That's why they decided to deal with the problem of Odysseus at that time. If you do this without reading the material, you will get some stuff wrong.
Yes. Zeus does tell Athene that since Poseidon isn't there and they're united to see Odysseus home, Poseidon couldn't speak out against them. I think that's what was meant here.

Poseidon wasn't just mad at him for blinding his son... it was also for not giving him the credit for the horse trick. if someone else remembers this please let me know because now I'm confused.

darthraven178 are you talking about the movie Troy? Yeah that movie gets pretty much everything wrong when it comes to its source material. Read The Iliad, it should clear up any questions you have.
Paris I believe was killed during the war and Menelaus intended to kill Helen, but he came upon her naked in her bed, became smitten again and just took her back to Sparta instead
