to me it is....but we are probably in the minority as most people don't know or don't care. As long as they have a bud light or the coors light silver bullet in hand
Hi Melvin, you always do a great job of filming. I knew Dave Hlubek fairly well. Knew Jimmy Farrar also but mainly when he sang for the Southern Rock Allstars. Met Duane Roland. All three have since passed. Don't know anyone of this version of Hatchet. Also, knew Jakson Spires from Blackfoot. He was a kind & gentle soul. You know, now I'm wondering if anyone is still alive in the original Molly Hatchet. Will have to check. Thanks, for sharing. Just checked & sadly no one is still with us. Also, they all died in their 50's & 60's. That's way to young.
Well Tony Mikkus is from Jacksonville Florida and he's from Northside/oceanway. He was in a band called Big Engine with who But Banner Thomas as bass player that they really did well. He carried on the metal southern rock sound of Jacksonville Florida the birthplace of Southern Rock period. So give the Kid some room as Ronnie Van Zant said. He can shred a Gibson flying V as well.
Tony Mikus and Hans Ollerich are both great guys. Big Engine has rocked the Jax area for well over two decades now. Banner Thomas and Tony Mikus started the band and they are still rockin'...... RIP Banner.
Just yesterday we did an evening listening to southern rock here in the north of Germany. I still like the Molly- SPV-releases very much and saw them live a couple of times. But this does not do justice to the name Molly Hatchet anymore, i am sorry.
That's pretty cool it's so dedicated to the original Molly hatchet band. I'm so glad they are pushing their original music that's cool... A brother me of mine just told me about Molly hatchet most of the members are all dead I didn't know ....and playing guitar since 8 years old and I never heard anything about it. I would like to say sad but true as I find out most recently. I love my answer they were cool as hell 💓
With Zero original members can they really still be called Molly Hatchet??? The same goes for Foreigner once Mick Jones retires and maybe even Styx once James Young retires. It's great to hear the music continuing but to continue as though you were the original band is a little alarming and misleading.
@@philoreilly6019 Maybe the current star of the band and keeping the band going these days. He's only 68 so I'm sure he's got a few more years in him. Once JY goes Will Evankovich will take over those duties I'm sure.
Absolutely. The only thing is I think Molly Hatchet family and band members before they died gave their blessing for this band to go on. As far as Foreigner yes it's a tribute band now and people should not be paying the high prices. The new generation and some older don't even know the band members of rock bands and think they're the real deal. The one that is most upsetting to me is The Guess Who because they have stolen the name and they don't have Burton Cummings who is one of the best lead singers in all of rock music. He and Randy Bachman have not sanctioned that Guess Who band.
I don't understand how a band can call themselves a bands name after all the original members are dead. This is just a tribute band. They don't sound any better than a bar band. I have seen better in the bars in Las Vegas casinos. Vocals are terrible if you ask me. If Danny Joe Brown heard this he would roll over in his grave.
I saw them in 1990 in Huttenheim Germany( Danny Joe Brown on vocals) an this was awesome. I saw them again 2019 in Bensheim Germany. They are only the shadows of themselves. It is not possible to play Molly Hatchet with only one Guitar in the Band. Maybe Bobby Ingram doesn't want any other gods next to him. Don't no what's the reason for only one Guitar in the Band. I am a big Molly Hatchet fan but current they sound like a Molly hatchet coverband. very sad.
Loved them in 1978 and today. It's cool these fellas are keeping the sound going. Would be nice with the 3 guitar sound though so he could turn them boys loose on us 😄 Or as Ronny would say bring all my mules out here n kick em one time. You don't have to be from Florida to love Southern Rock!
I've only recently started listening to MH. I understand all the originals have passed, but I'm curious. Did any of the guys here play in the band with any of the original guys?
Well sort of yeah but they're really not a coffee band because they don't do other people's stuff they strictly do Molly hatchet space them I'm Molly hatchet only copy van and they're touring all over United States I don't know a copy bandit does that hell I don't know only been playing guitar over 60 years
Ok do they have a different lead singer than this on that is singing now , because I saw a video the other day and it was newer and this is it the same lead singer the o e I saw was much younger
The current lead singer is Parker Lee-young guy,, who joined the band in 20233. I thought that Jimmy Elkins was a solid singer and am disappointed he is gone.
The original members have all went to their reward, and these posers continue to ride on their success;their not even a good cover band, time to let Molly hatchet rest in peace
Must want to save money not hiring the right amount of guitar players? ha ha Did a show with them in 2015 thought it was weird not to at least have 2 guitars? Looks like that didn't change.
Just the sight of this irritates me. Bobby ingram is a talented musician but he had nothing to do with any of these original songs. Owning the name means nothing to me…
I'm from Jacksonville .Saw the real Hatchet at Dino's on the Northside many nights for $5 cover charge before the record deal. Dave would come over to my grandmother's house to see my cousin. They had a thing going on. Those were the good ole day's. I'm over 60 now and they are all dead. Not trying to be ugly but truth is the truth. The Bobby Hatchet Band is a fraud. So he owns the rights to the name , big deal still cover band. One guitar , keyboards . Sounds like shit Bro ! Give it up man , that shit is a joke an embarrassment to the Original Members.Anyone who thinks that sounds like the original Molly Hatchet or even comes close is on another planet to be kind. The fact he would even do it with one guitar shows any real fan how much Boggy cares. Just give me the Money .Bobby Hatchet you SUCK !!!!
This is only a cover band.all original members of Molly hatchet have sadly passed away.original lineup was on fire when they played.
Isn't it a crime to play this song live with only 1 guitarist ? :D
to me it is....but we are probably in the minority as most people don't know or don't care. As long as they have a bud light or the coors light silver bullet in hand
YES!! after the show the cops beat the sh!t of them and took them to jail. They had to use all the money made at the concert for bail.
Yes
It was a crime to have to watch them play it.
🤣

Love it! I first listened to MH when i was in the service in 1978. Awesome! Never looked back and have all the albums! Keep it going guys!
The f*ck is wrong with the drummer’s hair ahahaha love that 😂❤️
LOL thats a cover band, not Molly Hatchet by a long shot.
Kind of hard to be anything other than that with everyone dead.
Sounds like Bret Michaels front a Hatchet tribute band. 🤔
True, I'm saddened to see the band in such a state. Excuse me
What the hell
Just yesterday we did an evening listening to southern rock here in the north of Germany. I still like the Molly- SPV-releases

Awesome information.... Awesome always makes a difference

they never had a keyboard where are the other 2 lead guitar players
The drummer and bass player are awesome! Everyone else is doing their job. Not bad for a cover band.
Guitar player looks like Gary Richrath just before he passed
Not a good sign.

Paul Stanley & Gene Simmons said they are going to pick their replacements so Kiss can continue after they can't. It's a bizarre world.
I think Tommy Shaw is the star of Styx. When, HE’S done Styx is over.

Yess i totally agree!!"
God bless Bobby and the rest of the guys for trying to keep the band going
Bobby is a piece of garbage, who has destroyed this once great band.
Big engine!
Yep!

Fabio on drums
😂
Doing a finesse commercial 😂
What happened to Jimmy Elkins?.... i thought he sounded closer to DJB than anyone else ever has to date. He was a perfect fit.
That's the guy from big engine singing
Good question great player
No original members bobby Ingram was in danny joe brown and the danny joe brown band, which is a good album,
Bobby's to cheap to bring other guitarist. Plus the show has always been about him.

Yup they need the 3 guitar attack👍🏻
He’s going flat…. Really bad
Molly 😎💪✨👍👏🎸🔥
Is that lead singer from Big Engine? I only saw them play a couple of times.
Yes.
Who is this guy?
This Band is good But is not Molly Hatchet they need 3 guitars players with southern rock roots.🎸
I get that. Take what you can get these days.
I agree but Bobby Ingram wants all the money for himself
@@jimmansi9046 I am sure they're not making much money for these shows. Certainly, not enough for three guitarists.
I've only recently started listening to MH. I understand all the originals have passed, but I'm curious. Did any of the guys here play in the band with any of the original guys?
For sure, Bobby Ingram has been in the band since '87.
@@MelvinZoopersBobby came with Danny Joe Brown Band whe DJB came back to hatch
Keyboard player John Galvin is also there from 84, with some pauses in and there
Bobby Ingram and John Galvin played with the band when Danny Joe Brown was still with them. As for the others, no
Great band but like so many other bands out there, they're using the original name of the band but are basically a cover band
Like the Marshall Tucker Band ..they're all dead. But the name and the music is still going..just a cover band ..better than nothing I guess..
Well sort of yeah but they're really not a coffee band because they don't do other people's stuff they strictly do Molly hatchet space them I'm Molly hatchet only copy van and they're touring all over United States I don't know a copy bandit does that hell I don't know only been playing guitar over 60 years
I saw these guys earlier this year.. they kicked ass
Huh?
They are butchering Molly's songs
Good song
We indeed are flirting with disaster
Sorry I have to give them a f # grade
This is Molly hatchet like Taco Bell is authentic Mexican food.
🤣
..awful..
Tony Mikus is awesome !!!
Vince Neil can sure play that guitar.
Ok do they have a different lead singer than this on that is singing now , because I saw a video the other day and it was newer and this is it the same lead singer the o e I saw was much younger

This is just terrible. DJB and the rest of the guys in the original lineup who have passed must be spinning in their graves.
Yes, only a cover band…this is, in no way, not Molly Hatchet…..
That lead singer is awesome!!
Don't know but I believe you never heard Molly hatchet live, with Danny Joe Brown on the Microphon. This was awesome!
Can't hold a candle to Danny he had the perfect voice and soul for this r.i.p.
I agree. It's just a shame he can't sing.
The singer has had his own band for 27 years.. he is the founder of Big Engine from Jacksonville Florida...
It's not a bad tribute band. Better than I expected. Sure do need, at least, another guitarist. He ain't bad but he can't harmonise with himself. 😢
Bobby The Walrus Ingram. Looky my big belley ya'll.
That's rough.
Sam Elliott playing bass now?
That's Freakin Hilarious.
The original members have all went to their reward, and these posers continue to ride on their success;their not even a good cover band, time to let Molly hatchet rest in peace
Talk about beating a dead horse. They should be sued!!!!!
They need another lead guitar or 2.
Who is this singer
Tony Mikus
From Big Engine
A very respected singer and founder of the bad Big Engine.. very nice guy
voice don't fit
@@ingosteffen6610 I agree but how are you gonna ever match Danny Joe Brown or Jimmy Farrar? It's impossible.
Doggie doodoo..this is embarrassing
I love Molly Hatchet. But this is sad.
A disgrace to the band. Not even a good cover band. One guitar???
Wow...they need to stop playing under the name..or do it rite ...
The drummer, with his hair blowing like that, just looks ridiculous!
He loves it!
They are good but Danny Joe Brown fan forever !
Barf Barf Barf
🤣😅😂

William, Elkins or Farrar? I'm assuming Elkins. I don't know.
Exactly my question. What’s going on?

None of them are.

on my birthday
Holy hll! this sucks!
This is bad on so many levels.
Without Danny, this is a cover band. A good one though.
