    hiii, how do i keep my butter cream from sweating after a long time in the fridge? thanks😃

    • @BritishGirlBakes
      @BritishGirlBakes  3 роки тому +7

      The key is gradual temperature change. So ideally, move it from fridge to an air conditioned room, then after a few hours move it out of the air conditioned room to somewhere cool. The sudden difference in temperature is what causes sweating/condensation

      You can use any kind of gel food coloring, but I would not recommend any liquid food color.

    Painting is on cream cake or on fondant

    It might work better, for the tree painting, to paint a light-colored and thinned-out background of sky and ground first, let it dry, then paint trees over it with slightly darker gel colors. If you do this you won't have to paint around the trees to add the sky. Also, why not show the four seasons all around the cake? Some very creative ideas can come out of not seeing the whole painting at one time. Maybe you could have a surprise of some kind on the backside that people only see when they walk around the cake.

      Yes! Love those ideas! I almost never have a design in mind before I start on a cake - I just get started and see how it evolves. I wasn’t planning on a background but ended up adding one for more colour. I’m definitely not a painter but it was fun experimenting!

      @@BritishGirlBakes Well, yes, you're not a painter BUT you made something very dear and genuine. Those cakes look full of warm wishes and made by a real person, not a factory.
      You have to be a little brave to make a cake. They don't always work out but isn't that part of the fun? Like karaoke night, sometimes you won’t hit any of the right notes. I think you deserve extra points for trying! If you have fun, everyone else will too.
      When my son was five he had a fascination with animals. One day he drew every animal he could think of. He must have made forty little drawings, all in the very sweet way children draw. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a cake with those animals prancing around the outside? Maybe you could let the kids decorate the birthday cake during the party.
