to bad they went out of business.
@@johnnygunzfilmbuff7821 yeah, first version is a good product. Never got to see the second version
@@ShreddedDad yeah I don't know why they updated and went far to fast with a different variation
@@johnnygunzfilmbuff7821 not sure
@@ShreddedDad maybee just trying to hard.
That's awesome! Will definitely look into this for flies and arm work.
There’s tons of exercises you can do with it
I love your reviews and easy to follow instructions 💪
Thanks dude 👊
Love your reviews man!
I appreciate that!
This is pretty cool but I will have to use spotter arms on my prx rack and when working out the weights will hit my pegs on wall since there will be some swinging
Looks cool, easily the best iteration of an add on cable system I have seen
Yes, I’ve tested a few and even made my own cable systems and this is the best one around.
This looks dope but lack of reviews is keeping me from pulling the trigger. Your channel is the only one I've found. FB page has zero comments, IG is pretty much the same.
Out of all the pulley systems I’ve tried, this is my favorite because of the cable adjustment ability.
They do have a 90 day return policy if you’re not happy with it.
Awesome review! I use a Rogue Y-1 yoke and it only has holes on two front and back sides. Will this still work well if I don’t have holes on the left and right sides of the uprights?
Thanks! I’ve used it on the front holes of my rack and didn’t have a problem so it should work for your yoke.
It looks like depending on the direction of the pulley, the cotter pin is holding the hitch pin from sliding out. How comfortable would you feel with some of the load being transferred to the cotter pin?
With the weight being moved forward and the hitch pins being perpendicular to that load, the vast majority of the stress falls on the shaft of the hitch pin so I’m not worried about the cotter pin.
Great review! I built a similar, though not nearly as simple to use, setup with info I got from your channel as well as a few others. BUT, I like this much better. What about longevity? Do the cables and locking mechanism seem to be durable long term? Can the cables and locking mechanism be replaced if they wear out? Thanks for the info you put out.
So far I haven’t had any issues with the cables. They are made of paracord.
I asked the company the same question and here’s what they said:
We tested the retractor by retracting it fully and letting it go 2,000 times.
We also droped the entire unit with 200 lb on it 10,000 times.
We're very confident that it will last. However if anything ever breaks on it we have a lifetime warranty.
@@ShreddedDad thank you, sir!
@@MrTdawg75 you bet 👊
If only I didn't have my syl pulley already. Entered the giveaway while back but no dice. Lol great review. You did a better job than the actual company.
Thanks for watching 👊
@@ShreddedDad always do
@@brianlee1933 appreciate it 🙏
Great review! In visiting the website, do you know if the Railtrainer QuickPin 2 Kit reflects a cable system for each side? I read the description and it does not explicitly state that it comes with 2. I'm wondering if I have to buy 2 separate units to be able to do cable crossovers.
You have to buy 2 units. The #2 in the listing’s title refers to Version 2 of the product.
disregard my question. . . I finally got to the end of your video where you provided that answer. I need to purchase 2 separate units. Thank you again for the detailed review!
@@rdaffon23 coupon code SHREDDED gets you 10% off
Have you gone heavy on it?
Find it hard to trust the bungee cord. Especially where the attachment attaches to the bungee knot?
Yeah I’ve put 100 lbs on it r without a problem.
It’s paracord so it’s tough
This is a great tool! My new house has a super low ceiling so I'm looking to get the Rogue SML-1 and add a pullup bar. I found a thread online that says that setup will put the pullup bar at 64". I'm 69". Do you think that would be too low for me to use the system properly?
That height is gonna be kinda low for high pulley exercises like lat pull downs or tricep push downs unless you kneel or do some on your butt.
It should be fine to use for exercises like low to high cable crossovers or crossovers at chest level where the pulleys are lower.
@@ShreddedDad Thank you!
@@Mattcamel51 👊
Good review.
👊 thanks
WILL THIS WORK WITH 2 ROGUE BUMPER PLATES DIE BY SIDE? SEEMS LIKE THERE MIGHT NOT BE ENOUGH ROOM FOR BOTH? NICE PRODICT THO.
If you have spotter arms, you can attach them parallel to your rack (on the outside) and hang the pulleys from there.
That will space out the plates far from each other so you have plenty of room.
I have the same prx and same color as ur rack except I have the short version without the pull up bar attached so I don't think I will be able to attach the retractors to it??
If you have spotter arms, you can place them on the outside of the uprights horizontally but you have to make sure the uprights are supported well at the top.
Watch this video so you can see what I mean instagram.com/p/CVYbPJdpdHz/
@@ShreddedDad yea I have the spotter arms
@@ShreddedDad is there any downsides of using spotter arms instead of pull up bar to anchor the cable system?
@@futbol1972 no downside
So I am assuming I have to be taking everything apart if I wanna use the rack for bench press, dip station of something else?
Depends on whether you set up the loading pins on the inside or outside of the rack.
But yeah, sometimes you have to move stuff around.
You sacrifice a little bit of extra work when you don’t have a dedicated machine.
@@ShreddedDad I don't think I will lime the loading pins cause I have to diaconect stuff to load plates and also they will hit my plate pegs I wave on wall next to prx rack
@@futbol1972 I have been thinking about how to set this up in my full rack as well without take it apart after each use. Ideally set this up on the outside of front post but the the loading pin will hit my plate pegs in the front post as well. Need to plan careful before the purchase. it is not practical if setup time is too long that's why i resist the temptation to get lever arms.
Great review and interested in buying... I've been watching other diy pulley system videos before seeing this and a common issue is that the weights swing a lot... How much do they swing while using this?
They all swing when there is nothing anchoring down the weight, including this one.
You just gotta control the movement so it swings less.
But yeah, I’ve used many cable pulley systems and this is the best one I’ve had because of the ability to change the length of the cable.
That lets you perform a whole lot more exercises that you can’t do with a fixed length cable.
@@ShreddedDad Which in essence would perfect technique by controlling it more... thank you! Glad I came across your channel. Keep up the great work
@@jdirago86 yeah it forces you to keep good technique and thanks for stopping by
Add some heavy chain atop your weights that are long enough to continually touch the floor, and it will help mitigate swing.
@@jeremiahjordan4422 yup, good tip 🤙
Any issue when loading a pair of these with larger plates? It seems the larger plates would end up banging into each other. I’m close to purchasing a pair of these but this would be a deal breaker.
If you’re concerned about them banging into each other, you could also hang them outside the uprights by using spotter arms.
Watch this video so you can see what I mean instagram.com/p/CVYbPJdpdHz/
@@ShreddedDad appreciate it! Any eta on your review of their 2nd iteration?
@@thegoldenstateconsumer I still haven’t received the 2nd version although I’ve been told by the company it functions the same way as version 1.
Changes were mainly done in the design and materials used.
@@ShreddedDad thanks!
Really cool!
Yes it is. I’ve tried many pulley systems and this one is the best one around because of the adjustable cable and multiple pulleys.
How many Olympic bumper plates can be fit on the loading pin? I know the limit is 200lbs but can you fit 200 on it if all you have is bumper plates? Thanks
You have 8.5” of space from the bottom to the top of the loading pin. Not sure how thick your loading pins are but that should give you an idea of how much room you have.
@@ShreddedDad thanks for the quick reply. And great review of a pretty cool design. Now just waiting for them to be back in stock.

What is the max weight capacity of this system approximately?
Can’t remember exactly. the company went out of business about 2 years ago
whats the price and how do I buy? The website does not take me to a product page, just oyur review page.
It is no longer sold
@Shredded Dad Garage Gym ahhh OK. I was hoping this would be cheaper than ancore or max pro. Can't belive there isn't a budget power rack attachment yet.
they have a new version but no reviews on it.
Yes new one is available now. I’ll be getting one soon to review.
It’s supposed to function the same way but made of better materials
Wish i found this earlier instead of wasting my money on making my own. But better late then never.
That retractable cable is a game changer in pulley systems
@@ShreddedDad i'm sure
@@ShreddedDad my homemade one is a pain in the neck and can get stock sometimes unless if I use it right at a certain angle.
@@johnnygunzfilmbuff7821 sometimes the pulleys can make a difference too
@@ShreddedDad agreed. Which is why I'm gonna upgrade eventually.
do you still use this? I found someone selling a used one. But not sure how reliable they are since they went out of business.
Yes I still use it and it still works
@@ShreddedDad how heavy do you usually load them?
@@johnr6316 3 (45) plates is the most I’ve used on them. The unit itself weighs about 10 lbs
Well I was kicking myself for buying a functional trainer a day before seeing this, but now I see that company is out of business. What happened?
They tried coming out with a version 2.0 that flopped and had lots of refunds.
Version 1 still works great
Can I still buy version 1.0?
@@TOWERCOATER they’re out of business
Do you prefer this or your DIY cable pulley system?
This is better because you have the option to adjust the cable to different lengths so you have way more exercise options.
Storage is also easier because the cable retracts inside the rectangle so it’s less messy.
@@ShreddedDad Thanks! Ordered this on your recommendation and I'm loving it after one small change. The metal pulleys that came with it seemed to have alot of friction. I switched those out for nylon pulleys and it's significantly smoother for me.
@@danielstevenson7951 awesome. Glad it’s working out for you. Let the company know about the pulley change you made. They welcome all feedback.
I personally haven’t had any issues with mine.
How many feet of cable in box
15 feet of cable
How long is the cable?
The cable is 15 feet long so there’s plenty of room to cover a rack from top to bottom
Yo that’s a cool rack you got , nice and compact. What is the name of it? Looks like it will fit in my apartment
It’s this one ShreddedDad.com/prx
how long is the Olympic sleeve?
8.5 inches
@@ShreddedDad thanks brother
@@MetalsForBrunch you’re welcome
@@ShreddedDad does the pulleys make any noise?
@@MetalsForBrunch no, the pulleys are really good quality and not noisy like cheap pulleys.
RailTrainer came out with a new design. Check it out.
Yeah I’ll be testing it out soon and will make another video on the second version
What’s the price?

The audio is gone
Just played it and seems to be working fine on my end
@@ShreddedDad just tweaked my earphones it’s working fine, sorry bout that
Great price compared to similar products
Yes it is and takes up way less space
$400 a piece for one of these is a hard pill to swallow.
Each kit is $179
