This Song confirms my theory: EC is the equivalent of Rowdy Roddy Piper s Catchphrase : "You see, it's simple as this: Just when they think they got the answers, I change the questions."
The funny thing about all reactions to this song is that I spotted everyone is tearing up. And I can understand why, I do to. Most likely because it reminds the listener of a time with a lot less to worry about. Amazing to have a song transport that feeling in so little time shows the amazing musicianship
As a drummer, I love how both drummers have their own sets in the video with different drum sounds! With Electric Callboy and their covers, it's always a real collaboration and that's awesome.
It was one of the best days of my life, to be on set with these guys. Btw I'm behind David (the Drummer) with the grey shirt Thanks for the nice reaction video
You don’t usually see Kevin using electronics, but he actually used to play electronics until about the time that their album Rehab came out. It's pretty refreshing to see it again.
I heard older Electric Callboy songs but ever since Nico joined the band it made the band complete. Hypa Hypa is by far my favorite song they came out with and I do enjoy all the others prior to Fckboi but MY GOD this song hits the Nostalgia spot. Fun fact, my Wife hated hypa hypa and all the other songs. I let her listen to this song blind and she LOVED it. She was blown away when I said it was Electric Callboy. They are in my top 3 favorite bands. Wish I could make it out to their Austin or San Antonio shows.
I love a lot of the older Electric Callboy stuff, but I think it's easy for everyone to see that they've been totally rejuvenated when Nico joined. Everything is just clicking.
Kevin recently stated that with their old singer Sushi it was more of a fight while writing the songs. With Nico it's more like a working together and personally since Hypa Hypa they're so much fucking better.
Kiarely absolutely kills in this song. It’s such a different sound from both bands. Definitely check out more Conquer divide, you need to hear Janels voice too.
What I like about this one is that it’s two full bands playing together, which you don’t see too much. For most collaborations, it’s maybe just a vocal part or a guitar part, it’s not all that often you see a whole band. It would be dumb not to bring Conquer Divide out on stage when they do this live and I agree with Tank that crowds will get really hyped with this.
And when they come back from the USA, they will be on the tour with the new album in Europe again, but playing vastly bigger venues. Those venues where the next step up is the arena. I already have tickets for the Olympiahalle in Munich next March.
Me and my GF were on their show here in Prague (Czechia) this year and we definitely going next year again! They move from 800 capacity club (this year) to 2500 (next one), so it will be amazing :))
What i like most about the song is that it, just like with Spaceman, feels that EC are the one being featured. They take a step back, play Conquer Divides music and let them shine. The contrast between the voices is just great. No screaming and Niko is singing with a pretty soft, almost shy, voice while her parts are very powerful and self-confident.
Conquer Divides stuff is very different (and still awesome) and I love that I got to know them through Electric Callboy. But yeah, their features are true collaborations and that's so awesome. They don't just "hire" another artist to make money, they start complete projects with each feature.
The early 2000's pop-punk vibes of this video and song are impeccable. I'm getting Blink182, I'm getting Sum41, I'm getting Simple Plan, just. The. Best. With that added EC flair and a bit heavier on the guitar and drums. You can tell they were there ahahah, full-on nostalgia.
This song is pure healing for my teenage heart, and I have caught myself looking up all the good old fashion I used to wear in my punk/goth/emo phase back then. Maybe I can still wear a bit of it, even tho I'm a grown ass adult with a kid and a bankloan
The boys in the band just solidified that they are here to stay. Bringing on Mr. Sallach was a brilliant move, unbelievable voice. Huge props to Conquer Divide, they brought their A Game to the table. Thank You Tank, these breakdowns are amazing. I have always had a passion for music but due to the environment of my upbringing lacked any sort of means or support to divulge myself in the craft. Your gear breakdowns and Best Tour Bracket have really opened my eyes to a lot of the deeper ins and outs of the touring industry. I only wish UA-cam and your channel had been around in my formative years. Also, thank you to guys like yourself, Alex Hefner, Nick Nocturnal etc. for not just pushing Electric Callboy, but so many other great bands that may have been easy to miss new releases from if you weren’t actively following a band.
This Song did send me straight to the Past. This is the Music i listened to in the ealry and mid 2000s. Like you could timetravel back to 2002 and release that song and the Young Punkpoprock Crowd would swallow it up and want for more :D They managed to capture that period of Music perfectly without blatantly copying the Bands from back then
I love Electric Callboy, but this song...dude...i love this so much. Just brings me and other listeners I'm sure back to a MUUUCH simpler time in our lives in the early 2000's. No words, I love this band and can't wait to see them!
Absolutely love that you are far from afraid to show your emotions! Someone with the most passion for what they do! Amazing video as always Tank, honestly a huge fan 🙂
I loved finding this band through you! Germany have so many awesome metal bands. Lord of the Lost are another amazing German band. You might like their song Black Halo :)
To me this is skatemetal, the slightly rougher cousin of skatepunk. And I'm fucking there for it, sheesh this is going straight to where the early 2000s band left a gap that needed to be filled. Love it.
That song somehow reminds me of 'Skaterboy' by Avril Lavigne. And the way her voice sounds reminds me of Demi Lovato. It is a way different song than we got in the last months/years, but as awesome as always. Loving their music, loving your reactions.
I didn't watch/listen to this song until I just watched the reaction w/you and it's been stuck in my head. Got me all my HS days feels. Fucking love this band...
Going to so many great concerts this year - Architects, MCR, BMTH, Shinedown... but honestly so excited to see these guys in Brooklyn at the end of the year
Your face expression says more than 1000 words and that you are totally inside in this song. In a few moments I almost thought that you would immediately pull out a tear so your face looked
An unexpected song to be sure, but man I've been listening to it a lot in the past few days. I love how the boys just wrote a good pop punk song, without using any of the signature EC things (heavy electronics and slapping breakdowns especially). Love the vibe and I'm happy they did this.
I almost expected to read "Genre: Pop Punk - For Fans Of: Avril Lavigne, Sum41, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Blink182" in this description :D I love this song. Pop Punk from around 2000 is one of the genres I really liked and those songs still hold up for me and I still love them. This song here made me feel nostalgic and felt fresh at the same time. I really can't wait for that album to come out.
I love everything these guys release. They're really good at what they're doing and most of all, they have fun doing what they do. This song brings me back to a time when Avril Lavigne was popular and we were listening to Blink182, and I'm here for it ! Can't wait for the album to come out ! Thank you for this reaction Tank, have a nice day =)
This song hits hard on the memories of the early 2000th especially when one can see the tears in your eyes. Everyones whos grown up around this time is not just a fuckboi!
It's fucking amazing. They are all over the place. Everything from skatepark music to hardcore shit is covered and it's always so damn well produced. I can't get it. I don't want to get it. I'm not analyzing shit. This band is dope as hell.
I'm going to Blue Ridge Rock Festival and I cant can wait to see these guys and many many other bands. So many great names that are on that lineup too.
First time seeing it and I immediately liked the song. Unexpected? yes. Great? Hell yeah. It really gives off those old skaterpark vibes we had back then with a lot of songs. Nostalgia kicks in hard. I honestly never heard of Conquer Divide before (one reason to love Tank's channel, get to know new bands), but they sound really great and I will definitely check out more of their music. But honestly, the highlight for me in their video is that especially Nico seems to really have a great time. It really shows when Kia(?), the vocalist for Conquer Divide, is singing. He really seems to enjoy the whole thing a lot. They probably all had a great time, but Nico just really sticks out to me.
You are one of favorite music reactors. Even if your instrument explanations go clear over my head (I have zero knowledge), I appreciate you going into that type of depth, and putting your expertise to use. All of that aside, I love how emotional you get watching and listening to music. Literally the best example of what music should be doing for people. Whether it is hyped up excitement, or getting a bit weepy because of where the music took you in your memories. Keep up the fantastic reactions Tank! LET'S GOO!
This song made me feel old. I listened to it and was instantly thrown back to early noughties pop punk. Not just in sound, but also in the video. And then i realised that was two decades ago. When songs sounded like this, the soundtrack to GTA Vice City was more current than this sound is now.
I am really sorry I couldn’t watch this video yesterday - waited for ist already - but we had someone over. Couldn’t wait to see it today! And it is as awesome as I thought! Love it! You are my favorite music-reactor (ok the charismatic voice is pretty close ^^). I love it, that EC is always able to surprise you. It is an awesome song and I like it more the more often I listen to it. ^^ Thx for this reaction! Needed that! :)
I was waiting for this reaction. For me this song was a reminder of much easier times. And I freakin love this song as much as I love other songs from Electric Callboy. Keep up with good work Tank 😉
I can say I'm really surprised too and you explained it pretty well :) Already looking forward to see you touring along with them and maybe others youtubers in vlogs etc :D
Is it weird that I've been waiting all this time for your reaction? Days, man. Days!!! But srsly, anticipating your take on it. I love this new song. Yes, the nostalgia quota was met and exceeded with this one. So far you're the only one to comment on this song when it's played live during the tour in the Fall. Can't wait to see *that* live video. Appreciate your thoughts and missives about this one.
A glorious song, love everything about it and their duet at the end... What a gorgeous couple ❤ This is one of the best reaction channels and thanks for the education also!
I just wanted to say this, but after times of hearing how you teched for Country artists over the years, I just love how through your positivity and your value on UA-cam and twitch, that you get to do a full tour and tech for a band that not only do you love so much, but that you match with the proper vibes and energy with. I'm super happy for you and hope that you have the best time of your life with the German party bois :) Also, on Tuesday 7/19/22 my favorite Deathcore band Spite is releasing a music video for there upcoming album coming out August 19th from Rise Records. If you want pure filthy deathcore in a style similar to Knocked Loose, I highly recommend checking it out either on stream or UA-cam :)
Loved this reaction, all the info was super cool! I've been a fan of Conquer Divide for about 5 years and this tour made me find Electric Callboy and man they have absolutely taken over my life! I'm so sad that the Seattle show sold out before I could get tickets. I want to see this show so bad! Definitely got yourself a new sub though!
My first reaction when I listened to this song for the first time was: oh my God, I think I'm 13 again. 😅 I love this song. Also thanks for your reaction. Greetings from Germany ✌
I really envy you that chance to see this song live with both bands playing together.. I listened to Conquer Divide just after this song came out and now they are the one of my favorite bands, they are really great ;)
Love your reactions! All the information only a roadie could supply are a really adding value as well. Always supportive and insightful, never pandering or overacting. You gotta listen to more of Die Ärzte. There is a lot in there body of work covering all sorts of genres and topics, from 80's fun punk, to goth, to hardcore, oi, country, rock'n'roll, psychobilly, to arena rock, disco etc. They go places and are surprisingly proficient at their instruments for a three piece punk band and their on-stage chemistry is just a blast. Keep on rocking!
They're doing Good Things Festival in December in Australia too! I think it was We Got The Moves that was on the teaser promo before the setlist dropped and I was like "no fucking way!"
Your reactions are great! And I love that you love a variety of subgenres within one band, such as EC. Btw, I've discovered them only 4 weeks ago and I can say with 100% that they are now among my top 5 favorite bands of all time! And I'm 37 years old 😁 They seem like a great guys and I hope to be able to go to one of their shows somewhere, somehow (I'm from Serbia and they're not gonna come here, since i'm probably among 15 people in Serbia that actually knows about them 😔)
Conquer Divide also use digital systems. One AxeFX 2 XL+ and one Line6 Pod HD Pro. I don’t know, what the bass player uses, but I‘d guess some Darkglass or Tech21 DI… Also their drummer, Sam Landa, is an absolute unit.
Dude... I been wondering what you were going to say about this song. A friend in Germany (who I met because I found Feuerschwanz and they love that band too) let me know the video was going up (I already knew) and they really wanted to know what I thought. My response (and I'm 4:37 into your own video, Tank) was this felt like high school, for me. This song is their radio hit. This is how they break in America mainstream. I said this song doesn't have that metal(core)/techno/hard edge about it. This song is straightforward, mostly safe... there's no gimmicks, no funny wigs, no crazy breakdowns and solo... it feels like early 2000s pop-punk phase. It would fit comfortably next to Green Day, Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, etc. It's a great track, not personally a favorite of mine but that's fine. I like the song, it's catchy, easy, and fun. My friend felt this was a "Fuck You" to the promoters that didn't let them compete for Eurovision. That's probably also accurate lol Now to unpause for your reaction EDIT: Alright, we are basically on the same page. You name dropped Blink as well and also agreed they're an early-mid 00's pop-punk. It's so weird in 2022 we are getting an American pop-punk "skate theme" track from a German metalcore band. This song would totally be on Van's Warped Tour and the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater soundtrack
Thats soo true...its a much different song. Especially if goes bout Electric Callboy. But its really awesome song. Really Love this song. And we have Conquer Divide. So its much more cool. Thanks for your awesome reaction. 👊🤘
Gahhh!!! I adore Electric Callboy (plus Conquer Divide just got a new fan 🤩), and your views on the nostalgia is spot on!! It really hits the feels in the best ways 🧡
For those who haven't seen it: Something white flickers in the video at the beginning and end. When you pause you will see the smiley from Blink-182's "untitled" album. The eyes have been replaced by the EC logo but are also crosses like Blink-182.
I love the change from their usual music style, it sounded really good and was totally unexpected. Made me want to go listen to the music I listened 20 years ago.
I'm right there with you being a 32 year old from the south suburbs of Chicago this takes me back to hanging out at skate parks and in parking lots blasting pop punk and mid 2000s metal core
I keep listening to EC just becuase they always give u the "feel good" vibe especially on their most recent songs. Idk why, but on this song the feel good is like getting pushed into me so much straight away as soon as the first more calm phase of the song is over. Kinda sad this song wasnt out about 2 months ago when I was on their live show in Leipzig :D
Thanks so much for the reaction! Would love to see you react to one of our heavier ones!
I think we could make that happen...

I didnt understand myself why I did that too. Now I get it. Thanks!
Bravo 👏 I hear this song and I am instantly transported back to 2004 (age 15), along with the tidal wave of memories that brings.
Yup, and especially for people that were big into this sound in the early 2000's, I totally understand everyone's nostalgia and emotion with it.
Sooooo true !!!
I think a big part of their intention was “nostalgia”. A throwback to those days we all remember so well.
Nostalgia can be good. But it can't be your entire gimmick or you fall off fast.
And they did perfectly 😁 brings back memories.

See you at the PHX show! I was introduced to these guys thru one of your reactions and I'm loving it!
That song brings me immediately back to the beginning of 2000. simple Plan feat. Avril Lavigne. But with the Callboys sound. I love it.
I just wanted to say this, but after times of hearing how you teched for Country artists over the years, I just love how through your positivity and your value on UA-cam and twitch, that you get to do a full tour and tech for a band that not only do you love so much, but that you match with the proper vibes and energy with. I'm super happy for you and hope that you have the best time of your life with the German party bois :)
Also, on Tuesday 7/19/22 my favorite Deathcore band Spite is releasing a music video for there upcoming album coming out August 19th from Rise Records.
Me too. The song send me straight to my youth. 2000s skate punk
she sounds like avril lavigne and it pairs great with EC. Love it
My first reaction when I listened to this song for the first time was: oh my God, I think I'm 13 again.
Hell yeah, bro! See you in Colorado!!
Your reactions are great! And I love that you love a variety of subgenres within one band, such as EC.
Btw, I've discovered them only 4 weeks ago and I can say with 100% that they are now among my top 5 favorite bands of all time! And I'm 37 years old 😁
They seem like a great guys and I hope to be able to go to one of their shows somewhere, somehow (I'm from Serbia and they're not gonna come here, since i'm probably among 15 people in Serbia that actually knows about them 😔)
Conquer Divide also use digital systems. One AxeFX 2 XL+ and one Line6 Pod HD Pro. I don’t know, what the bass player uses, but I‘d guess some Darkglass or Tech21 DI…
Also their drummer, Sam Landa, is an absolute unit.
That's probably also accurate lol
Now to unpause for your reaction
EDIT: Alright, we are basically on the same page.
Bought my tickets for Colorado Springs the second they went on sale!!! Cannot wait!!!
Very interesting to hear 2 different drum and guitar tones and playstyles between the 2 bands
imagine this song at the esc with germany and england starting together as one team
This is the reaction I've been waiting for, this is probably my favorite from them by far.
For those who haven't seen it:
Something white flickers in the video at the beginning and end.
When you pause you will see the smiley from Blink-182's "untitled" album. The eyes have been replaced by the EC logo but are also crosses like Blink-182.
They're coming down under too in early December, I can't wait 😀
That was fucking great. I was getting A Day to Remember, Senses Fail circa 2009 vibe, and that makes me so happy!
Great reaction as always.👍🤘
And: Tank, please I NEED a video of your face when Ingrid will tell you in some years: "Daddy play the 😵peeeep song!" 😁
I love the change from their usual music style, it sounded really good and was totally unexpected. Made me want to go listen to the music I listened 20 years ago.
I’m looking forward to their US tour. I will see them in San Antonio and Austin.
I can’t wait to see these guys in November!
I'm right there with you being a 32 year old from the south suburbs of Chicago this takes me back to hanging out at skate parks and in parking lots blasting pop punk and mid 2000s metal core
i love how we got back to punk rock in 2022
That Sound brings me back.....And it was Awesome 🤘😛🤘!!!
I'll be at the show in cleveland, cannot wait!!
Moin. Das ist ein simpler, schöner Sommersong. Genau richtig zur aktuellen Lage der Welt.
I keep listening to EC just becuase they always give u the "feel good" vibe especially on their most recent songs. Idk why, but on this song the feel good is like getting pushed into me so much straight away as soon as the first more calm phase of the song is over.
Kinda sad this song wasnt out about 2 months ago when I was on their live show in Leipzig :D
also wanna add ofc that CD also delivers very good here!^^
