- This week, I put together a chatty vlog, because I wanted to try making a hand-knit blanket. Also, I had a try at flower pressing, by using the microwave to press flowers. I have a very sad announcement as well in this weeks video as I had a loss.

Hi Catherine - first comment I have made on your channel - your Pepsi story mirrored ours, we had a 16 year old ish ginger boy who moved house from a neighbours and pretty much lived with us. We lost him on the way to the vets and didn't have to put him to sleep. I have never cried so much for numerous days and we see him all over the place. I have to say if he'd gone off into the neighbourhood and we couldn't have found him that would have been more devastating, at least you and ourselves knew what happened to her/him. You come across as such I lovely person, take care and regards from Lorna in the UK. x
I am so sad to hear about Pepsi 😢-I had to have my Emily put to sleep at 18 years old. It is never easy, just be kind to yourself and know you gave her an amazing life. They say grief is the cost of loving someone and it’s so true. Sassy girls rule!!!

And as you said Pepsi could make her home anywhere so I just know she`ll be snoozing in a flower pot somewhere up there. Oh, Catherine, I have been crying throughout the whole video! My cat Titos died on the 21st of February this year. He was born in 2005 just like Pepsi! He was just 2 months old when I found him. Every word you said touched my heart! I loved the last thing you said that we can't close our heart to love and that another furry friend will find its way to you. That's exactly what happened to me 15 days ago, although I haven't been over my grieving. I found a starving 6 weeks old kitten in the street and rescued it. Spent a week trying to keep it alive. Thankfully he made it through and now I've fallen in love again. Titos will always be missed and will always have a special place in my heart, the same way Pepsi will always be in yours. Hope you find a new furry friend soon and Blondie gets a new companion. Sending you all my love and support. 😻🐾🐾🐈
Bless you for saving that kitten. You are his guardian angel. I had to have my 20 year old girl,Ivy put to sleep late last year and I still teared up listening to Catherine. She was also a sassy girl. Everything was on her terms but she was still full of affection in her own way.

Oh sweet girl 🥺😢😭 never, ever apologize for crying, for loving your adopted child. I was rescued by my little girl who I was blessed to have for 21 years. I recognized Pepsi’s shift in demeanour before you had mentioned it in video as Solstice went through similar changes. She died in my arms at the vets. (They give you the option to leave your pet or stay with them. I held her) I sang her song to her (You are my Sunshine) and proceeded to cry so hard I threw up several times. That was three years ago this coming Labour Day and I will never stop loving and missing her. I know there aren’t words, so I sit crying with you, and raise a pint to Pepsi. I also love the lessons of Pepsi! Seems our little sassy figured out Swipe Left kitty style! On a side, the blanket looks awesome and I love your dress! 🤗🙏🏽

I’m so sorry for the loss of your fur baby. I completely know how you feel. My husband & I had a boy & girl Yorkie since they were babies. My girl, Pixie, took her last breath in my arms in July 2017. She was just a few days shy of her 13th birthday. I cried for days. My boy Yorkie, Jake, passed in my husband’s lap in July 2019. He was 15 1/2 years old. Once again, I was heartbroken. After that I said no more pets. I can’t go through that again. February 16, 2021 (just 2days after our 15th wedding anniversary), I lost my husband to cancer. I am forever heartbroken. I love watching your videos. It helps me as I’m trying to figure out how to live on my own. Thank you for all you do. I loved your arm knitted blanket & your flower pressing! Much love from 🇺🇸

Yup i was in tears!!! I feel your pain and I’m so sorry for your loss! Those little fur balls certainly steal the heart then break it when they leave us 🙁 But even though it’s hard now, yes, there is always room to love another! The day our last kitty died I SWORE I was NEVER doing this again!!! I can’t go through this AGAIN 😩 an hour after her death and coming home to an empty house i packed up the cat carrier and headed off to adopt two more kitties and I never regretted that! I just keep telling myself, there are so many that need a home and I will give them a good home, love and time and I will sob uncontrollably when they’re gone but I will do it again! 💕

They only ever hurt you when they die. I think, especially in lockdown, people have learned the importance of pets. She had a wonderful life and you were a massive part of that. Sending you huuuuuge hugs and love ❤️🌈

So sorry to hear of pepsi's passing Catherine, I had to get my cat put to sleep due to kidney failure a few months back, he was born in 2005 as well and I decided to have him cremated, pets have the ability to cause joy and heartbreak, but the best thing is the memories they leave behind which helps with the loss💔❤️

Oh, Dainty! I’m sending you gentle hugs. We’ll miss seeing Pepsi, but I wish her sunny meadows, now that she’s crossed the rainbow bridge. Our pets hold a special place in our hearts that boys can’t fill. When my little dog Max, passed away in 2012, I was so devastated. A couple of months later, I adopted my furry boy, Captain Mal. Cats always find you. I remember going to the rescue shelter and one of the cats sat on my lap as if to say "yep, you'll do. Take me home!" So I did 😄 another cat just turned up in our street and adopted our household. It's so sad when they die but we try to make them happy while they're with us +
Your framed flowers were beautiful. Less is more in that, I believe. I’m sorry for the loss of a dear friend that Pepsi had become, and she has probably already decided to spend most of her time at your mansion in Heaven when it’s built. Until then, I don’t imagine she will have any trouble making new friends there.😉 BTW, did you know that your beloved pets are able to speak when they reach Heaven? It’s true, and for those who would tell you different, it CAN be proven from scriptures in the Bible. Also true! When she sees you again I’m sure she will tell you how much she loved and appreciated your friendship and kindness, and letting her simply be who she was.
Anyway, The blanket turned out lovely, and I enjoyed seeing it made because I’ve seen that “yarn” in the craft store and always wondered how hard it would be to work with to make a blanket.

I'm so sorry Catherine, Pepsi was a very, very lucky girl 💗 It helps that she got to enjoy the garden and pots and get plenty of sun, warmth and bug & flower smells. It's the small things that count. Love to Blondie 💖
I'm pretty sure the blanket is made of wool roving, which is used for felt and needle felting. Sometime people think wool shrinks from heat, but it's just as much any agitation (even just moving it in water with your hands) and any bit of detergent speeds that process up too, HTH If you ever feel like trying a small knitting/felting project, look up "Mouse in the House" on ravelry - it's a great pattern for felted cat toys!

Oh sweet Catherine, I’m so sorry for sweet Pepsi’s passing. 😥. I have no doubt she’s in heaven and having a wonderful time scoping out all the best flower pots to rest in! 🪴. I’ve experienced a lot of loss in my recent years and have learned that the depth you love is the depth you grieve. Animals have no expectations of us, they just love us anyway. I think you should plant something black in your garden to remind you of sweet little Pepsi, like black hollyhocks or petunias. They are a nice contrast to pink. And sharing a pint in honor of her life and her sassy personality is completely appropriate! My Irish Nana would agree! 🍻to Pepsi! Much love ❤️! Sending hugs and prayers! Lots of love to you, Catherine! My husband and I have two fur babies, Isabella & Rambo (twin sister and brother ;)) Isabella was kneading on my lap and purring watching you do your flower arrangement & pawing at the screen! It was so cute. We also lost a kitty recently; we named her Bobo and she came to us and decided we were her people. She loved to hang out with us on our front porch. We fed her of course...but one day this past month, she was not coming for dinner anymore. We think she was very old (had gray hairs) and she found somewhere to pass away (she basically lived in the gutter before she started sleeping on our steps). So, I feel the pain too!! It was so sad for me for several days coming home from work not seeing her there on the steps anymore or running up to greet me. She was so cuddly and sweet. Never knew an outdoor cat that was such a snuggler like her, she will be remembered fondly forever! She was a "Pepsi" color as well ❤

There are many pet cemeteries here in the US. They look just like human cemeteries just cuter with all the bits and bobs their owners leave on their graves when they visit. Its so sweet to walk through them and see all sweet little names and pictures on the head stones! ❤️❤️🥰 another kitten will find it’s way to you. I promise. I got a lovely yellow rose bouquet for my birthday in June. ( favorite color) after a week I took it out of the water and tied it with a bow and hung it upside down! It dried perfectly! I sprayed it with my favorite perfume this morning and hung it back up. A few petals fell off. A pressed them out and put them between pages of some heavy old books! I’ll check back in a week. They already feel like fabric. Amazing.
Awwww Catherine. Love and hugs to you my friend. Losing a 4 legged family member is hard. I remember all the visits she made to your home before she became yours. You were her person. I am sure she is reigning supreme in heaven with all the other cats.

The flower press was really cool. We used to dry/press flowers in books. It took forever. Lol.

🇨🇦❤️I’m also a cantankerous, (but loving), old girl like Pepsi and I didn’t think I’d cry, but each time your voice broke, the tears started for me.
It’s damnably difficult to say goodbye forever to these exquisitely beautiful creatures.
I know that Blondie will help you through this and give you as much love and attention as it’s possible for a cat to give.
Pepsi will be missed and always remembered through your videos, so to me, it’s a bit like immortality for her.
Also, I loved the crafts in this video so much that I’m considering trying them myself. Your illustration of how to make the blanket is actually much better than any others that I’ve seen because I believe that I’ll be able to follow along. Pets are indeed a different kind of love. My childhood cats passed away going on 15 years ago, and I still can't bring myself to get another one. I get my pet fix by pet sitting for friends and family, where I can get my cuddles and snuggles, then I'm able to leave them back into their owner's care. And I still would swear that I see them darting around the house, out of the corner of my eye. 😊

Oh Catherine.. my darling.... my heart is breaking for you. I am so very sorry for the loss of your precious Pepsi. I know how painful it is to lose a pet. I foster cats for a local charity and have done it full time for the past 3 years. As a rule I take the cats that are old and sick, that nobody wants, and I nurse them and love them until their time to pass comes. I am always in bits when I lose a furbaby. At the moment I have my first ever Mum and three weeks ago she gave birth to 3 gorgeous kittens.. so this time I was kitty midwife. I am sending you all my love... from Devon. xxxxxxx

Awww bless you Catherine my heart is breaking for you our wee fur babies are just one of the family. I truly no how you feel I lost my wee 19yr old collie cross dog Zara 2 weeks ago and my wee 8 yr old shihtzu dog Charlie in January. I’m the same as you when I get up in the morning I still look for them 😢. I have 2 other wee dogs too and I’m so glad I have them but I still miss my 2 other wee angels. We have truly been blessed to have had our wee pets in our lives Catherine they are running about in the fluffy gardens of heaven . I'm so sorry to hear about Pepsi, we had to have our boy Mac put down on Friday. It was similar in that he had been losing weight but when they scanned him they found fluid round his lungs and heart and the kindest thing was to say goodbye to him. He was such a loving cat and is missed by us all. I know how you're feeling but we just have to think they're in a better place and running free :) Take care and cry when you have to, we certainly are. Sending big hugs xx
So so sorry to hear of Pepsi's passing hun. She was surrounded with love and had the best kitty momma. You're so right when you say that we always tell ourselves we'll never get another pet when one passes, but we end up doing so anyway. I think some people have the souls to give so much love to our furbabies that we are drawn to each other over and over. Its the best type of symbiotic relationship, animals give so much and ask for very little in return and devoted pet owners like yourself make sure they are safe and loved.
I love the thought you gave the previous owners, you're such a kind soul. When my cat, Magick, 'adopted' a neighbour (to this day I can't figure out why she left) I wish they had done what you did for yours when Magick passed. Words can't comfort you I know hun, but Pepsi was adored and loved and had a wonderful time on this Earth. Take care of yourself, much love. xx

Pets are a gift. We found a abandoned raccoon about 8weeks old and we were heart broken. Luckily there is a Raccoon sanctuary in Saskatchewan Canada and they took her right away. It was so cute she was eating eggs and hanging out with other Raccoons her age and she looked so happy. I am so grateful for the people running these sanctuaries they are giving and lovely people. I hope your heart heals quickly.

So so sorry. I have lost my own fur aby and my mom a daughter lost one apiece. They are family and we loved them just like our chrildren.she will be in your heart forever

So sorry to hear about Pepsi. I'm glad she had an easy passing in your lap. It would have been 10 times worst to have the Vet do it. I have a pet cemetery in my bedroom. 4 little boxes of ashes. I cried buckets for each one. I even have ashes of a solid black, boy cat who looked just like Pepsi. What is it about cats and clean laundry? My girl cat loves when there's laundry to lay on too. You did a great job on the blanket. I've made several of those for family with smaller width yarn, but still chunky. I know Blondie will love it. Take care.

It's only natural to shed tears when a loved pet passes. They bring us laughter, comfort, and the occasional swipe. The memories will be sweeter as the tears come less often with time.

Never apologize for having a loving heart for your fur babies. I cried my eyes out when I had to put my beautiful girl (Border Collie) to sleep....she now resides with other cremated family members of our vets patrons.....a beautiful rainbow bridge that her sister will one day be on too! ~ Blessings
