50 Cal AirGun - AMMO TEST - Розваги
Now you should do a milk jug test to see which one has better penetration and expansion! If you're within 100yds of a deer I don't think the php ones would be that much worse than the balls for accuracy and they might perform better when they hit
Paper plates to judge penetration, this is what he used on the 450 bushmaster and the 4570.
I think he should do plates and milk jugs lol! Let's see them do the gauntlet.
@@kbullguy7246 I think WHO-TEE-WHO is going to have us all over for a picnic. He asked me to bring forks, spoons and knives!
@@radiowaveguitarist1332 I think the paper plates should be soaked in water…
Hey bud, I don't know if anyone has mentioned it to you, but if you're really chasing accuracy and groups you should look in to a tether and regulator to connect your rifle to your refill tank while you shoot. The regulator will keep a consistent pressure behind each shot and will eliminate the need to refill every few shots.
I was looking at the Dragon Claws' cousin, the Recluse in 9mm. 925+fps, that is 9mm subsonic territory. 😲Air guns can definitely pack a punch. 🥊
Love your name 😁
Wasn’t expecting the round ball to do better than the conical bullet. Thanks for the video.
This is about to be a really fun video!
Definitely would love to see a ballistic gel and milk jug test soon! Love the videos, man. Keep it up.
Chrono. You need to know the speed to ensure it's viable beyond 50 yds. I would suggest, unless mfg says no way, loading the phps backwards to see if they'll seal better, loke a hollow base wadcutter. Also load the round balls with the sprue end forward or rearward to make a better seal.
The arrow function is pretty cool too.
Do a Chronograph test on it. To see if it's faster than a 50 cal muzzleloader.
I've run chronograph tests with my LSS Texan, with pill weights from 177 grain to 410grain. The lighter pills do move as much as 100 fps faster . My particular rifle seems to like the 350 grain pills accuracy wise. Those were running right at 770fps, with just under 500fpe. Cut it back to the 240grain , and was running 940 fps, at 430 fpe. So ya, they'll run at powder bullet velocities consistent with the 45acp with the 45 cal air rifle.
Out of curiosity can you use those same 50 cal projectiles out of a 50 cal muzzleloader?
Love to see a ballistic gel test maybe after you get different slugs not sure paper plate safe maybe behind cover also there are different valves that can double ft lbs have you heard about those
And if you can believe it Pyramid Air has some air rifles and pistols that are stronger than the Dragon Claw which still impresses me. Now the prices are pretty serious given that they are just using air but again these aren't your standard or entry level air rifles and pistols. Great company that is really doing amazing work in the Air rifle and pistols realm!.
Figured the bullet would have done better than the ball bearing but best part about having a new toy is that ya get to play and eventually you'll be showing us cloverleaf groups and we get the benefit of lots of videos😁 I believe i watched Keith and Matti Warren drop cape Buffalo with their dragon claw and some big deer at 100 plus yards.
Also-next tests-do the water filled milk cartons, clay blocks, and paper plate stacks!I want to see just what this baby can do!
If you like flinging boolots, and making little
What do you call the sound the Dragon Claw makes? Ha ha.
Here another gud ammo is made by Hornady called .50cal hard ball 165gr swag round ball in a sabot sleeve, 1" groups are no problem and get complete pass through on white tail deer out to 60 yards! Nice test results keep the the air moving!
If you haven't done it yet , try some 3 shot groups on half power, keep up the good work man and we'll see you again tomorrow
If going to a higher weight projectile the accuracy goes down I would suspect the rifling is too slow of twist rate , maybe take it back to 100 yds and check for keyholing ? i Have to wonder if the base should be hollow to allow the base to better grip the rifling assuming they are soft enough
That is a nice flanger of multiple projectiles which is very cool ! I'm late as I was shopping for a car battery. Thanks WTW
This sure isn’t the Red Rider I got for my first air gun. Have seen many big game taken with air powered boo lots nowadays. This is one of the new technologies that I’d like to own. Everything from .177, 22 , 9mm, 30 and the 50 caliber available now. Thanks again WTW YA DA MAN 🐉🔪💪🏽💯👍
Awesome groups💥 I didn't expect the round balls to be on top.
Wow! What a monster of an air gun. Beautiful looking gun looks like it performed well. I was expecting less for being an air gun in 50 cal but it looks like it did great. I'd buy one. I live in Milwaukee, and I would definitely take it
when I go up North hunting.
Thanks, another great video.
💪💪
Awesome WTW! Awesome weapon and ammo!🤘🏽🤘🏽
Thinking we need..... one more go around!?!? Cool stuff!!!
Fun stuff! You can do some paper plate and water jug testing too!
Some great accuracy testing. Lot of your caster can properly cast you some home made lead projitelles for it.
I would have guessed the PHP would have grouped better. I hope you do a clay block test with it. With all three ,, the RB , PHP, and the arrow. Thanks for the video.
Can't wait to see what shapes on bullets you find and how they perform.
Would definitely like to see it from Caldwell rest as well as trying with a sabot and/or a more aerodynamic ballistic tip; maybe even a rifled slug if it’s a smooth bore which I imagine it is. Keep up the good work of interesting content. I’ve gotta know what was causing the .270 to have bigger groups.
It has a rifled bore.
I shoot a gamo socom break barrel .177 cal when I can’t afford ammo. I had an awesome Benjamin 22 cal break barrel that was a beast but gave it to my dad bc he enjoyed it more than me.
You the man Wtw!!!
I think I’d look for some hollow base pellets. The skirt on the back opens to fit the lands and usually improves accuracy. I’d also try groups on low power settings as well. On mine I can usually tune the regulator and get most pellets to shoot acceptable groups.
Man. I love that thing. It's a beast!
Enjoyed the video as always I've had bad experience with big open hollow points on Windy days shoot great on calm days not so great Windy
Those are some tight groups. I might need to get one of these.
Definitely worth group testing same as bing bangs
Pretty cool, and at 50 yards seems to be a viable Option. I wanna see clay blocks with it :)
Clay blocks soon!
Nice setup 👌! I am a very big fan of the airgun industry!(hence the name) and I have got most of my rifles from pyramidair
umm there is a .72 cal airgun if u wanna try it😏 same caliber as 12 gauge and it's awesome, and THANK YOU! SOOO MUCH for allll the fun and hard work 🤗
That's the problem with cast slugs, lead density changes during casting and it's really hard to get consistency with the slugs . Haven't used the round balls yet, but took a nice doe with mine last season. But even shot impacted about 4 inches from point of aim. Aimed for heart shot but took out both lower lungs instead. But had little bullet deformation. A little over a half inch in and out the other side.
You don't need a silencer, you just buy an airgun! Can't wait to see the chronograph test, and the milk jug test!🇺🇲✝️🇺🇲
Isaiah 9:6
Can’t wait to see you do some 100 yard groups.
With the Umarex NXG multipump cal. 177 I too have better groupings with steel bbs than with "target" type of pellets. At least within 10/15 yards. Probably due to the barrel being smooth...
It did better then a thought🔥🔥🔥
I'm enjoying the air rifle videos. I'd like to see you try a more traditional bullet-shaped pellet.
Wow i was def not expecting those results at all. I would have lost that bet for sure lol Great video, looking forward to some hunting videos with the "Dragon Claw"
Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I like shooting RB pellets that I use in my .22. RB has less drag than flat base pellets
Definitely try higher spec ammo like a Spitzer shape as I think accuracy should be better than what your getting but interesting video look forward to follow up on this ...
I wander if you could put a 50cal muzzle loader round threw that thing. You should try it out for me. Lol
Think you should call em pel-lots! 😂
😝😝😝
Great video “hootie and the dragon claw” lol would love to see a bullet drop video with the air rifle
Coming soon
Great alternative with ammo prices so high.
That's pretty cool, thought the PHP would have done better. Good video WTW
Good video buddy. You need to find an NSA Cast Slug that will shoot a lot better than the Air Venturi cast. The Neilsen Specialty Ammunition is so much more accurate with the tighter tolerances. Night and day difference.
What about muzzel speed of the round ball and pentagon? And the kinetic energy at 50 yards. Just curious of the numbers?
Will the round ammo fall down the barrel if the gun is pointed down? Also can you test .50 cal slingshot ammo in it I can't really afford the normal ammo and slingshot ammo is my best bet but I don't have the gun and I don't know if it will work
It would be interesting to try some 50 cal sabot rounds used in muzzle loaders
Don`t forget to shoot it threw your chroni to find the sweet spot . This will tell where to fill it to to get the max fps . . It will be a little lower than a full fill. Mine starts to shoot faster after the 2nd shot .
Crazy that you got a better group with round ball#?*!
As I’m in the Philippines at the moment firearms are legally off the menu , so I’ve got my crossbows etc so next is effective air guns are what is interesting me n mine at the moment so appreciate these vids , God bless n thanks
Wait till squirrels season open up n pop a dime size hole in them
I like it time for some ballistic gel
Have you ever tryed a Keltec PMR 30, 22 mag ? Very light weight, holds 30 rds.
? What kind of speed are u getting out of the air gun
Should make/buy your own mould and make your own pellets. Would love to see a video on that. Keep up the good work love watching your videos everyday
Thanks for watching Kyle
I’m starting to think you have a new love in your life that’s named dragon claw lmao!!!! I love my pcp air rifles also.
I always had the best luck with Diablo shaped pellets.
Great content Who Tee Who 👍
🙏🙏🙏
I think you should try putting the pellets in with the hollow part to the back like a normal pellet gun!
smooth bore air guns with a round projectile have always been more accurate. it seems that way to me.
Can you shoot the .498 pellets in this rifle safely or just .495 ?
Need to chronograph this!
👍👍
To the prison who asked but might not have seen it,
technically a 50 BMG bullet could be shot from a 50 cal air gun, but the problem is 50 cal air gun is .510 whereas 50 BMG is .511 it might work but with the hard case without sizing it down it won't fit if size down to .509 or .508, it might work but now you have to also consider the weight of a 50 BMG bullet is around 600-800 gr typically, and a 50 cal air gun is 200-400 gr, so with a high-powered airgun you just might be able to but I'm not sure and I wouldn't trust it that much, but it is plausible.
Try something between 150 and 160 grain tipped pellet. Should tighten up that group. 👍
Very interesting results. Have you gotten any velocities yet? I just watched the clay block vid. Pretty impressive for a pellet gun. Gel tests?
Not speeds yet
I have a friend that has an Umarex Hammer 50 cal and it slings a 550 grain organ crusher and I believe their 72 cal. People were shooting Red Deer at 100 yards with the 50 cal. Unbelievable.
I was thinking about that one but I close the dragon claw instead... shoot some shotshells and more shots per fill!
Its has more than enough power to me.. especially with the bolts, it can shoot all smaller than a elephant..😂😂😂
I would have assumed the round ball would be better without rifling and the other bullets with rifling I think with a round ball rifling or no rifling it doesn't matter as it's round so it doesn't need spin stabilization
I wasn't sure because no rifling on bullets and I wasn't sure about your barrel I don't think you covered it on the other videos but you may have I might go back and look.
As always i read a few comments before commenting seems to keep me frome getting to far out there lol any way here goes ! It wood be neat to see how quickly the speed drops off with a chronograph in a ten shot group across it and a penetration measure in ballistics gel lots of of possible videos even a tank and hose so to keep the air even for better groups wa yea nothing you haven’t thought about already probably !!!!! ( :
Maybe you need to load the roundballs with a lubed patch and a lubed wad under the pellets. 😉
My first question is ‘what’s the velocity you are launching those at’?
Chronograph and ballistic gel, or at least milk jugs, would tell a lot about performance.
Good shooting . Can you use sabots, like in black powder guns. the sabot would be loaded from the back instead of the front.
Not sure
Sweet! No round!
What are speed on chronograph?
You are more accurate with that pellet gun than a 50 cal rifle. Just kidding good video. 😆
This thing is AWESOME!!!
Pyramyd Air Coupon code: "WTW" - $10 off any purchase of $100+
WTW, You need to contact
Keith Warh from High Road Hunting, hes been using that air rifle for years, & has even taken it to Africa & taken a Black Cape Buffalo with it....
Oh, Daisy Air Rifle has been around at least (2) twice as long as you been alive,,,Daisey Red Rider BB gun......
I would love for you to catch one of these to see how much they engage the rifling, especially the round ball.
Have you fired this over a chrono yet?
If you tether to your tank, just make sure that your tank pressure isn’t higher than what your gun can handle. If it is, then you will need another valve to reduce your pressure down, until your tank pressure drops down to what your gun max fill pressure is. My Texan I fill up to 2,800 PSI
I was into pellet guns, air guns, whatever you want to call it yrs ago. Back then, the German made air guns were tops.
Is it regulated? If it is, no need to top off between 3 shot groups, all shots will be the same until theres not enough air left for full shot.
Whats the velocities of these projectiles? How many shots per tank at lo power-and at high? This is an interesting weapon.
I'm with you. I thought the pentagon ones would be more accurate 🤔
Veri nice video. Greetings from Nis, Serbia
Maybe I missed it but wondering if it's rifled or smooth bore ,I thought the PHP would have done better also .
Rifled
Nielson specialty ammo is the best I've found. I like 254 grain. Lethal.
Lewis and Clark used an air powered gun for hunting.
Does the Dragon Claw have a groved barrel or a smooth bore?
Rifled barrel
I've always wondered if these things are rifles I only know of 1 that is and it's a 22 I can't remember if it's Winchester Remington or Ruger one of them are rifles I've seen at Walmart but I'd say it would have to be to get a out to 1)9 yards accurately
Have you crono'ed it yet? That'd be cool to see. Great vid I love air rifles you can shoot and not wind up in the poor house.😉
Not yet
Paper plate test between the 2
Maybe even reverse the pellet to see what it does.
Personally I think you pulled some shots by not gripping the gun and just pulling the trigger how you like doing.
Nielson specialty ammo, swaged not cast thus no spru. Slug the pipe and size ammo accordingly and your dragon claw will shine!!!
Every airgun likes its own pellets. You just have to find the pellets your airgun likes.
