Omgee! I’m so glad I found this video. I have to paint a graphic on a wedding cake and I was so nervous about bleeding and the translucency of gel colors. This will work so much better! Thank you!
Adore your style, you’re an incredible artist! I really appreciate how you go through your thought process and details like not needing to clean your brush, etc. Gorgeous piece and great tutorial! Thanks
@@kyongscakesncrafts was the cake in the freezer, fridge or room temperature? When the color stiffens up, I take it it stiffens up on the brush too, so what do you do for te brush to let it be smooth again? Thx a lot. Nice work.
Beautiful cake. As a painter, you can fix frayed (splayed) brushes by dipping just the bristles in boiling water, but as you correctly say, not past the metal or it affects the adhesive
If you make a mistake while painting, how to take it off? And, how to keep the brushes warm while painting as that the cocoa butter tends to solidify on the brush. Thank you!
I love this technique but have a question. I have a wedding cake this July and was wondering will these flowers run once the cake reaches room temperature?
Oh no ! I knew I forget to add something to the description! Here it is and thanks so much for watching! Nuvia Organics Cocoa Butter - 100% USDA Certified Organic, Raw Unrefined Pressed Wafers, Food Grade, Edible, Keto, Vegan; 8oz www.amazon.com/dp/B071RSNWMT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_KumOO9KM2sG41
You can use vodka, but the color is more likely to crack and bleed into the buttercream. There is a tutorial on my channel that show painting with gel color and vodka on buttercream.
I’ve never tried regular butter. Give it a go, just spread a little frosting out on a board and try painting with the butter and petal dust and see what happens. 😁 I got the cocoa butter on amazon.
Doesn't the buttercream melt whilst painting? I marvel at the fact that your cake stays out of fridge because some need to put their cakes in and out of the fridge.

Thank you for the tutorial. Is this cake fondant cover or any other buttercream?
Thanks for watching! It’s Swiss meringue buttercream
instead of butter for the gel paint can we use vodka?
Hi! Great video, do you have a link to the cocoa butter and petal dust you used? I love the way your painting turned out! Thank you!

As far as the petal dust, I just use whatever random brands I have.
Love the technique! Beautiful cake❤️
What can one substitute cocoa butter with? Will regular butter or vodka be ok?

@@kyongscakesncrafts thanks. How about regular butter? I have no idea how to source cocoa butter.

Can I paint on Russian buttercream?
You know, I’ve never heard of that but I’m intrigued. What’s the difference between that and Swiss meringue?
It is also called as condensed milk buttercream
Oh I’m gonna read about it. I’ve never tried it. Thanks!
What is “Swiss meringue?”
It’s a type of buttercream, using egg whites and dissolved sugar
