom wasn't home" which shows the mom probably would've handled this but since she wasn't home he panicked.

Agreed but it was still really stupid to be driving that fast over a minor dog bite. If you got twins at home why not leave the older kids there to watch them and only take the son who got bit? Not the best decision making under pressure by the dad

And notice how he didn't get shot, tased, or anything? He was nice and complying and they didn't even give him a ticket. Almost everything would go smooth like that if there were smart people like him.

i m sure the other offices on scene had told him to do that its just a safety
precaution at that point
he probably did that in case he was about to get out of the car to talk to the cops, that lets them know that you are going to comply, and that you are being cautious of everyone's safety

This happened to me as a kid! I got stitches for a severe clear scratch and mom got pulled over doing 70 in a 55 because we couldn't afford an ambulance. Cop was cool and let us go.
I didn't see a mortal wound, I saw a bandaged arm. The kid wasn't even crying, he wasn't visibly upset.

A) insurance usually covers ambulance rides b) their was no reason to be driving over 100mph for that, he got off
carston toedter you either don’t live in the usa or have never ridden in an ambulance. We have good PPO insurance and we still got slapped with a fat bill for a ride. The insurance covers a lot of it, but the cost is so unregulated and over inflated that your share can still easily be several hundred if not thousand.
Then the dad should have driven responsibly.
Next time just call an ambulance and let the professionals charge you $3,824.74 for the 4 mile trip. What heroes

Juan Gutierrez) Have you ever heard of rabies? Obviously not. If that kid would’ve gotten rabies and the dad didn’t take him to the hospital, do you know how awful that would make the dad feel? Plus, rabies is deadly and causes seizures.

I understand he was driving at unsafe speeds and it’s too dangerous. But calling for a ambulance and being transported is way more expensive than a speeding ticket. I kind of see where this dad is coming from. Health care is ridiculously expensive.
To those of you who are complaining about the cops calling an ambulance here is the reason for it. If you, the licensed citizen, is caught going at high rated speeds the officers following you do not know what is going on all they know is that you are endangering your life and the lives of others. Once they pull you over if you don't have an emergency one or two things will happen, they will either cite you for the amount you went over or you could be arrested for reckless endangerment and reckless driving. In the case of an emergency the police are required to call for an ambulance. No matter what the emergency. If an ambulance cannot reach the location of the traffic stop the police are allowed to do whatever is necessary to get the victim(s) to the hospital. In this case the officers did the right thing. Yeah they may get billed for the ride to the hospital, but it's better than the dad being taken to jail for reckless driving and reckless endangerment of a minor.
I got bit by a bat once at night and my mom waited until after dateline was done b4 she took me to the hospital. LMAO!!!!

When my 2-year-old daughter started bleeding from her mouth, nose, ears and everywhere else, I was freaking out 10 times as bad -- must have been doing at least 100 mph to the hospital. Turns out she had a rare blood disorder, but thankfully it was curable. She's as healthy as ever and on her way to college next year.
Nobody asked wtf. We aren't here for your stories we are here for Live PD.

And now he'll be paying thousands of dollars for an ambulance. I understand the speeding, but they could of at least kept that in mind. The ambulance cost is better than continuing his reckless endangerment. Putting his family and others on the roadway at risk is no excuse to not pay for an ambulance. The cop was nice to just give a warning.
