- This is the original mono version of this song. Stacked lyrics by Karen Philipp. The instrumental is different too. Personally, I prefer this version more than the album / greatest hits version.
Proof that she was an excellent singer.
I love Karen Phillips
A lot of us do, especially after the photo shoot she did for Playboy.

I loved Karen...❤
Just WOW!!!!! What a great version of this song! This lady's voice is transcendent!
even old Buffalo Springfield. Neil and the boys
Really a m a z i ng!¡!! This MUSIC its so Fantastic!! Love it as so much from South OF SPAIN!
I'd never heard this version of this song. Thanks for putting it on UA-cam.
Thank you for posting this rare cut. I also prefer it to the "official" STILLNESS version. Karen's vocals are sharper and Sergio's funky Fender Rhodes solo in the middle is right in front, where it is buried in the background of the album version. I wonder whether the crispness of this version was meant to be played on transistor radios, as it would have more aural 'punch' than the trance-like version on STILLNESS. Also thank you for the lovely slideshow of Miss Karen - the "Bossa Nova Blonde" of Brasil '66.
The only thing that I can think of is that the stacked vocals are for any tv "performance"s. It allows all the singers to be shown on tv. but that is kind of a stretch for a reason for the song. Mono 45s were the only thing available when this song was released (at least with Sergio's 45s.)
Wow, the old mono version rocks!
Thanks for sharing this version !
Spooky take on a spooky song, but I think they nail it. Same woman who does the vocals with Lani Hall on "Pretty World." And that video is simply stunning. A natural sense of rhythm this woman had in spades, and from birth.
Karen Phillips.
KAREN PHILLIPS ADDED SO MUCH TO 66 AND 77. SHE REALLY IS A COUNTLESS MANY OF THAT PRICELESS "60" ERA.
This is quite the take on a Buffalo Springfield tune. One would think this wouldn't hold up well but must admit it's actually remarkable..
only Brasil 66 can make a song like this so very Classy.. I think that it was last year some band tried to do this song and they destroyed it.
What a super ethereal voice Karen Philipp has.
Groovyness incarnate!
Thanks for not letting me die stupid :D
Since more than 20 Years, this song is truly one of my favourites. Until now i couldn´t find out, who the singer was.
Great version. I'm hearing a little bit of the Doors style on the keys.
well, i didn't know that sergio recorded this song.
in a good way?
Lovely Karen!...❤️
I met Karen Phillips at expo ‘70 Osaka. Unforgettable.
Is this the same Karen Philliips who played Lieutenanf Dish in 'M*A*S*H' ??
Yes. Philipp is the correct spelling of her last name.
Never heard this version before but I believe this is Karen Phillip. Unlike what is said a lot both Karen and Janice could both sing very well. And a lot of the songs you think you're hearing l a n i are actually Janice
I im love of karen philips
Idole
I didn’t know that ! 🤷🏻
when you hear those bars on gorgeous beaches playing the shittiest music you want to scold them for not knowing this
The is the Stillnes version. I didn't know they did a different version for the GH album!
Did Stephen Stills envision a cover like this?
Vot a DISH!😍
That's Lt. Dish to you. 👩🏻🦰😍👙
