- Happy new year everyone! For my first video of 2022, I wanted to share how I put my house back together after the Christmas holidays. Join me as I clean, organise and tidy away my Christmas decor and give my home a reset. Also, I wanted to add a touch of Spring and brighten my kitchen with some fresh spring bulbs.

We finally got a new window vac after I dropped and broke the other 6 times. Today I've cleaned all the windows inside and hoovered everywhere... then I slept all afternoon because I've got the rones. (Good excuse for a nap) Tidied the garden the other day. I'm thinking about putting all the curtain's through the wash tomorrow. 2 cat's and 2 dogs everywhere gets a bit hairy 🤣

Curious.... what are those black things in the ash bucket in front of your fireplace? Just got done putting away Christmas..did a big clean, now on the de-clutter of our home and decorate inside and out for St. Valentine's Day...I use the Christmas green outside add hearts...enjoying your channel from SE Michigan USA
Happy New Year! I have not picked a word for inspiration, good idea though. January is my least favorite month, wind down from Holidays and hunker down because it's very chilly (cold) for Florida. Love how Blondie tries to help you tidy up, good kitty!

My word last year was water because so many things had me angry (I live in the States) that I needed something to hold in my mind against that fire. This year is grass. I've been so stagnant, I've put on 20lbs, I have been so sad- I'm ready for green growth and hope. Now, whenever I feel down or stuck I hold my impressions of grass in my head.
The Marvelettes-Please Mr. Postman popped in my head lol!! So it’s quite possible I’ve now pre ordered two books because the memory just isn’t what it use to be 😁. This year is going to be great! Hugs to Blondie and yea cup clink to you ❤️

Oh.. I have the same problem.. Put on so much weight over covid the last few years, because I just sit at my desk/on the computer all day. I am also trying to do my steps 5 from 7 days/week 🤗... This week was my first week.. Doing well so far!

There’s something a little sad about taking down the Christmas decorations. At least it’s not nearly as much fun as putting them up. Someone else recently asked me for my word for the year and I think it’s growth. I’m going to be retiring from teaching at the end of the summer and I’m really looking forward to a new chapter in my life that will allow for more creativity and less stress. Congratulations on the book! It looks like it will be amazing!

Catherine, re: signed copies from other sellers / for readers overseas. One thing you could do (and I've done for my latest book) is have a stack of bookplates - basically just large stickers - at home that you can sign and then post to people who want them. They can then stick them inside the book cover. I'm based in NZ and I've sent bookplates to Ireland, UK and US so far. I have a Google form set up to collect requests, and people just pay for postage. Hope that helps. Enjoy every moment of the next few months - there's no feeling on the planet like seeing your book on shelves / in people's hands!

I've been putting Christmas decor away a little bit at a time since Christmas day. Couldn't decide if I wanted to leave some of the decor out until the end of January. Only thing left is the tree. Spending lots of time reorganizing and decluttering my closets.

My word for the year is Declutter. I'm sentimental. I have things that I have saved for more than 20 years. Things from my childhood, my son's childhood, some of my mom's things after she passed. I have decided that if I haven't seen something for years, it's not enough knowing that it exists in a closet. It's hard letting some things go, but it's been fun going through old memories and keeping a few of the best.

My word is “grateful”. With everything that has gone on the last couple of years I have realized how much I have to be grateful for. I have also realized the more grateful I am and the more I focus on the good in my life the more the bad or negative things don’t seem so bad. We all have so much to be grateful for sometimes we have to look a little harder but they are there. It can be just the simplest things like a sunny day or a smile that make a huge difference. Living with gratitude has really changed my life for the better!

Regarding the decorations, sadly I am not like most people, I always het dat when it is time to put them away again. I miss the lights, I miss the ornaments, I wish the cosiness, nothing can replace all those things. Ah well, only 10 months to go😂😂😂
