I follow Dr. Ellie’s mouth care system. Bad breath, even in the morning rarely exists unless I am a bit dehydrated. Well, if you only drink water, eat healthy, you are doing 90% right. But easier said than done. For me, when I was a teenager I was obsessed with bad breath. I didn't like the dry feel in my mouth, tongue. So tried chewing gums, mouth wash. Then read a sport article about hydration, since then I drink 3-4 litre of water every day.
Upon first glance it doesn't seem like they took into account the different types of mouthwash. I can imagine the ones containing dry alcohols would kill the good bacteria, so I opt for alcohol free on the rare occassion that I do use mouthwash.
What is your opinion on Kombucha. 100% agree with nixing the sugar except, as someone with Celiacs, raw kombucha has really helped me a lot. That is my daily consumption of sugar I cannot do without. If you know of a sugar free homemade version I am all ears! (is that even possible?) :)
You should try a xylitol-based chewing gum; preferably the most natural one without other ingredients 🌸 Personally, I eat a lot of acidic foods with each meal -kimchi, for instance!-, and drink coffee a few times a day. As I don't believe in brushing more than twice, I chew xylitol gum or add some of it in powder form to green tea & sip on that between meals. Apparently it neutralizes bad bacteria and is generally quite good for the oral microbiome. Also very convenient for when you're outdoors and can't brush until later...
