- What a year it has been. 2020 has been full of life lessons, and in this week's video, I am going to have some DMC's ( deep meaningful conversation's) with you guys and share what I have learned. From lesson's in love, facing job loss and finding the lessons in challenging times. I hope you get some value from this week's chatty video.

I can relate.. when my lovely dad passed away, I went from auto pilot, constantantly on the go, every thought, everything was about my dad, to feeling lost, with no sense if purpose. He had become my focus for 7 years of his shitty illness. I didn't realise how much my life revolved around dad and I mean that in a good way. I just kinda started to unravel but by God did those awful feelings, responsibility, resilience, kindness set me up for what was to come in 2020. I'm 3 years into trying to process that grief and having no choice but to face it. I think covid is the unfortunate wake up call we as a society, a human race needed. It's just such a pity and heart breaking that so much suffering and loss if life came from it. I just hope that ppl remember whatever lessons they learned throughout and not go bk to old habits..

The greatest things that happen to us seem to come at a terrible cost but we do the most growing when we have to push upward. It’s only afterwards we experience the positive results. I’m so sorry for your loss, Tee. Give yourself the time to grieve and acknowledge your painful loss, but instead of feeling just the terrible loss remember the lovely things about your dad, too. You will have those good things forever. Maybe even have a quiet chat with him as you sit drinking a cup of tea and tell him everything you remember. It always helps me feel better.

In any catastrophe, it is better to be wise (like you) and look at what we are learning and have learned. It is important to question what these lessons are, within ourselves and out, then wonder what to do about it. For instance the importance of family and friends; our own hopes and dreams and what is best for each of us. Perhaps sow a new path. Thanks for this intimate look at what you have learned and reevaluated. I am in my golden years and I am still learning. It is amazing how life can knock us down and give us hints on how to get back up. With an imagination and positive attitude we can reinvent ourselves. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Hi Catherine, I think 2020 has made me slow down and take a breath occasionally. I have always said that I could live without most things but not my family, I was right. I miss my girls and the Grandchildren like crazy. I have been working from home and I have really enjoyed my own company. I am able to cook from scratch and craft to my hearts content as I do not have the 2 hour daily commute. Christmas is smaller and more scaled back. Less stressful. My girls all had various reasons for money shortage and so we have had a secret santa this year for adults, less cost and has been fun finding that one perfect gift. Have a lovely Christmas break Catherine and see you hopefully in the New Year xx
I only came across your channel yesterday and I was addicted straightaway, you've kept me up again as it's now 4.30 am now.
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE INSPIRATION you are to the younger generation. I saved this particular video so I can watch again with my oldest daughter when we have our next tv night☺️ she gave birth to my first grandchild 2 days ago so I'm not sure when we will watch it again but i will definitely be buying the books you recommended.

After suffering from losing everything to a fire. I have re-evaluated my life and where I want to be. The fire was somewhat of a blessing (I know hard thing to say - but I can say it now as I have somewhat registered what happened) as it made me rethink things. If it didnt happen I would have stayed in my comfort zone. Now I am looking to relocate and start fresh in a new area. I am going to work on pursing my dreams further than they currently are (opening a business of massage and reiki therapy). As well as working more on my journal making and paintings. I want to do things that make me feel happy within and not what society believes we should do (9-5 job). Thank you for your video and sharing your thoughts. Have a wonderful holiday.

I’ve learned that being in a relationship isn’t as important as my family and my grandkids. If I had a choice I would want my sons and my grandkids by my bedside if I get sick! I used to wait for phone calls from a boyfriend and now I realize what a waste of time when my grandkids call me all day long to tell me they miss me and love me! 👼🏻❤️🙏🏼

I learned that I prefer to be on my own......surprised the hell out me! Turns out that most of my unhappy and difficult moments were the direct result of other people. 6 weeks of lock down taught me that. So in the new year I'm selling up and moving to an isolated island and I can't wait.
A similar thing happened to me. I already knew that I was happy in my own company but still went to work, met up with friends, etc and once we went into lockdown I realised that I actually actively PREFER my own company! So much so that I left my job, sold up, moved house and now my time is my own. I couldn’t be happier. I hope you made it to your isolated island? Sending a virtual hug from one introvert to another 👍🏻

Esra S B I first used Joanna Martinez How to crochet the easiest hat ever. Brilliant step by step video and pattern. I made a item as I learnt so it was very rewarding. Then I made a hat starting with the Magic ring. Next I made 3 different Santa stockings for the nephews. I am now making a pull through scarf/wrap. I have wool to make the Möbius wrap after that from Naztazia channel.

I love EVERYTHING you said! You nailed it about opinions and the internet (especially this year)! 2020 was a terrible year for my oldest son who tried to take his life in August. Much of which because he was working from home, dealing with his wife (who is bipolar) and her addictions. But, out of it came him allowing me to take care of my grandson and helping all the time. My Grandson is 16 months old now and he is such a blessing. That is what blessed me in 2020 as a stroke survivor. Love your videos and you are just a DOLL. I bought my grandparents old house. I've been renovating for the past 6 months. I've lived in pure chaos. We are finally on the last room. I'm ready for a long winters nap. I learned I hate painting ceilings.. 2021 will be amazing because 2020 was hell.

I do believe there is such thing as right and wrong actions and opinions. It depends on who you are accountable to. I love this video. My husband and I both had covid. I needed reast badly. My husband was in hospital and he had brain fog and exaustion after comming home. I thinkwe all need to listen to our bodies. Don't push it to hard and take time to enjoying what we are doing at the time. Stay safe and merry christmas

I'm feeling the opposite about the post covid life. we have had so many cases here in America, our low case numbers are like your high case days over there, so the only thing safe is pretty much not doing anything this year. I can't wait til I get to do something again, it just has been a wasted year of my life, I feel like a couch potato. I'm glad you got a break though so you didn't get burnt out. your vacation videos I have to say I adore them, they are so much fun and usually off the beaten path so to speak. I can't wait til you get to take some of those again. thanks for another great year!! I hope you have an incredible Christmas and a happy new year.
This Lisa disagrees. I have worked throughout the pandemic. I have no fear at all. Media and medical professionals are overly cautious. Get out and enjoy life. No fear. Just be careful. And yes I am in the US.

My learning this year is to trust myself, stop being so hard on myself and to enjoy time at home. My life changed hugely at the end of 2020 but for the better. It was years in the making. I have oh shit moments too but i know ill come up with a plan to get through it. Merry christmas and take the leap of faith. You got this
