Great tutorial Lynz - I love that your videos show such practical ideas/methods, and you explain them so well - it's like you read my mind! Wish I was in the UK (I'm NZ) so I could access the variety of cake decorating items there .. xx
Hi Sue, I'm so glad you like it, thank you, and I'm glad it will come in handy for you. I think there are some UK based cake decorating companies that are now shipping world wide, like The Cake Decorating Company if this would be any use.
I love your videos thank you for the best tutorial ❤️❤️❤️ Could you please make a video on how to paint the cake with an airbrush compressor and which paint is the most suitable for fondant icing cover, please? Thank you 🙏❤️💝
Thank you so much for all the work you put in that video!💛🙂 It is really very informative! Wishing you all the best and sending you greetings from Germany☺️
There are also metallic paints that come in a spray can such as Wilton. They are pretty good, dry fast and don't leave brush marks. They are available at any craft store like Michaels. Thank you for a great video!
I love your vedio's , thanks for sharing 💖💖😍 Need suggestion from you,What else can be used for spraying on a manual airbrush pump without alcohol...?? The suggestion would be of great help please..♥️♥️♥️
Hi Lynz! Thanks for a fantastic video. Do you have any experience/ideas on how well it work to use something like this to "splatter" a buttercreamed cake please? I was hoping to mix it up, and flick it onto the cake with a paintbrush but I wondered how well it'll go onto buttercream? Thank you! x
Great options Lynz.. However in high humidity even using alcohol content the fondant become sticky and definitely must let it longer to dry. Any tips for this please 🙏
I'm so glad it will be helpful. It can be so hard to know what to use sometimes so I hoped it would be helpful to compare and show them together to help you choose.
@@CakesbyLynz yea!! But It always help me...and I'm gonna make the ice cream drip cake which I learnt from your video on my mother's bday on 30th June!!!! So thank you so so much 💕🥰🥰💕💕💕
As always a brilliant tutorial. Ive always used vodka but after this video its dipping solution for me. Golden anniversary cake will look amazing then. Thank you
you are an amazing person . i always watch your tutorials. i have a question for you . where would you keep your metallic painted cakes once they are done. in the fridge or over the counter. i live in florida and the heat here forces me to put them in the fridge but when i take them out they sweat and wash away the paint. also what do you think is best using airbrush or hand paint with alcohol.for metallic finish. thanks
Work in an AC room n keep ur cakes in AC rooms only not in the fridge as this would give sweat to Ur cakes.try it it alwz works m saying this as I live in in India n here we generally have very hot weather so this trick alwz wen working with fondant , chcolate or bitter cream cakes
Hi Victoria, have you tried dipping solution. I always found with alcohol like vodka it took a really long time to dry too, but with dipping solution it dries really quickly.
Hi Shahbaz, I actually tested out oil as I had heard people use it, but I personally couldn't get it to dry. I left it for a few days and it was still wet to the touch. Anything oil based that I tried had the same effect. These 6 options I found worked the best.
Is the lustre dust coming off like dry lustre powder or is the paint still wet? I find that if using oil it stays quite wet for longer than some other solutions. With things like dipping solution as the dipping solution evaporates the lustre dust turns back to dust form. If you can you can brush over the top with a large fluffy brush to get off any left over dust to stop it coming off. I really hope this helps.
Hi Jenna, The dipping solution I usually get from Amazon, here is the link: amzn.to/3hEMyRH. I've also put links to all the products I use in the video in the description below the video at the bottom if you click 'show more' if these would be any use to you.
Hi, I have added all the products at the bottom of the description with links to where I got them. If there is anything I have missed just let me know.
I have also seen it called rejuvenator spirit by Sugarflair. Or maybe try searching for food grade Ethanol or alcohol. I really hope you find it. Let me know how you get on.
Hi, all your videos are great, but I could ask you if you could include the audio option or subtitles in Spanish, it would be great, thank you very much blessings. Unless you have an allergy to alcohol I wouldn't be concerned about using vodka (or any kind of alcohol) to paint your cake, as the paint dries the alcohol content evaporates out leaving so little actual alcohol behind it might as well not even be there
the effort of making matching fondant discs 💓💓💓

Can I use this method on ganached cakes
What was the brush type ur using :O
In Manitoba, Canada, we need a liquor license if baked goods contain more than 1% alcohol. Thank you for showing water and lemon juice.
Ive used Rose Water which you can find in the cake section
Hi :) loved your video. Will this work on dark chocolate ganache frosting too ?
Hi, Yes it should also work. You may need a few layers to cover the dark ganache underneath.

Does luster dust completely dry? I find that when I use it with alcohol and never fully dries to the touch and still is able to be wiped off.

Can we use oil mean any cooking oil for our luster dust??? Guide me plz

Where can you get Dipping Solution?
You also can use rose water
Hi Linda, I have not actually tried rose water, that is a great suggestion. I will give that a try.
Rose water in supermarkets doesn't have alcohol and has a strong smell like soap.Rose spirit in cake shops usually has 90% alcohol and minimal smell.
Baby spice not a pop star anymore! She now makes beautiful cakes!!!

How ur cream is so thick
The alcohol dries. Why would anyone worry about? It evaporates very quickly. People are insane. It’s the best possible ingredient.
Some people's religious beliefs prohibit them from consuming any form or amount of alcohol! Hope this helps! ❤
Pls add a product names on the description box

I tried the edible paint on my fondant but it isn't drying am I doing something wrong?
Is edible dipping solution called anything else? I can’t seem to find it on Amazon with that term in the USA.
I have also seen it called rejuvenator spirit by Sugarflair. Or maybe try searching for food grade Ethanol or alcohol. I really hope you find it. Let me know how you get on.
