    Pcp guns are hard to master, no shame there. Every model has a "favorite" slug and weight. Only after a couple hundreds of shots you'll get really precise with it. Amazing ammo though

    Malfunctions are why PCP airguns are typically just for plinking and hunting and aren't reliable enough for home defense. Hope you get it fixed without too much hassle. The seals are more likely blow out when shooting non-conventional ammo. You are definitely having fun though and making some great videos is the whole point.

    • @MexicoAdventurer

      Some PCP weapons are home defense ready. But yeah, you want something coming out of the end of the barrel when you pull the trigger.

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  Рік тому +3

      Huff I seem to be getting all the malfunctions! How many have I had already, in just one year?! Ahahahaha but it’s all part of the process and it’s important to show how not everything is always perfect (including/especially the video maker!).
      I’ve only shot two pcp rifles so far and both were single shot, so just for that I’d rule them out for home defence. Then they’re purely deadly, in big caliber like this, they’re pretty much a firearm.
      They do however serve my new favorite sport perfectly: wild plinking!
      Thanks K! As you said, the most important thing is to have fun. Keep up your great work on you channel my friend!

      @ScaredyCatTactical Рік тому +2

      @@sven471111 I can't comment on any specific PCP airgun. I can say that airguns are left alone by the ATF (for now) for a reason. That's because PCPs require a very determined individual who is very attentive to detail and ready to do lots of routine maintenance, not to mention maintain a compressor and all of the hassle associated with it. Most criminals are too lazy to use an airgun to commit a crime. Maybe some PCPs more reliable than others, but I wouldn't use one for lethal defense. I use CO2 and HPA powered tanks for less lethal defense and it has a lot of the same limitations but for non-life threatening situations.

    It's important to learn your hold-overs with your guns while shooting longer distances. Many scopes have little dots or lines along the crosshairs. These allow you to gauge your impact points at longer distances once you learn your hold-overs. With your distances measured, choose a distance to zero your crosshairs. Shoot at paper targets at other ranges, and look to see which vertical marks on the crosshairs your point of impact is. It can help to keep a list of marks and ranges.
    Also keep in mind that different projectiles are going to have different aim points.

    I always enjoy watching your videos but be careful trying to bring 2 worlds together you’ll start losing viewers that are strictly looking for less lethal co2 stuff not pcp stuff. I myself have some high end pcp rifles but they are absolutely in their own leagues because I don’t consider pcp stuff less lethal people actually hunt decent size game with pcp rifles which takes them way out of the less lethal realm. I’m not trying to tell you how to run your channel I’m just sharing my opinion.

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  Рік тому +3

      Hey my man, I very much appreciate your comment and opinion. You are extremely right and you hit the nail right on the head.
      On top of that I would add: “for someone who doesn’t even hunt, what the hell are you shooting hunting guns for?!”
      The answer to that is because they give me great satisfaction given that I love blowing stuff up and filming it in slow motion. So these PCP rifles are pure pleasure for me.
      I’ll always keep doing less-lethal (and as I state in all my videos I only promote shooting not living objects). Heck I just invested a few hundred dollars in a ballistic dummy, to test out all my T4Es.
      One thing shouldn’t discard the other and I hope my viewers understand that. Making weekly videos that constantly remain interesting and updated is not easy at all and it’s important to be innovative and always broaden to new possibilities. I’m sure I’ll lose many viewers, but I hope to find new ones that are more understanding.
      Again thank you my friend! 🙌🏼

      @@AirgunAlley yeah I don’t hunt anything with my pcp rifles they are used for target shooting only. But if you look on UA-cam you’ll find plenty of guys hunting with pcp rifles from birds, iguanas, coyotes, wild hogs you name it. There are some very powerful pcp rifles out there that will do as much damage as a regular rifle and that’s why I was saying they are in 2 totally different leagues. I don’t mind the videos because I own less lethal stuff and some high end pcp guns so the videos you’re doing I’m ok with but there will be viewers that won’t be I’ve seen it on channels before. Once again only my opinion and it’s your channel and you do what you want to do whatever is making you happy is all that matters. Like I said I own both so I’m ok with it lol.

Adjustable cheeck peace, trigger and butstock. Might be the best budget PRS pcp rifle, fraction from FX M3.

    First time watching! My observation regarding all sub 250 fpe 50 cals, I Think they are best utilized with airgun bolts. At least if hunting. The bolts have tremendous lethality potential that far exceeds the potential of pellets or slugs in low power air platforms.
    Sorry to see the rifle lay down. What got my attention was shooting .308 out of the .50! I am a big .308 Texan fan!!!! Awesome rifles with a life time warranty. Yes they are pricey but I do think you get what you pay for in the airforce brand. I've had mine for almost two years and have shot it so much I started casting my own bullets for it and also firearms. So, more than 2500 shots and 2 yrs of ownership, I have done nothing but clean and put air in the rifle. Power? The .308 makes over 275 fpe with 180 grn slugs which out powers your 50 cal if I'm not mistaken. Accuracy, 2" groups at 100 yards is typical in most weather conditions. Light breezes have minimal effect on 120 grn cast lead slugs. On a good day, the rifle will almost shoot 1" @ 100 yds. These rifles are commonly available for about $300 more than your .50 cal.
    here is a video of the .308 testing a hollow point 130grn cast bullet. If you compare how this full 5 gal jug reacts versus the 1/2 full one you shot I think you'll see what I mean about power.
    ua-cam.com/video/6jfPL1xV5Y0/v-deo.html
    Accuracy at 100 yards with the HP bullet shown above (lowered velocity to get 3 grouping shots from one fill). They hit at point of aim.
    ua-cam.com/video/plfHAxo31Cs/v-deo.html
    I don't review rifles. I don't sell merch. I just like to shoot and try to share what I've learned in last 2 years regarding air guns. I come from a powder burner back ground. Keep making videos. keep shooting, practice makes perfect. However, if you're new to shooting start at whatever distance you can hit the target you are trying to hit. I can't learn from your misses unless you have some hits too... keep trying and good luck with the rifle repair.
    Enjoyed your video! Cheers!

    it was fun to watch and entertaining my advise for quick sighting you put first the bore sight then at 10-15 meters/away on a white paper target make 1 or 2 shots after each shot even if its 1 move the scope where the hole is. This way you can do 1 shoot at home 10 meters away. Then when you go at the shooting range make another 1 shot and adjust at the first shot 2nd and on 3rd shot at 50 or 25 you are sighted. I have to preffer places with dirt below the target not grass becouse when you hit dirt it fly and you see your impact in grass nothing happens so maybe few shovels around the target are a got idea. but the main thing is to make few shots on 10-20 meters first before go to 50 lot easier.

    long distance shooting is a whole nother animal. practice w your 1077 in your big back yard. gradually increase distance to learn the drop and how to comp. When i used to shoot a standard 22lr at 100 yards it wass usually around 12 inches lower than 20-50 yards which is what i zeroed at. So sight in your 1077 at 20 feet then move back to 30 to see how much it drops. With the big boy i would start w/ sighting in at 20 yards.

    A bore sighted is to get you on paper. Then you sight it in on a paper target, you were consistently hitting low hence the red sabots in the edge of the table haha I'm guessing the others went just below the table. I'd suggest getting a lead sled rifle rest to shoot from so you 100% steady and know what your gun can produce accuracy wise and also did you run the gun too low on the shot that lost air? That's normally a "tank dump" and occurs when your tank pressure is too low to close the valve back up. And it probably just stayed open which would just piss air when trying to fill. Not sure if you can fix it without taking it apart but I'm sure there's videos of it on UA-cam but it also might be an oring problem in which you'd have to disassemble. Btw there's an upgrade valve kit that makes that gun shoot really hard I think over 400fpe after the install. Good luck fixing it I'm anxious to see how those sabots do accuracy wise

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  Рік тому +1

      Hey man! Amazing input, thank you! Hahaha did you see how I filled that table frame with sabots! I did aim higher, more to the right, more to the left… it was like a big black hole was sucking them in it. The led sled is a great idea and I feel like it would’ve helped a lot.
      I actually refilled the tank every time it hit the yellow, so that’s why it’s so puzzling, never went even close the empty.
      Anyway, before I open it up, I’ll hope in the warranty - it’s only one month old. And thanks for the upgrade heads up. I cannot imagine the power it’d gain, given that it’s such a beast already! I’ll have to try that…

    That was a good video. Everything does not always go perfect in my world. It is too bad that everybody is trying too make their millipn off of just a few sales. Not everybody is rich and has tons of money too invest in the shooting sports. I am assuming because of an educated guess that the gun cost upward of or more then $1000 and the spare tank coat upward of or more then $ 1000 and the compressor too get that much pressure cost $ 1000 or more. All the cost has priced me out of this form of shooting sport. I can still afford the spring or pump style of air gun or the spring that flings small pellets.

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  Рік тому

      Hi David, thank you so much for your kind comment, and indeed not everything goes perfect.
      This sport is extremely expensive and it obliges you to just keep spending. It can also become a true addiction. But to make you feel a tad better, I can tell you that things are a bit cheaper. The gun I bought for a little over 600$. The cheapest compressor is around 260$ (which I suspect won’t last very long) and the small tank costs nearly 400$.
      Still, all very expensive indeed! Spring pellet guns are indeed the answer!! 🙌🏼

    I do not like laser bore sights I do mine the old school way first you need to get yourself a LED sled or a nice benchrest of some sort store-bought homemade whatever so it is always in the same spot when you go to sight in your scope the way I do it I get a big piece of paper or cardboard and I will start this at 10 or 15 yards so you know your shot always lands on the paper or cardboard your shooting at shoot the paper wherever that whole is adjust your crosshairs to that hole and you'll hit the same spot every time and if you want to slide it back further keep doing that in five or ten yard intervals and your gun will be cited in perfectly at whatever yardage it is you want to be shooting at you also have to take into account the projectiles weight if the projectile you are using is heavier than the projectile you originally cited it in with it will hit low you have to adjust your windage and aim a little bit higher if the projectile is lighter than the projectile you used to sight in your scope it's going to shoot higher naturally so you would have to aim lower I have a 22 break barrel that I can hit a little over the size of a silver dollar piece at 60 yd this is the method I used to sight in my scopes

    At what yard did you bore sight your gun whatever yardage you sighted in at and then you move back further you have to aim higher so if you sighted in for 20 yards and then move back to 30 your hold will have to be a little bit higher and if you move closer your hold will have to be a little bit lower

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  Рік тому

      Hey thanks Robert! No in this case I didn’t move. I sighted the scope from the same spot where I shot from.
      Spot on! Indeed I needed to aim higher. I had half the slugs pierce the bottom frame of the table.
      The fact that there was no dirt wasn’t helpful either, as I couldn’t see where the projectiles were hitting. Tall windy grass was not ideal. Anyway, will get out there to practice more and will definitely keep your input in mind. Thank you again!!

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  Рік тому +1

      Hey Marc, congrats on your new gun!! That’s a great questions. I’ve heard all answers, most suggesting the two extremes. So I leave it in the yellow. Consider I shoot it once or twice a month, I think the middle way is the safest. Should I park it for long periods, then I’d probably leave it in the red.
      And on another issue, you’ll hear people telling you to cock your gun every time you fill it. But the manual says that you only need to cock it when the tank is completely empty. I go with the manual…

    Hey things don't always go your way, I like the frank and honest way you ended this video, might I suggest that you zero the rifle at 30yds against paper targets so that you get the bull every time and work up your distance from there as once the shot is on target it's mainly elevation with some compensation for windage, I hope that you're back out there with it soon.
    By the way, my .22 air rifle had been set up by the shop with a laser marker and it was way off, I had to set it myself at about 40ft and adjust for a longer shot which wasn't far as my old garden was only 58ft from the bedroom window but it was great fun picking off the pigeons which had been wrecking my wife's vegetables.
    There are also exploding rounds available for the .22! I think they are called Kvintor Flashbang and they are loud!

  • @al5563
    @al5563 Рік тому +1

    Accuracy problems can be caused by different reasons. It is necessary to rule out possibilities. First, shoot at a 50x50cm cardboard target. So you know where it is hitting and you can correct the accuracy. Shoot at a distance of 10 meters, sheltered from the wind (thus disregarding the wind factor), and then you increase the distance. Trying with a target you will know if the problem is caused by the viewfinder, the laser or a bad technique. Second, check the pressure of your finger on the trigger. If you press too hard, it impairs the pressure. The finger must press slowly and gradually, until the shot comes out by surprise. Another problem may be the sabot projectile, it seems to me that it is not stable. Air leakage is normal. PCP rifles have many problems. Sometimes it can be fixed with Loctite for threads. A hug, bro.

    No disrespect at all I love your video content but I have to ask…do you see how your ammo will pattern down range before you try and hit small objects at distance? Find what groups the best and at what pressure being an unregulated gun. It may only like a couple rounds out of 5 or more brands, weights and sizes/styles. Whatever is wrong with the gun it will be a simple fix on a gun not overly complicated. Stay blessed.

    When gtting new ammo u can have a perfectly centered scope and get flyers. Get a wooden backdrop or something and mount ur gun so it can aim at a P.O.I. without being moved and shoot some rounds. Find out if your grouping is good or bad and that will tell u alot about ur rounds. And from there if u like them u can zero in based on ur results. U did great on the video though overall!
