I have to say, as a fan and student of the history of Disney Imagineering, the descriptions that were given of what the future world looked like sounded suspiciously like the kinds of things Disney was designing for their theme parks in the late 1960s and early 1970s. When the revelation was made that Germans had confiscated the “original manuscripts,”and that this version of the story was not made public until the 1970s, I immediately strongly suspected that this story had in fact originated in the time, culture, and technological space of the 1970s. Great episode once again.

I want Jimmy Akin and Ben Shapiro to do a debate on if the Catholic faith is true and if it fulfills the predictions of the Old testament. They both think in a similar logical way and it would be a (forgive the pun) great debate. #ConvertShapiro

Great episode! I like the long ones.
I’ve only heard rumors of what’s in this book, so having it broken down like this was really cool.
Also I wanted to give you an update. My daughter fell gravely ill a few years ago and you promised to pray for her. I want to let you know that while she is not entirely free from the effects of her illness, she is essentially cured. I credit the prayers she has received during the course of her treatment to be instrumental in that outcome as her doctors didn’t think it was likely.
Thank you so much for your help in prayers!

I'd also add that I don't mind the length of the episodes so far - a hour and 20 minutes seems fine to explain a topic in relatively sufficient depth. Heck, if it were up to me, I'd make them a bit longer and with more depth! Anyways, God bless your entertaining work!

The theology the man in this story describes is New Age/Pantheism, a combination of eastern mysticism, Theosophy and other occultic practices. Ive studied those beliefs, and they are all supposedly derived from channeling spirit guides, which the bible expressly forbids! The result of believing and practicing these teachings are universally horrifying. Sociopathic behavior, disconnect from reality, self isolation, shocking and all consuming selfishness and self-worship, suicidal ideation/attempts, horrifying dreams that leave physical injuries, loss of control over one's own thoughts and behaviors, vulnerability to the Alien Abduction phenomenon/experience, and demonic oppression/possession.
If you search (why i left New Age) you'll find dozens of videos of regular people describing how it was ruining their lives and all the horrifying supernatural shit that started happening to them. New Age is genuinely dangerous in every sense of the word. I believe its a demonic deception, and so is anything that teaches it.

I don't know if you read comments on old podcasts, but I am listening to your episodes in order of their publication. I am enjoying this series more than you can know! I found Mysterious World as a random recommendation from UA-cam (so good things can come from big tech paying attention to my likes...it's not ALL bad)! Thank-you for all the work you do. My favorite episode (though I LOVE them all) is the one where you went wherever an app directed you to go. Fascinating. When I can, I will send some $$$

I wonder though why the possibility of a soul taking over and living in another body wasn't discussed - some could argue that the soul, being the form of the body, can't fully enform another body by a completely different person like that - in other words, the typical cartoon show trope of people switching minds and bodies isn't really possible, so at least the element of the story where Paul is literally in another body is questionable. Now what Jimmy mentioned about remote viewing does kind adress this indrectly, so props to that! You could add that something like possession (of the future person's body for a short while) along with out-of-body remote viewing may be possible to get what was described, but literally switching bodies and souls may be unlikely.
I also like the mention of Paul possibly being in another timeline rather than in the future of our own; I immediatly thought of the possibility of him actually being in another universe existing along with our own, due to the issues with time travelling backwards and especially while still having a connection to the past that has passed. Anyways, great episode Jimmy! And I love how you can do impromptu research by asking your own irregulars for it; that's a wonderful help for investigating things for low-key shows like this!

Fascinating story! I think the literary theory is probably right. I haven’t read the HP Lovecraft stories Jimmy mentioned, but the diary format reminds me of books like Dracula and The Woman in White, which are written in the form of diaries, letters, and other first-person accounts.

Fascinating story I really enjoyed how you give information from the time period . How he as an intellectual already was exposed to literature that would influence his own work.
And the technology that was already around him that he would just put into the next level .

“Oh, Jimmy and Dom, you’ve done it again!” I don’t know why I thought of making a Mr. Magoo reference, or if such a reference will be taken as the intended flattering compliment it is meant to be, but Jimmy and Dom have once again taken a topic I knew nothing about and made it interesting from start to finish. Brilliant!
The episode served as a bedtime story when I should have been asleep, though my interest was so piqued that I shared the titular character’s inability to totally drift off to dreamland until the comforting familiarity of the concluding outro music had played. Well done, good and faithful Servants of the Mysterious God!
By the way, the mysterious headline story about antimatter stars got me thinking: Is the light from such antimatter stars, if they exist, composed of antiphotons? Would anti-stars give off anti-light? Wouldn’t a beam of anti-light striking normal matter cause mutual annihilation, or only if light and anti-light-photons and antiphotons-struck each other would there be explosive destruction?
When matter and antimatter collide to their mutual doom, does the release of energy give off both light and anti-light? Or is the answer that photons are incapable of being either normal matter or antimatter but are rather a particle that cannot be “anti” because visible light is merely a certain wavelength of electromagnetic radiation? (Come to think of it, I’ve heard of antiprotons and positrons, but is there an equivalent to an anti-neutron when the neutron has no charge?)
I’ve never heard of antimatter giving off anti-radiation, so I’m thinking that light (or EM radiation) from anti-stars would be the same thing as light (or EM radiation) from normal stars. I wonder if Jimmy and/or Dom would be able to shed some light on this topic, preferably not of the destructive anti-light variety. :)

My favorite variety of time travel stories are these mentally based ones (TT that occurs via something that affects the traveler’s mind) as opposed to the more traditional physically based variety. There are several of them. The most interesting one I’ve read thus far is a short novel written in 1966 by Philip K. Dick entitled _”NOW WAIT FOR LAST YEAR”._ In it, the “time machine” takes the form of a psychoactive drug.

I have a request that is kind of a recurring joke on your show. You always say
it's demons because it's always demons or it's always aliens because it's always aliens. Because people attribute everything to them.
My request is can you do a show that does a pro and con approach to the Aliens actually being demons.
I saw a UA-cam video of a pastor making a presentation why the phenomenon were demons.
I didn't go for the theology because I'm a Catholic but he didn't talk about theology.
His presentation was almost entirely on why the aliens were demons.
Some of the things he said was that a spiritual entity can go at incredible speeds and turn on a dime because there's nothing material . The same thing for going through space air water and Earth. They can do such things because they are spirits.
He also has an argument about how the aliens always use a different spacecraft they don't have one model like we have the fleet of stealth bombers or a fleet of fighter jets.
He claims that every single UAP is always different. He says that it is inefficient for any species to create so many different aircraft each one for one time only then never use it again.
I've never heard this that all the Alien aircraft are different .
I would like to see how you approach this subject.
    Keep up the great work.

Do you think you could share some info on how you make an episode in more detail? What hardware and software do you use? How long does it take in total, and how much is research vs recording vs editing, etc? Do you often refer to the same source material, or find new source material each time? I would love to learn more about the behind the scenes of an episode :)

This is my favorite episode so far this year!
I thought Jimmy's treatment and analysis of the Neeblewerk( spelling?) was a little wanting, Please consider two other thoughts:
First, in order for humans to evolve, a mutation must offer some way of improving the survival value of the species. A genetic mutation creating spiritual enlightenment doesn't demonstrate any survivability, in fact, it might be the case that it disadvantages a human. I don't see a reason to think The Neeblwerkt would be a product of evolution based on the evidence presented in the chronicles.
Second, nevertheless, if the Neeblewerkt is a product of evolution, I don't see any reason why the Neeblewerkt wouldn't be compatible with Catholicism. Natural selection doesn't prune for truth-value. The mutation, while profound and useful in the 40th century, might in fact be a false belief. There's no reason to think we couldn't evolve (or haven't already evolved!) with false beliefs through naturalistic evolution.

NEXT STOP: The Twilight Zone! Why does Akin get involved in this click bait rubbish? At Mass, we read the gospels and recite the Nicene Creed. which were written 2,000 and 1,700 years ago, respectively. They still make perfect make sense to us because truth is eternal - as is the Church Jesus Christ founded. Fast forward another 2,000 years and we get this pile of gibberish. Christ said his church would last until the end of the world. But this supposed man with a transposed brain casually relates that he went to Mass while joining the spirituality of the 4th Millennia (whatever that meant). It's lucky Thomas Aquinas is no longer around to listen to this gibberish. Shame on Akin for taking advantage of people's gullibility. But then, if they believe in an absurdity, like the proven nonsense of Medjugorje, they'll believe anything.

But for fun, let's say he did believe the story was authentic. In that case I'm not sure if he would feel the need to address it, considering that the second coming doesn't have a specific time limit associated with it.
