4 days old and separated from his dam who is distressed calling for him, so you can run about on camera. That's cruel he needs his mother at that age!

Where’s his mama? He should be imprinted with her nearby.

Way to go ambushing that baby, any good horseman works babies with their mothers.

One nice little John Mule. Some people turn these little critters into dogs. Then when they get big, they don't know not to crowd you, give you room. You imprint the wrong impression of what you really want from them. You know more than me, but you know what I mean.

Why are you taking him away from his mother already? Leave them alone, let them be together, you'll get your time.

You need to let this baby be with its mama and quit trying to imprint with it right now you'll have plenty of time when it's older. If you just stand around with it and let it come to you as it want to it will learn to like people.

Are you supposed to pull the tail like that

    • @MiceAndMinecraft

as a retired instructor, stud manager, examiner and NVQ assessor in horse care & management, I can tell you that no, you should never grab a foal by the tail.

yeah don't agree with that method. instill fear instead of trust.
