Being "viceroy of kush" myself, I do admit it does come with certain benefits, some medicinal benefits even.
lol
i really hope this one day gets an expansion to include mesopotamia or even greece or the indus valley one day. would love to see a more varied map grow from launch
We need this!
Fat chance, we already know little of the Bronze Age Middle East, we know nothing of the Indus Valley Civilization
Not a jab at CA but no doubt Pharaoh will get a bunch of DLC support. I just hope they don't do a Three Kingdoms and make the DLC/expansions whole new eras with completely unconnected factions/leaders, or at least leave it for last. Expand the base era first.
Assuming it doesn't get review-bombed like Britannia, there _should_ be room for the Assyrians, Babylonians and Mitanni to show up.
@@bluemilkalienmonster522 keep coping
I love that when melee happens, individual soldiers are fighting each other in animation. Unlike 3K Total War where the soldiers were just attacking air with their animations.
looks like an mobile game and not new?
True that reminds me of shogun total war

Man can't wait to be charged $4,99 for blood again!
I never played Troy, never interested me, but I feel like I'm the only person genuinely excited for this game.
I loved Troy and I’m excited to this game too.

This total conversion mod for Total War Troy looks great.
Nehekha...I mean Egypt rises from the sands!
Oh, and Seth did nothing wrong.
Edit: I like that there are regional units. A return to older TW games. Can we also get those for Warhammer?
As a Kemetist Pagan worshipper of Seth, I approve!
been wanting regional units for the different provinces of the Empire for a long time now, instead we got some RoR thing if the elector count seat is filled
@@BringDHouseDown Yeah. I'd go with another CoC-style DLC with all state troops having unique reskins depending on the province and with unique traits and stats to boot like they are in lore. Not to mention different stats (like Nordlanders being a tad buffer than the usual Empire citizens due to them being half-Norscans).

OMG i just saw Greece and southern Italy! My wet dreams of a total war set during the collapse of the bronze age are fully fulfilled (well maybe 80 or 90 % until now). I will definitely buy and enjoy it.
maaaaybe they'll expand the map after release
yeah you can see both Greece and southern Italy, but no mapped provinces, kind of reflects what they did with mortal/immortal empires when they expanded the map. I reckon they'll expand it as part of the expansion pack later down the line. Still need Mesopotamia as well though...
not gonna happen tho
@@Nellius1 yes, the game is still in pre alpha. It could be also that they will finish the map before October and then release dlc with playable Mycenaean cultures.
Where did you see them in the video?
Nice, tomb kings getting a glow up
The regional unit mechanic is *really* interesting! I wonder if you'll have to be in that region to train them, or if owning the territory will let you train them anywhere?
I imagine something like the global recruitment of Total War Warhammer, you can recruit them when you're away, but it costs more and/or takes more time.
TW : Three kingdoms has had this mechanic for years with mods. CA finally decided to build a fully integrated version for this game.
Hasn't this been around since Rome Total War?
@@l0jecl1 For very specific units like elephants, Rome 1 would only allow their training in provinces where they were present, yes. And Rome 2 had that with Roman auxiliary units.
But we're talking core units now. Your entire army relies on what provinces you control and their personal military capabilities.
maybe you get access to them when you own the region in the global recruitment pool but if you lose it they are gone . i think 3 kingdoms have this mechanic especially with the nomads and southern tribes
3:32 lol. Units charging at each other just abruptly stop in place and put their weapons down, so that they can reset and begin their matched animations. I don't understand why people want matched combat. It looks awesome if you focus on 2 guys fighting, but if you look at the whole group it looks impossibly stupid and glitchy/video gamey.
Shogun 2 had some really cool matched animation charge kills for both infantry and cavalry. So it's not impossible.
This is one of the better charges in matched combat. I remember in Rome 2 how a charge resulted in hugging and kissing. Literally running into a group and pushing themselve into the other ones.
In your exmaple we can see how some troops are swinging their blades, some are still charging with their shield forward. It's much better than Rome.
But the footage is too short and the angle doesn't show much, so I could be completely wrong and it could be worse than Rome 2
When matched combat is here, people complain about it being here, when it's gone people complain about it being gone
I agree with you though
@@ragoxdr6384 they aren't the same people. Yes of course CA have multiple crowds to please. As someone who thinks matched combat is entirely video gamey and silly, I just can't comprehend people liking it when we see the obvious downsides left and right
@@HelixWek what I mean is that the community consensus on matched combat is always that whatever they did about it in the last game was bad
Looks like Sims with swords
The sceneries looks gorgeous. Excellent job CA. Thank you. Looking forward for the game
Loving the look of the game, and liking the differences shown between the four faction leaders. However, I would emphasize as feedback:
- While having unique units for each faction which is great, it would be great to have faction banners like you had in Shogun 2.
- Units marching with their shields seems a bit off. I'd have it where Roman Legions marching moving their swords but hold their shields in place.
- Chariots could have more animations for melee combat? I'd see a few here and there
- Liking the footprints in the sand.
- Once you conquer all of Egypt, can you recruit all units, and can you recruit all units I imagine in custom battle?
I'd also want to see where is MESOPOTAMIA!
Loving the game!
That’s actually good feedback that can help improve the game unlike many others who simply hate everything bout the game begging for medevial 3 I agree with many of yer points too
Brilliant ! LOVE the regional peoples / units! As Pharoah I want to be able to emulate history.. to conquer the Sasu, Lybu, Israel, Moab, Edom, Aram, etc. But I hope these are minor factions not just Egyptian provinces with unique units. I note the Canaanites are fielding heavy Mitanni units .. not sure why .. and something really needs to be done about those chariot models.
I thought that historically it was believed that the Canaanites and Mitannis fought together on at least one occasion? So it's not impossible to imagine them having access to certain units in game. Though not totally sure I'm very tired haha
@@zimri-lim8254 I dont get CA, modern media, Hollywood, etc. When it is so benefiticial and easy to stick with historical accuracy, original source material, etc .. they all want to take short cuts and reinvent the world in their own image.
Turns out we can't fully emulate the feats of Pharoah Merneptah, Seti or Rameses III because there wont be any Sasu, Israel, Moab or Aram to conquer. :(
The Canaanites share a border with Hatti and often wore heavier armor than Egyptians.
I swear every total war game since Atilla feels exactly the same
I'm most excited for the Hittites in this game, but the Egyptians do look awesome, especially Seti.
JUMPSCARE
I like how we went from Total War games with campaign maps that were the entire European continent (Medieval, Medieval II) to Europe, North America and India (Empire). And now to just single, broken down countries (Three Kingdoms and Pharaoh). The games seem to be getting a lot smaller (in terms of setting and locations).
Good? I prefer that
@@JF-xm6tu you might prefer that but not everyone does. It's an opinion and I feel they are getting much, much smaller.
Eh I guess but considering the Bronze Age wasn’t as big as like ynow the entirety of Europe im pl with it as long as it’s fun
China is just as big as Europe lol
@@baconose1and yet they only show the levant anatolia and Egypt… when the Bronze Age went as west as Carthage and as east as Indus Valley
We've been waiting for you to make Medieval 3 and Empire 2 games for years.

Honestly after another game based on Ancient Age I’m doubting we will see ever again a title set in gunpowder era….
@@umbertoferraris5787 :(
I'm really happy that the factions are different from each other and that we have different playstyles. as well as different buildings like in 3k and in troy. it will mean that there will be no replayability problems. for god's sake change this shabby ui please, and the unit cards too
Theyre barely different huh?
"for god's sake change this shabby ui please, and the unit cards too". I agree. It looks like mobile games, and I really dislike this. I don't know what the hell was wrong with Rome 2 or Attila's UI that they changed it into this!
@@V3N634NC3Rome 2's were borderline illegible
Yea these "5% faster" traits make massive difference. Get out of here bought shill because I refuse to believe actual Total War players are this dumb.
I guess nobody in TW will care about but as a honest advice, be careful with leaders. Historical community do not want superheroes like in Troy, Warhammer or 3K.
Yeah same but the leader are supposed to be like before, just men with bodyguards. If u watched the livestream, the generals can be killed by only one other unit or so. They’re killable and not super crazy op. Just like the old generals 😊
They do have bodyguards, I do wish though they was able to die and be replaced with an heir. Also have a family tree as well.
I loved Lu Bu destroying entire armies by himself.
While marching, those arms shouldn't move that much. They move as if the shields were made of foam.

They've been doing this in the community, comments & forums since empire divided
We are playing here mostly a Civil War with similar units, please Creative Assembly for the sake of immersion can we have some Flags, Banners, or similar things on the battlefield that clearly represent the own faction? I thought in Three Kingdoms that was really great.
ong i like the idea with similar units as each regions has different units. but i miss seeing the wind blow the banners in shogun 2
no because it wouldn't be historically accurate

Holy hit, the sea people bronze collapse?! Okay I am totally interested.
such a shame Mesopotamia isn't included, but still the game looks promising
At 4:06 you can very briefly see that Mesopotamia is on the map but just inaccessible. I bet they‘ll flesh that area out in a later DLC
@@manospondylus I'll hope so, would be a shame if assyria can't join the party.
@@centuriosupernumerarius1625 it would be pretty confusing considering how important Assyria is to that region.
For me, this is a massive letdown. They could've given us the whole world of the Bronze Age, including Babylon, Assyria and Mycenae. But no.... we still can not and will not get a classical historical title without all the hero nonsense and mechanics
Because they want to keep going with “small” historical games… The last very big title was Attila in 2015, 8 years ago…
Looks good, would like to see more realistic battles in the future, more armor+shield and flanking+terrain makes difference rather than pure stats/numbers
And slower pace. 9:23 animation is to fast to be realistic.
@@scotvince7847 completely agree with you, best pace for me would be something like m2 tw mod Europa barbarorum.. super fast animation and identical movement of each individual in the unit makes it look way more artificial than it should
Amenmesse looks to be my favorite so far.. safe starting position with access to slaves, gold, and Kush bowman.
aight so this means that its hittite time finally
Tomb kings expansion looks exciting
I'm really interested in Tausret.
Making locally recruited troops unique with bonuses for their environment is really neat, I can't wait to see the other factions!
*The future DLC factions
WTF? 91.46€ for the digital dynasty edition? Are u out of ur mind? This is ridiculous.
Im sorry but animations are too cartoonish to me. Nobody walks with shields like that
This is so excited! I am particularly interested by the regional troops dynamic, which is a nice way to add diversity to a historical total war game that involves many faction from the same culture. It makes a lot of sense, and the leaders' troops add also that faction-unique flavor.
If the UI for battles is fixed, this could be a truly impressive and immersive game
Still waiting for empire 2
I’ll do you a deal- If you confirm medieval 3 is in development, I’ll buy this one while I wait.
Poor sod doesn't realize that Medieval 3 will be more similar to this, than Medieval 2...

It won’t due to Araby having well let’s just say not the most politically correct things. I wanted araby but they won’t make it as GW told CA to not touch araby as they are ashamed of how raycist and insensitive they made it
I still cannot comprehend how in the world the Egyptians somehow rivaled the Hittites when they go into battle pretty much wearing nothing but a BATH TOWEL while the the Hittites are wearing impressive armor....
(yes, I know the elite units are shown wearing armor in this trailer, but I'm not sure if that's historically accurate or not. Their soldiers were often shown wearing nothing but loincloths on their wall carvings)
Because they actually wore armor, given the fact that only a dumbass would go to war without one

Honestly, I can't stand the total fandom anymore. You're like little children who are starving but act like every little bit of content Creative Assembly throws your way is a great revelation. You are literally standing in front of a car without wheels and saying, 'Oh, I hope they add wheels someday.' This map isn't big at all; it lacks diversity and flavor. For them to cut such monumentally important parts of the world just to sell them back to you later is a spit in the face of every single fan. And you people are going around, claiming this is the greatest thing ever, as if you actually enjoy paying for things that should already be in the game. It's just embarrassing. It also seems more like an strategic RPG, than the traditional Total War games like Rome 1, Empire, Shogun 2 and Medieval 2.
It look's like it's more about one man than an entire civilisation.

I loved Troy. I think it’s one of the most polished and fun experiences in the series. It had a weird release so it definitely didn’t get the love it deserved. But I think Pharaoh is going to be great even if it’s not quite what I want d

@@nitomurray6137 And they never fixed anything for most of their games except WARHAMMER. They always expect the community to do all the sht works for them.
