- Here's a quick video on how to build a "poor man's" functional trainer for your home gym with some inexpensive parts your can pick up online (see product links below).
After shooting the video, I looked at the Angles 90 and Bells of Steel pulley options I mentioned, and I think you're probably better off piecing the setup together using parts from Amazon. It'll be a lot more cost-effective.

Good work.
Nice idea! To stop the plates from swinging attach a small dog leash chain to the bottom of the pins. That'll steady them a bit.
Niceee ima do this too , never thought about using the bar thanks for the idea !!
I have my moments. Hope it works for you! Thanks for watching.

This is fucking genius!
I don't know about "genius," but I'm glad you like the idea. 💪🏻
Nice, how many pulleys overall did you get?
2 on the top of the rack. 2 on the bottom of the uprights. 2 on the bottom in the middle (for closer grip stuff). You really only need 4 to cover your bases.
@@HORNSTRENGTH Thanks!! Thinking of making a similar system like yours but with spotter arms.
Which size are you using for chest flies?
