twitch ASMR is bottom tier ASMR. They are constantly talking to chat and reading donations which ruins asmr. People don't go there for the ASMR they go there for the BOOBA and sexual lip bites. Yt has the real ASMR content that isn't interrupted or sexual(for the most part)

I like that "it is what it is" isnt so much a "Oh no no one can or wants to do anything to change something." But more of, We need to call something by what it is so we can properly handle it. You cant diagnose a problem before IDENTIFYING it and that starts with a little bit of truth everytime. It is what it is. Next step.
But there is some things that you can't change and some that you can but maybe you shouldn't, you just have to accept for "what it is".
The fact there's even an ASMR section OF Twitch tells you everything you need to know. Twitch has no justification now to even have a ToS.

I first discovered ASMR videos on UA-cam in 2011 or 2012 (way before that if you want to include people like Bob Ross). That is when ASMR was innocent. It really has changed a lot. It has grown, but has changed. The first UA-cam user to upload an official ASMR video is QueenOfSerene ASMR.
back then I use to listen to people tap on the mic and various other things just to occupy my mind, get spine tingles, and decompress after a stressful day. Now ASMR is just considered a sexual thing to the general public.

If they do it’s whatever (they could easily find much worse) I just don’t like the double standards these companies have. My first experience with ASMR was when I was a little kid and my step mother would read books to me before bed. So the ASMR that I listen to these days is someone reading books softly and/or sketching/painting, as well as building legos.
I can't stand what it's turned into. I just want to hear someone speak softly, not tongue fuck my ears. I don't even go to restaurants that much anymore because the way people eat is vile and it ruins my appetite.

Literally all he said and his entire simple point was ONLY that the ASMR section of Twitch has become nearly entirely sexualized at this point, and Twitch is somehow complicit when it breaks their own ToS(but then go and enforce their ToS on borderline cases that arent nearly as sexual as the majority of the ASMR section on Twitch). Hes very clearly not saying all ASMR is inherently sexual, or that all people who like ASMR listen to it due to sexual motivations, nor is he saying he thinks that all ASMR is like that. Literally his only point was that the ASMR section on Twitch is 100% sexualized now and against ToS, which is objectively true, nothing else.
This isn't a criticism on ASMR as a whole. It is a comment on the ASMR content in the Twitch website specifically, which is undeniably saturated with a very specific type of ASMR.
most people get that. i for example dont watch asmr cause it does nothing for me but i understand the appeal. our issue isnt with asmr itself. not even with the fact that its sexualized on twitch. we just want twitch to take a clear stance for or against sexual content. cause the most successful asmr streamers on twitch have sexual intentions while the terms of service clearly disclose that sexual content is prohibited. and yet, twitch allows this.

They make money off two things: Ads and donations. Sexual content is horrible for ads, but great for donations. So Twitch has *no* incentive to strongly come out for or against one or the other.
