🙏Intro by Toros Kose: toroskose.com/ - Ігри
Reina is proof that people will still play a character no matter how difficult they are if the character’s aesthetics and presentation are this good
And this is nothing but a good thing. Reina is EVERYWHERE on ranked at every level
I agree. I see her online a lot at all levels.
Yep. Dumbing down your game and characters doesnt do anything but pissoff your existing fans. Need to focus on making your game cool instead of easy because even complete newbies will get invested.
as a newcomer i agree lol
@@tongpoo8985
Difficult? I don't see difficult character here...
I see a character with power of Mishimas and evasiveness and mixup potential of Lei. It's not difficult. It's actually easy.
I agree 👍, I see a lot of player never using Mishima's style but only with the new things she has (beginner ofc) but still they're doing great, and I, as a Mishima player, learn from their setup. Very very interesting to see how everyone is getting along with her. What a time to be a Tekken player 💪.
Reina is an exemplary newcomer, they did a great job designing her. Been playing her and I feel likes she’s definitely going to be my main until Anna eventually comes 🤣
Don't get me wrong, I respect the taste. Still, you're giving away a lot of information by saying this
@@maxwellcrow9677 I like Anna because she’s a gamblers character🤣it’s the same reason I played eddy for a while.
I didn't play Anna in 7, what's her style like?
@@AxeMain an aggressive 50/50 character, she’s very unsafe if you guess right that’s why she’s known as a gamblers character. Not to say you can’t play her more slow and defensive, I’ve seen many Anna’s like that.
@@akdrzllol1698 I like high risk/reward she sounds cool
11:03 That's a punishment alright...
Oh my GOD I didn't realize it was called a "Jewel Snatcher" ahahaha
Reina mercy omg xD
Jewels for the queen
@@KindDmoN simp
@@fastandy9 shes the first mishina that i enjoy playing that doesnt feel like im controlling a sack of potatos. call it what you will, but reina is queen 👑
Sausage Snatcher
Who else have a bad habit of watching this kinds of vids before work. Then after work before playing tekken yall just forgot what you watched 😂
Watch it again :)
@@ThatBlastedSalami will do my guy 💯
"Watch it again" is honestly good advice, haha. The second time you watch it you'll pick up things you missed the first time and you'll digest it easier after having sat with the information for a bit
Me right now watching this before work lmao.
Lol in literally watching this at work lol rn but in my case ive been using her these past 4 day im just tryna see anything i might be missing you know so ill probably remember lol
great guide. however, something you- and few other videos i've seen- haven't mentioned, is something i discovered by accident. she might not be able to electric from her df3 wavedash shortcut, but she can electric just fine from any move that transitions into a wavedash with df. So heaven's wrath, unsoku, her (i think it's) u1+2 flip, and most importantly, wind step. Still requires a perfect df+2 of course
the wind step (f, n) one is particularly good because it means you can do a slightly quicker input variation of the EWGF by just doing f n df+2, skipping the down input entirely.
also, and i'm yet to test if this is practically useful, but i did notice her safe-ish Sin Smiter mid (b 2), and her Eisaimon low (db 2) have very similar startup animations, and could be a useful mixup on conditioned opponents
Make a video!
This is my first Tekken game I've put more than a couple hours into casually, and Reina is my first Mishima. I've been doing f n df2 for my electrics. I just figured that's how all mishimas worked lmao
@@infamousta8213 I'll leave that to more talented creators, my creative efforts are for music 😅 besides, my Reina isn't very good- I really only found this one because being new to mishimas, my inputs are really sloppy and i realised it lol
@@talbotsolenberger4434 yea. coming from sf6 mechanics, i thought it was a genuine shortcut until i did it by accident from one of the other stances and realised the link
@@talbotsolenberger4434na f n,df+2 was something only kazuya can do. Making his electric 13 frames rather than 14 frames unlike any other mishima and now we have reina
no gonna lie reina is the reason I am going to try and learn tekken 8, she looks so badass and her personality just rocks that badass nature so well.
Learning PEWGF is gonna be a pain as well as using all her stances but I wanna show off the purple lightening to everyone! Thanks for the info video I learned a lot!
Same here!
PEWGF isn't something you desperatly need to master Reina, like Kazuya in Tekken 7, Electrics are still worth mastering, just not the PEWGF, it is not that worth it imo.
Having a guide this dense, yet only the length of a lunch break, really has me chomping at the bit for the eventual Azuscena and Victor overviews
You guys are killing it 🔥🔥
Wonderful additions, both the character and video. I would add that you can enter heaven's wrath from running 4.
This is my first Tekken game and I'm learning Reina as my main - it's tough, but it's fun as hell. Thanks for this video, having these moves laid out, shown, and explained helps a ton!
Been a fan since you helped me with Kazumi 6 years ago. Now it's time for Reina.
I really struggled with “stance” characters in Tekken7 , but Reina seems so cool I want to put the effort in to lab and get used to stances and how to use them. When I first got into tekken 7 this was one of the first channels I found for guides and its still my go to. Thank you
This is the first Tekken game I’m gonna try to actively learn and I am very excited to play as the funny lightning girl
Better start practicing your electrics man. Give it around 2 to 3 days of 10-15 minutes of just solid practice and you'll get it down to your muscle memory. Don't listen to the scrubs saying it's hard. I'd say an instant while running is harder and that's easy as balls.
@@BiggestChungus21I’ve got a HitBox so I can electric somewhat consistently
Have fun while you practice, and don't get discouraged. If you want to main her, that is okay even if she's a bit tricky. Playing someone you like over someone easy is the best long-term strategy imo
2-3 days of 10-15 minutes is nowhere near enough time. That may be enough to get a few electrics out but consistent electrics won’t happen for weeks or months.
I practiced about once or more times a week for about 30mins or more and I’d say I was confident with electrics after 2 months.
Also very important to note that you should practice both sides and electrics out of different movement options like dash, backdash, wavedash, multiple wavedashes, etc.
I'd argue electrics isn't something a complete beginner to tekken should worry about, instead, get the basics down, learn when and how to sidestep pressure, how to kbd and wavedash, bnbs, learn your launchers, then go for electrics@@BiggestChungus21
Fantastic guide. Never seen such an informative yet simple-telling guide before
There is a lot of love in this character, very hard to master it will take time !
Great video. You helped me get into the series with the Bryan Essentials video for 7, and further enhanced my knowledge of my new secondary. Thanks.
Also have yet to see another Reina electric online, yet
Reinas design is just great. Great mids and highs, great grabs, horrendous lows, high execution. W on the devs.
Emmm, high execution? Where?
Sorry but her hellsweep is a good low. Period. Not as good as the other mishimas but still definitely good
@artsq1550 I assumed people would understand nuisance when saying this. But I guess not. If I wanna stomp trash players with flow charts, then sure she can seem like spammy cringe easy. If you wanna actually play the character to relatively high potential, then you need to juggle 4 stances with their cross contamination, mix in spacing, neutral moves to go into stances, and the the 2 separate electrics to execute. If you think she's anywhere near the easiest then you are smoking
@TheBigEmstos your message didn't come in till like right before I messaged so I didn't notice it to respond
@TheBigEmstos but no it's not. It is literally succeed or die type low. The first and both seconds hits are launch punishable. For hitting the second hit on counter hit you launch. But for hitting the high you get to go into stance. While the stance is good, you need way more effort and danger to apply damage on that low. It's arguably a necessity to put some fear to duck. But she doesn't have a good low. Every low she has is more risk than the reward.
Thank you so much for this guide. Ive already had a bit of experience playing with Reina as she is my main but some of the things you mentioned in this video, i didnt even know existed! Youve definitely earned my sub. Thanks again!
I remember when Tekken 8 got announced, I made a comment on how I was looking forward to your content on it you’re so inspired. It’s nice to finally reach that moment, thanks for the great videos!
I was bummed about losing Heihachi and I was coming into Tekken 8 hoping she would play exactly the same, but the more I learn about her new tools the more I excited I am about Reina. She has just enough of Heihachi's gameplay and personality and she brings so much interesting stuff to the table.
We never lost Heihachi he just changed form...and to be honest I'm using his alternate form a lot more than his previous form.
Can you do kuma guide for the true son of heihachi
I'm sure they will do a guide for everybody, just give it a season or two
@@ThriceGr8 oh that sad but maybe somebody will do it early for the memes and kuma is really strong in the game
Been waiting for these! Been watching these since Tekken 7, and it helped me get into Jin the last time around, so huge props.
ahh the guide ive been waiting on bless you Salami
Love your content, cannot wait for the Jun overview!
I've been practicing Reina since Tekken 8 was released - first Tekken game, too! - and things are starting to click but this guide is going to help me so much. Especially with the visual demonstrations of tying her stances into her combos and explaining their weaknesses/risks. I'm really excited to practice her more tonight. :)
Impressive! What a video, this was amazing, this made my will to learn her to sky rocket! Loved the video format and presentation too, please keep them coming.
An absolute banger of a video! Thank you.
That’s the character review we were all waiting for. Thank you.
Beautiful video, thank you!
Fantastic video as always!
cant wait for these guides. Your channel was amongst one of the best for Tekken 7
You are absolutely my favorite person to break down chars. You do a great job of highlighting pressure, pokes, punishment etc. Really hope u get to the whole cast
Gonna have to watch this one over and over again to get better with my new main. Thank you TBS
This is the video I needed to learn the tips I had no idea about reina Thank you!!!!
Really good video, you brought what she is capable of into a really concise package, and I'll probably be coming back to this video many times because of it.
I love your vids so damn much, they helped me a lot in Tekken 7 and now will help in 8 too. Thanks for hard work !
Thank you! Been waiting for this
She has a pretty scary wall game. Heihachi's f+4 into df+1,2. Unbreakable grab from Heaven's wrath deals massive damage if it hits the wall, and ws+3 (which has an easymode iws input by df+3) is a hit-confirmable wall splat, albeit ws3 on its own is -10 ob. db+4,2 is also a hit confirmable on counter hit (makes a distinctive noise on ch) and wall splats. Also her 3+4 has a weird interaction during a wall combo if only one of the two hits land (you achieve this by sidewalking prior to 3+4), allowing you to crouch cancel into heaven's stance and get the full 4,2,2,1+2 from it, although I feel like this is a bug and will be fixed eventually. Also I feel like there's potential in her sentai grab at certain wall angles; I've gotten few back launches if the opponent tried to stand up.
Given her shitty lows, I think it's worth going into heat way earlier than you would on other characters to get that chip damage. The parry from heaven stance is scary, although susceptible to hop kicks and knees/elbows so not something you can spam willy-nilly.
I was waiting this ty man
Once you master all the moves that can transition into HW stance with frame advantage you can get a cheeky CH 1 into PEWGF if you have the execution that makes her even more intimidating
That is actually crazy
Thank you very much for the video ! This has helped me so much
I hope you know how much the community appreciates these master classes of videos 🙏
Such a good video!
These are so good.
Waiting patiently for my Paul!
Glad you’re back. Happy Tekken 8
Nice video guide, waiting for the other characters guide ❤
I just played Reina in Tekken 8 yet, and this is really helpfull. Thank you for this Video
This vid is very informative. Sent it to my homie learning her right now who's never learned Tekken.
this is a good guide. i dont play reina but getting tired of me being evaded by her moves so this helps
amazing character and amazing video Arya, nice one
Love your work, forever and always
Salami i cant believe were finally here with tekken 8. Heres to a new game and new content. Love the channel man. Thanks for your yoshi guide years back, its what got me started with my main.
He’s back and better than ever!
Great video! Even though my execution isn't exactly there to optimize her mishima tools, I'm getting a lot out of this character as a stance enjoyer. Her pressure, mixup, and evasion all feel so good! Your guide has given me even further inspiration as to the application of moves I'd overlooked, so I'm quite grateful.
Arya's character overview videos are second to none
Definitely learning her as my main and having a lot of fun
As always bruv, a super video and please keep uo the good work. RESPECT
You covered her so well. I instantly fell in love with her during the trailer and have been playing with her since release. I’m dedicated to mastering her.
Yo! Good looking on this in-depth guide for Reina. She’s the only character I play now with in Tekken 8. And she is so dope to play with!
Salami, you are THE one stop Tekken shop!
nice video, hope to see a general overview of all the characters like before
Ive never seen such high quality detailed and well edited tekken videos like yours b4. U make me watch even when I don’t care about the character u revealing. I wish u make one about the new HWOARANG.
I think a big part of her appeal in terms of gameplay is that she is good in both low ranks and high ranks but for different reasons.
At low ranks, she has many knowledge checks that are easy to execute and net you easy wins, but they stop working around the mid ranks.
BUT!
If you put enough work, her more difficult tools will give you great rewards in the higher ranks, which is something that many gimmick characters don't have.
She is a character that you can grow with from a beginner to an expert.
My wife doesn't play video games but she loves purple stuff and I'm going to try to use Reina as bait to get her to try Tekken out.
I love these guides so much, I share them with my friends whenever they come out. I’m so grateful for this guide because I’ve been getting my ass handed to me by Reina 😂
She's so sick. Thanks for the guide
My man.
The is perfect, I’m committing to Reina and devil and it’s been a great experience
Can't wait for your take on Feng Wei and Leroy Smith
Just now unlocked her, going to try her and jun out. Been loving alisa and victor way to much. Thanks for the video
AMAZING VIDEO! And makes me want to try her already!!
Please, Jun or Asuka after Steve.
I've been playing Tekken since 5 but this is the first time I've been motivated to finally learn a Mishina thanks to Reina.
2:00 I'd like to point out the damage difference from the -
Hardest Input - EWGF: 23
Medium Input - WGF: 20
Novice/Button* Input (df3) - WGF: 15
And Lastly - Fuck I forgot to let go for *Neutral* while trying to EWGF Input (df4) - Launcher: 13
Like someone pointed out, her stances or short strings that can be cancelled with a wavedash can be utilized for EWGF with max damage -- I just want to make it known that while there is an easy way into the wavedash stance, her damage can be drastically increased or decreased based on input method (which I think is dope). This opens up the character's accessibility, while still holding a very high skill ceiling. I fucking love this character if you can't tell. Nothing biased about this.
Loving Reina.
Used you guys to get into Feng in 7, now Reina in 8
You truly are a Blasted Salami
these animations look even more incredible in slow motion
Here's to hoping you cover all characters this time
As much as I love using Jin, Reina is pretty fun to learn. Her stances are insane, if used correctly. Can't wait to see what pros could come up with her move list.
Amazing, like always...just one small detail, Kazumi is also a mishima who got an easy DF2 launcher :D
She also got a flying tiger, so eh... I'd also like to point out that she's a married Mishima, not a born Mishima :D
@@SingularisFox yeah sure, but what i mean is that she plays like a Mishima, an easy one but still, the Mishima key moves are there.
Its criminal bandai don't pay for the production of these videos to launch with the game, they are so much better than the personality-less character trailers they put out where everyone does a canned combo into a heat smash into rage art and all characters look identical. Here you actually get to see some nuances, the flavour the character brings and its target audience.
The best tekken content creator 🙏respect bro
I see now, so at my noob ranks, i will do well to use mid power crushes to reject being conditioned and protect myself from reina setting up her lows.
exceptional video!! congrats as always. as a newcomer to the franchise I am extremely fascinated by the complexity of this type of characters. are all tekken characters this complex somehow?
Yes!!! Tysm
Also worth mentioning that just like Kazuya, Reina has a perfect electric with f, n, df + 2! And just like Kaz, she has a frame perfect counterhit launcher from HW 1, wherein it's exactly 13 frames.
This is best reina tutorial
Great video, breaking the character down like this makes her feel a lot more approachable
For some reason, im getting serious Kazumi Mishima and Aoi Umenokoji from VF5 vibes. Can't wait to dive in. Thanks again for another great video.
You had me at unbreakable throw
JESUS. If I wasn't playing reina before, I'd be playing now after this video.
Wasn't really interested in the character at first, but now she seems very cool with multiple stances flow. Excellent video as always, looking forward to our steve changes!
Definitely gonna be a top tier
This guide is amazingly edited and very stylish but feels it's made more for people who already play Tekken and doesn't get into a lot of explaining on why/how things work.
The electric dash was described as "doing it the ol' fashioned way" which for a beginner sends me to google and likely a different video. Stuff like that is all over. I get Salami wanted it to be digestible but it just makes another gate for new players
I guess I gotta find a different beginners guide and come back here when I just have a better understand
also something to note!!!! 1+4 is a duck that also lets u crouch dash out of it, and like a proper electric one, so u have access to what is essentially a low profile electric!!
She has an issue where she game doesnt register the QCF input when you are more than 2 character lengths away. It just stops the second wavedash motion from coming out, making it impossible to wavedash wavedash wavedash electric from distance. You can go into practice and test right now. Move her to the complete opposite end of the screen and try to wavedash in, then do the same with Kazuya or Djin. They can do it fine, she cannot.
I thought I was crazy at first when I noticed this and there was NO mention of it in any guides, character overviews, etc. Had a few "Wait, my inputs aren't THAT sloppy" moments in ranked when trying to wavedash back in after ending a combo with WRA > df > 4,1 before deciding to test in practice mode. Super easy to reproduce, so hopefully they wind up fixing this pretty quick.
So far it hasn't hurt my gameplay all that much, outside of a few instances where I've tried to wavedash after making space and promptly stutter stepped like an idiot right into a full launch since I was too far away.
@@illyrian94 Exactly! I'm really surprised no bigger streamer is noticing this. Its not a huge thing, but it definitely makes her movement and especially applying pressure for oki annoyingly inconsistent compared to the other Mishimas. I hope someone will bring it up to the devs/namco. It shouldn't be that way.
Kazuya, Reina and Steve's videos being close to one another
Damn I don't have to wait long for my mains it seems lmao
Listen. I love these guides and I’m here to request the Lars guide next. Reina is a character I want to play tho since Jin, Devil Jin, and Kaz are here, haven’t tried her.
6:59
Ain’t no way they have a move named Benten thrust 💀
I think kazuya or devil jin has demons thrust. And smt has hell thrust, but they knew what they were doing with that one
Vine boom followed by an image of ben 10
Benten is the name of a Shinto goddess. She's got a ton of moves named after Japanese mythology.
The move you should actually be laughing at is Jewel Snatcher. 11:03
these are amazing! please tell me you're making one on Jun!
Impossible to do a guide better than this.
WOOOOOOOO!!! PURPLE LIGHTNING!!!
