As someone who has also just begun a journey into fighting games in general, but specifically Tekken 8, this video is very inspiring. I haven't even played any ranked yet, but I've been doing a lot of practicing in single player and online with a friend.
Hey bro don’t be afraid to dive in. I lived in jp when tekken 7 came out way back when before it came to the US. I had to learn everything by diving into it & I couldn’t read in Japanese so it was cancer but it was extremely motivating to continue to play & get better.
This video actually made be buy Tekken 8 and i made it to Destroyer within exactly 1 week with yoshi. Never had so much fun playing a game. Thanks man!
Good to see new people on fighting games they never played . The video showed that all you need is to practice . I have been playing for years all the fighting games and when people txt me that am a try hard , i am not i am Just waiting for my opening but keep at at man and keep teaching the new players your Journey that shows practice does pays off
This is my first Tekken and I'm a natural fighting game guy so I got adjusted fairly quickly. Gotta say this game is amazing and the grind to get better is worth it. I found out a local arcade has a meet-up to play Tekken every Wednesday I plan on going and hopefully winning some games and meeting people.
This is just me!! Ahah thanks man. I played tekken since childhood with the very first one and I love this IP, but this is the first time I really learn how to play. And I'm now Vanquisher-Destroyer in 2 month. I don't have fighting games knowledge aside Smash Bros Ultimate (The Switch version) so it takes time but my Reina evolves each day
Nice video bro 👍 since your voice is a little low, like bass low, I would recommend increasing the volume with a little compression or eq, I'm trying to listen while I'm at work and the low notes don't travel as far, keep up the good work 👍
new fighting game player in general here who started on tekken 8 people really make it seem like its way harder than it is my strat was watching a lot of content on the game guides , mid and high lvl matches etc , jumping into practice a lot on my first few sessions to get comfy with how the game feels some combo etc but after that my time in practice mode was reduced to 20 mins before actually playing each session mostly consisting of wave dash and electric training . playing through arcade quest and afterwards started the ranked grind but never stopped watching content on the game and with 33hrs of playtime i hit garyu. i feel the same as at this point i understand the game im now actually playing tekken and i know improvement has slown down drastically as what can make me better now is knowledge on the characters , game sense and improving my execution thse arent tangeable things they wont just click it will happen over time (i dont want to just study frame data will prob just use the replay feature to learn how to counter stuff when i get blown by it as the other option just seems boring)
I had the same experience as you this month, tekken 8 is my first real dive into the fighting game genre and it is really overwhelming at first. But its deffinetly fun, i only got to orange ranks this month but im pushing for that red rank, probs for the nice video
I think the execution of making the game a lot more accessible to beginners without ruining the games difficulty and complexity identity was done really well. Although I wish they didn’t nerf kbd. I spent hours learning how to kbd efficiently when I picked up t7 late last year just for it to get nerfed in t8 and for basic backdash speed to become faster. A difficult to learn skill that I put time and effort into learning is less effective and less important as a result of accessibility changes. Also spent months practicing electrics just for mishima’s to gain access to free electrics in heat or off of certain stances/stance transitions. Or how Reina has a generic df2 meaning she can whiff punish without needing to learn how to electric consistently and quickly. This is just me bitching tho. in the end, it’s not a huge deal.
Lmao I've been doing a 24 hours in tekken 8 video, and i wrote an almost identical line near the start, ill paste it here: "I had no issue getting into guilty gear or street fighter, or any other fighting game, but tekken just felt like a whole new calibur of complexity, depth, and difficulty." Us fighting game youtubers share one braincell smh
I main kazuya and I can’t get EWGF down consistently or wavedash consistently ik u need those things for him but im thinking about dropping kazuya and switching to someone else I might stick with him idk
@@supersamhain666 I will definitely pick up both jin and kazuya cuz I still wanna keep using him and playing jin will definitely make my kazuya so much better
@@OfficialBaKa. dont you think that he knows too much for someone thats supposedly only has been playing for 1 month? Its clear hes lying just to make interesting content that people would click on. Pretending that he was a beginner learning it in 30 days
@@gingfreecss3467You can learn a lot in a month. I have only been playing tekken for 3 months and i'm already at GoD. Sure, a lot of my experience comes from the fact that I am a fast learner and I am really good at fighting games in general, but saying you shouldn't know lingo being a new player is insane. Knowledge is very accessible nowdays, this aint the 90's anymore lol
Someone with less than 200 hours wouldn't even be able to get to Brawler in Tekken 7, most would just be stuck in the teal ranks struggling to survive against greens who were playing secondaries. To get to reds people would usually need to have at least 600 to 700 hours of experience. Now in Tekken 8 everyone gets to Warrior for free because you can no longer lose points in those ranks. The fact I repeatedly see people with less than 100 hours get to red and even purple ranks just goes to show how absurdly dumbed down this game was. To me reds is the new green and purple is the new yellow. PS: I know it sounds like I'm undermining your effort but, 100 hours is no significant effort for long time Tekken players. The fact beginners are being rewarded with what was once a somewhat respected rank undermines our own progress and support over decades of Tekken.
Reina isn’t even OP most people who are tekken vets would consider her good but not OP the OP characters are jun, dragunov, king, and Victor Reina isn’t op bro 😭
Bro tried to sneak in Yor Forger and thought we wouldn’t notice

Ranked is ass until you get to blue ranks imo.. it’s just a lot of strings you’ll gonna get hit by.. you should practice in quick match familiar

I highly recommend that! And also a training partner that's around your skill level! Doesn't have to be exactly like you, but around there.

Nice job. Well written and edited video.

Thanks for the feedback I’ve been a bit unsatisfied with my audio but didn’t really know how to fix it this should help
@@frozentea0 no prob, I would Google on how to do a little compression, it kinda lifts the quiet parts and dampens the loud

@guymontag5084it does take heat just a very minuscule amount of it
What are the input for the very basic reina combo at 3:09
df2, b4, ff3+4, df1, f23 F, Sentai 1,2
you can replace df2 with ewgf or cd2 (idk how to do proper notation so hopefully this helps)
I got purple
In less than a week also a tekken newbie but its hard for
Me now lol
cool!
playing tekken on mk is criminally punishable
