It's a small arcade machine! It looks just like the original! It plays Galaga! Or Galaxian! Or Ms. Pac-Man! Depending which one you buy! Exclamation mark!
Remember the days of the arcades? Want to relive them in a much smaller format? Well here's your chance! It's more nostalgia pieces for collect-o-people, and nice ones they are too. Prepare to sell a kidney though, as non-rubbish scale replicas don't come cheap.
#Galaga #Galaxian #Arcade - Ігри
In slowly mapping out his house. Video by video I'll slowly have a full scale map of his house.
Insert Moggy Expertenrunde episode that talks about heat refrence here :
I'd be less frightened if your name wasn't Muhammed.
Plot twist: those are full-size arcade machines, all your measurements are off!
@Chris The Pack Rat That's one of those beautiful sentences which you immediately know has never been written before now.
Didn't they show most of his house in quest of the game child
Plot twist: They're actually full scale arcades, and Ashens is a giant.
"Dodeet dodeet dodoo"
"Hello!" Booms across the British Isles as the mad giant begins another review
Years of eating out of date candies and meat has caused Stuart to grow to an astounding size!
Stuart Big
Does that mean all the tat is too scale with him o-e
@@chris78946 he can shrink and revert back to his giant size at will.
The Ashens drinking game: Every "innit" or "isn't it"
Good luck.
Also: "or something", "right", "I lied!", "which is nice" and "it's a bit shite".
Ashens drinking game = pissed!
"So... yeah."
sounds a bit shite, innit?
"Hellow!"
When I see these things in a row, I imagine an Action Man standing up in front of one of them, posed as though he's playing it.
I once put my sister's Sindy before an Action Man firing squad. Much hilarity ensued.
UncleFeedle - Dress Action Man In Sindy’s clothes to create ‘Action Trans’!
@gary jones Oddly enough, she also thought it was funny. Sindy probably didn't, especially since she was blindfolded.
gary jones lol “this one time at band camp I put my Barbie up my bum”
maybe the slight "wiggle" on the galaga stick is also authentic to the original machine? 🧐🤔
That ending was ear candy for an 80s kid like me
And a 90s kid like me.
You just have to imagine the smell of cigarette smoke.
@@Okurka. And stale popcorn
Granted, I was 20 in 1982 but well do I remember the glorious sounds (and not so glorious smells) of the arcades of the day. That ending was truly music to my ears!
Brought back memories of Butlins holidays for me where I would spend as much time as possible in the arcades often just watching the machines, it was bliss to my young mind.
"Wibbly Drift" sounds like a really Britishy euphemism for erectile dysfunction.
Candace Dugan - Thank you. As a man of ‘a certain age’ I’m going to use that one!
^_^
Well that could just be.. orbital wobble!
Maybe it's just a slight inaccuracy in the way TARDIS operates?
either that or if Monty python filmed a fast and furious parody maybe...
The busy sounds of an arcade establishment. I love it.
Slowly I can imagine Stewart becoming the geriatric British museum curator.
Galaga is my favorite game. Nice to see it added to the quarter size scale collection.
Damn, that noise at the end with the galaga sound actually took me right back to my fav arcade. Only missing some Double Dragon, Dragon Ninja and Black Tiger.
You've got the full set, when you going to show us your yacht?
Dead
LOL
No yacht, he's saved up the money buying everything at poundland for the past 15 years
A Yacht? Are we talking about the same man we witnessed storing old arcade boards in his oven for a lack of storage space?
@Most Deadest Pool of em All. Indeed. Check his video about beer bread. That's where we see an arcade board in the oven.
That section at the end playing all the noises, thank you for that Stuart. It was a lovely moment of nostalgia to have =)
I thought ColecoVision had freed me. But 30 years later and I'm still given these cabinet machines all my money.
SWEET! I used to build these things in the 90s (the big ones)...always afraid of spiders..Now they just need to get the sound of coins going into slot down for nostalgia. In 40+ years, I have never heard "Galahhhguh.whatever"
Ashens strokes his cabinet while you watch.
You know things are serious when he's using the kitchen table instead of the sofa.
Damn, I'm going to develop an obsession with these mini arcade things
@jettestin I can relate. I am full blown OBSESSED with any gaming related miniatures, and trust me there’re a lot. This gets to be a costly endeavour.
The random Chef Excellence at the end there.
the arcade ambience was such a nice touch!
I have a original 1981 Galaga table top with the original boards which I have owned since 1983. the circuit boards in my machine are twice the size of this whole unit. amazing what has happened over the decades
Wow. These arcade games are so cool and so accurate
These are one of those 'if I was rich' things for me, and sadly I'm not, but damn they're nifty.
They're certainly too expensive for me but damn, has to be said, they're well priced for the quality! Barely over 100 pounds makes them perfectly affordable for the hard core collectors.
@gary jones Twat
They're pretty cool, but to be brutally honest if I were gonna buy modern clones, I'd rather just go for those Arcade1Up machines. I don't know if you can get those in the UK, but they're pretty close to full size (albeit, short) and not much more expensive.
@gary jones ok boomer
@gary jones ok boomer
I could fall asleep to the sounds of old arcade games
@gary jones that smell of electricity working its magic. Yes true lightning in a bottle
My brother once fell asleep in an arcade. When he woke up, somebody had stolen his shoes and shat in his shirt pocket.
Hah the nostalgia, memories of many evenings spent with those sounds in my teens.
Finally! actual good looking, working, and accurate model arcade machines that are small and a little bit affordable!
At those prices I would go for the larger models, I think the 1/2 scale ones at my local Walmart are only 200 or something like that.
the end was cool when you had them all going at once, thanks for that, brought back memories
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
I feel weird watching Ashens video without brown sofa in it!
Just not right
MoxDox my conspiracy is that the sofa has actually died, this video is just an excuse to move out of the sofa room. He will just keep making arcade videos until the sofa is forgotten
AchievementBird Ashens and a quest for sofa reviving heist
Have you seen his kitchen table?
Ashens you are one very lucky person owning these impressive arcade cabinets.
Thanks for that bit of arcade audio at the end.
That one guy on the bridge of the helicarrier will love it.
The ending gave me nostalgia chills
You know....that bit at the end was so nostalgic. It really did sound a bit like the arcades of my childhood.
A lot of your old videos are in my recommended. Looked your channel up to see if you're still making videos. Seems that your platform-style did not change which is cool. Subscribed!
Having a shelf of those machines would be awesome. Ashens is a lucky man.
I am over 50. Recently, I played a full-sized Galaga machine at my local movie theater; it was quite amusing to see my adult kids - who were at the movies with me - stare in shock whilst I posted a 700k high score. Without trying particularly hard.
I watched your video's before I even had my own channel, ashens.. that ending ... 🤣 EPIC !
Love your videos Stuart keep up the Good work, much love from Norway
I want one of those. They look cool.
Yup, that actually sounded like the arcade my mum took me too when I was young, if it had mad dog mccree it'd be perfect
Galaga was the first game I ever played as a small bratty weeaboo, back in the early 1980s thanks to my dad accidentally getting me an Atari 7800 instead of an NES... and to this day, I STILL play Galaga when I can find it on an arcade cabinet.
$150 really isn't that bad considering the quality. I might pick up Galaga for my mother as a Christmas gift, that was her jam back in the day.
Discovered one of my neighbors had (or has, not sure if they were taking or bringing) a few old arcade cabinets a while back... Nothing like that feeling of jealousy that shot through me.
If they ever make a Sinistar one I'm _so_ getting one.
Ah Sinistar, the first arcade game to actually scare the crap out of me.
Can they secure the rights to the audio in Sinistar tho? I heard that Sinistar doesn't actually use a voice synth chip but digital audio (one of the first arcade games to use the then cutting edge technology). The VA has since passed away. And as you know, dead video game voice actors are always a huge legal barrier.
Ron, Howard!
Oh boy...my sister is now 62 but mark my words, if this company ever released Sinistar (or Gyruss) she'd kill to buy them :)
The ending, ohh the nostalgia
So many minis! And New Wave is doing a mini Dragon's Lair machine, which I can't wait for. I'm like Homer Simpson drooling about donuts, except my donuts are mini arcade machines.
These are really cool holy crap
There's also yet another Galaga that was called Galaga Arrangement that had two players on-screen. It also had more enemies, more upgrade ships, and it actually had an ending.
A pint of ga laga. I remember playing Gaplus in the local hypermart way back then. And Galaga and Galaxians elsewhere.
Just hearing that Galaga takes me right back to being a kid and waiting on our food at the local pizza place.
Was strange to see all the 1UP arcade machines stacked up in the Walmart when I was over in the USA. They were a one-day special in Aldi for about $200 and all sold out
Nice set , Ashens!
my favorite video game. Was a pinball fan then
Can you ride the gate on the Pac Man one? Or is it also authentic in that you have to return the stick to neutral to change directions?
Aye,the sound of an old arcade with the smell of ciggy smoke wafting about.
" As weird ponces call it " 😂😂😂😂
I want that dig dug one :)
Very cool
I actually saw one of those 1up Arcade Countertop versions in Office Max. In the same display as one of the myriad of Atari Flashback consoles.
My God Stuart you are a Doctor, dagnabit!! Treat yourself to a better table! But don't touch the brown sofa, ok? That thing is iconic.
Yeah I've got Pacman and Galaga so far, the plan is to have a mini arcade in my spare room. Also hook up all these mini classic game consoles I've got, get a bean bag and never need to leave the house [or that room] again.
Ashens should do a review of old star trek stuff
I feel like these guys found the perfect channel to advertise these things.
That man is playing Galaga. Thought we wouldn't notice.
Walmart near me just put out their display of these machines. I have to wonder if they use original ROMs: the Galaga trick to make the enemies stop shooting should work, and patterns on Pac-Man should work as well as the 256th board bug.
They're releasing a Dig Dug quarter arcade in May 2020!
There was Galaga 3, then later there was Galaxian 3, then Galaxian 3 eventually had its own threequel.
Nice one, Namco.
Man, at the end there all you needed was a machine yelling MORTAL KOMBAT! and you would have had my teenage years in the mid 90s..
Would love to get one of the TMNT arcade.
I started collecting these late, as I had not heard of them and they must have fixed the issue with the joystick on Galaga and Galaxian as my sticks only move left and right.
They are also making more of each (except the 40th anniversary Pac Man) which is nice because I got to spend $150 for Ms Pac Man off Amazon instead of $450 off eBay.
Methos: "That could just be orbital wobble."
Pretty nice items, but i would like to see quarter pinball machines, they would be awesome.
That's an interesting idea, but straight up replicas probably wouldn't work right, because physics.
@@dickbison if the dimensions correct in theory it should still work. I had a mini pinball table when i was a kid. True it was very very basic but even so.
I can't imagine these would be nice to play. They look nice though.
I bought a broken mini arcade machine just like that one and installed a raspberry pi. Took a bit but now I can play retro Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and Sega games.
NICE
You got a link to any tutorials on how to do that ?
I've actually seen one of the Ms. Pac-Man machines in the wild without a kickstand on it
this sound at the end gave me a smell of cigarettes, sweat and junk food on the nose.
Haaa nostalgia.
When he turned the sound on for all of them at once, it sounded exactly like the game RAD by DoubleFine.
Cheers from America
My biggest wish is to have Ashens commenting on cat videos. I bet he be brilliant at it, making up funny stories that leads up to whatever shenanigans those magical furry goofballs are up to, and that sort of things. It would be hilarious. Come on, let's make this happen!
Ashens has this tiny Galaga machine, and the mall in my town has a giant one (where I have gotten first place)
This would be a full sized arcade machines for Warwick Davis 🤣🤣
those are so cool! i’ve seen the same type of arcade games at walmart for about $20....there slightly smaller though. 🙂
I don’t think these particular models are expensive. That’s about the same price as a used iphone. I’d definitely buy one. But do these come in the fighting style themed games? fighting games are my favorite! 😜
I really miss that chef excellence tune.
Ecellent video I would love to collect these but at £150 I needed resuscitating after hearing that
Collect them all!
Pet gerbil or hamster would love to play , Just finding coins the right size to insert may be tricky.
"From the space year 1981".....makes me wonder how space years are different to Earth years. Also, saying "space year" makes Ashen sound like the Doctor (now THAT'S a Doctor Who Unbound audio I'd want to hear!)
So when does the yacht turn up in Great Yarmouth?
Yay more arcade gubbins from ashens
Yay a furry sorry I had to
YOU'RE THE BEST, ASHENS! And I love these things!
Hopefully they'll start making Neo-Geo MVSes next.
Though to be honest I'll most likely still with a Pi for my arcade play sessions.
It would be really cool if they added a sound effect of the coin rolling and dropping.
I was gonna say some quarter size quarters to lineup along the bottom of the screen and quarter size cigarettes so you could put quarter size burn marks on your machine to give an even more authentic look but, that would just be silly wouldn't it?
Really want to know what the internal platform is?
Man, those are really nice and well made - if you've got the money to burn.
I feel like Jirard Khalil would probably have some of these in the TOVG Office.
What’s written on the plug socket on the far right?
Man, I just watch Joe from the Game Sack feature the PacMan one in his end skit, funny coincidence
Really hoping they bring out a Mappy or Xevious one too :D
will the ms pacman have the speed hack thingiee? please find out
