Sergio Mendes & Brasil'66 with Bibi Vogel live (from Herb Alpert Is...)
This is from the "Herb Alpert Is..." documentary. It is about the history and early days of Sergio Mendes & Brasil'66.
The first Sergio Mendes & Brasil'66 album ("Herb Alpert Presents") only contains Lani Hall's vocals that were double tracked. (Lani and Lani) The cover of the album has a pic of Bibi Vogel as the other female singer. The back of the album has Janis Hansen. Janis sang on the "Equinox" and "Look Around" albums.
This video contains a live performance of Sergio & Brasil'66 with Bibi Vogel as the second female vocalist. The song is "Berimbau".

Sergio Mendes & Brasil'66 singing Chelsea Morning and (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay. Vocalists are Karen Philipp and Gracinha Leporace (Mendes) from 1971. The Dock of the Bay was a single from 1969. Karen lip syncs Lani Hall's solo.

Sergio Mendes "Nowadays (There was a time)" is featured on the 1980 album "Alegria". "Alegria" is an alternative version of the album "Horizonte Aberto". "Nowadays" is the english version of the title song "Horizonte Aberto". Both songs beautifully sung by Gracinha Leporace (Sergio's wife). Neither album was released in the US, but. "Horizonte Aberto" album is now available on iTunes.

This is the original mono version of this song. Stacked lyrics by Karen Philipp. The instrumental is different too. Personally, I prefer this version more than the album / greatest hits version.

Never heard this version before but I believe this is Karen Phillip. Unlike what is said a lot both Karen and Janice could both sing very well. And a lot of the songs you think you're hearing l a n i are actually Janice

Spooky take on a spooky song, but I think they nail it. Same woman who does the vocals with Lani Hall on "Pretty World." And that video is simply stunning. A natural sense of rhythm this woman had in spades, and from birth.
