    Yes, you love your mule, love and respect him too and get him a saddle that doesn't hurt him.

    I saw this video a little late, but I have to say that it is a perfect presentation, well detailed and clear. Thank you Mr. Gee, everything has been very interesting (sorry for the English, it is done with the translator)

    This is an extremely good and detailed video of how you analyze a mule's anatomy and how you make an actual saddle. A very interesting resource, not only for equestrians but for concept artists too! Thank you for this! :)

    Big red mules in the desert are the safest, the mule looks out for himself and in the process you too.

    Great guy who makes great tack. I’ve gotten a bridle, britchen, and breast collar from him and I wish I had one of his saddles.

    You had wheezing and mild shortness of breath when you made this video. I hope you have received good medical care and that you are ok. Great information by the way. I had a saddle made by Steve Edwards at one time. It was a pretty good saddle, but I had to sell it when I got older and needed the money. He makes a lot of saddles....or he used to. Haven’t heard anything about him in a long time. He’s in Queen Creek. AZ.

    A mula ao receber toques na polpa ficou excitada a partir do minuto 15 começou a piscar a vulva que pena o rabo ficou baixo. Muito linda a mula, e um animal dócil com o homem.

    With the newer none slip pads and girths along with the better bred mules all the breeching is not needed. But it does look good like customizing a 4wh drive.

    I've always used a crupper with my mule and I suppose that I started like many people, buy a mule and start learning about them. I've mostly looked down on britchen as inconvenient and unnecessary. I also didn't care for how they looked and thought that they interefered with their movement. This is probably due to the few times I've seen them worn on mules they werent fitted correctly. Watching your video, I can see the actual use & benefit. Thank you for that!
    I would be interested in your view on the McClellan Saddle as this is what I used on my mule mainly because most saddles for horses wouldn't fit her properly. Over time I've also noticed that not all mules have the same shape.

    I never had a real mule saddle always used a saddle by Tennessee saddlery with a custom britchin

  • @jefferyschirm4103
    @jefferyschirm4103 4 роки тому

    That mules got enough wither to hold any good saddle , wouldn't even need breeching, but it really looks nice. Poorly bred mules would need a quote, mule saddle.

    Good bredup saddle mules have enough withers to not need extra rigging.but I just like the looks. Tough like my mules.

      But do you want a mule that is more like a horse....presumably that's what a "better bred saddle mule" is. My mule is a mule, bred for work and endurance (I am from Portugal) and what Joseph G explains is exactly what most mule owners need to know (but many don't bother). Many thanks Joseph for your detailed explanation on saddle fitting.

    Do you have a template for your tree that I could try on my mule? I could give you a deposit or rental then send it back to you. I have a gaited mule that seems to be wider in front and narrow in back of rib cage. I really don't want to have a custom saddle made that does not fit her. I've tried a few bare trees and templates at an Amish saddle shop and a custom saddle maker that did not fit her. Yes, they were mule trees. :( Your saddle is beautiful and I would love it if it could work for my molly!!

      Save your and your horses, or mules butt when things go bad…and you never know when that will happen. Dogs under , or rushing your horse..motorcycles, cars too close, too fast..people on bikes with you on a narrow way….a tap doesn’t do it..they are flight animals..they barely feel a heel, voice when they are scared..Riding 60 years.
