I’ve done the same path you have. Recently they were in San Diego, where I live. They never disappoint, period. I was running up along the aisles yelling at people to get off their old asses and dance. Every time I see them I go off dancing until the end. I love this band! One of the shows I saw, I got up front and Don came over and slapped a pic in my hand, I thought he was just giving me a high five slap, but once it happened, I opened my hand, and the pic was there. I was blown away. I still bring that same pic to the shows. Cheers
Saw them October in Morristown NJ . . . took my son, he expected to see a bunch of old timers just phoning it in . . . he was blown away . . . they were so polished and professional he couldn't believe it.
I remember this show.luckily it was only about 45 miles from me.wished I could have seen them all in our younger days, but this was still one hell of a show
@@MelvinZoopers Daarn NOW DATS DEDICATION BROTHER..Think i heard them say we had people driving from Tx and Florida seems da whole country drove to see these guys Jam..!! They sold out in less than 24 hours i heard..but was worth the drive from anywhere All out Awesome show nd 2 legendary Bands Jamming us out in the middle of Nowhere..!!
Watch the wonderfully wacky Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick walking behind the drums from :34 to :36. I saw .38 Special live at a good-sized venue in Englewood, New Jersey a couple years ago. They were fantastic and the sold-out audience was rocking! Great musicianship and sound that night. Was thrilled to be there. Show was just under two hours. Don Barnes’ voice sounded better in Englewood than it did in this clip, however. Still love ‘em after all these decades!
Was there..was a hot ass day all yu seen was squeeny eyes due to the sun nd temps but When 38 came on it really fucking cooled dwn making this night amazing as hell and 38 Special made it all worthwhile..!!
Jerry is missing some of those iconic harmonic high notes that Danny and Carlise would nail. That's the 38 Special/Skynyrd sound Jerry, you can't leave that at the door! See timestamp 3:01 and compare to ua-cam.com/video/vJtf7R_oVaw/v-deo.html. Great to hear them still making good noise though.
gee, do you think mr obvious?this is live and 30 plus years later sound great!!seems you would have something to say negative being a crappy ass cubs fan!!!#cubs suck!!!lol
Still crushing over 40 years later! Awesome
luv 38.seen them back in 83 and 6 times since.great band and still sounding great!!!

Such a fantastic band!
Don Barnes and his 38 special brothers telling us that Rock and Roll is not dead !!! Let's go Brandon !!!
Very well said, sir! 👍😎
They sound great!
I'm gonna see them soon. Still cool that Don (lead singer) was in the 1974 lineup. He rejoined in 1992 and is still a founding member too.
He is like 68 in this vid..correct?
Yes & sounding great!
These guys are awesome
Uno dei miei gruppi preferiti .... Peccato non siano più loro...!! Don barnes un grande..!!
Got to keep the dream alive 2023
Couldn’t ask for a better replacement for Jeff than JERRY RIGGS! Amazing player.
You know it Randy Rhoads!
they dont give him enough time to really let "loose" like he did with Travers and Friss :-( - he gets like maybe 16 measures
No way, Chauncey far better, even the guitar tone is off here.

Nice
Not Bad...🎸🎸
not bad?wtf does that mean?they sound great 30 years later!!
who is that drummer ?
not the same without Carlise and Van Zandt
Wish I had a time machine.
@@MelvinZoopers No Doubt
Only one drummer. No Van Zandt, no Carlisi. :(
Gotta take what you can these days.
something aint right here . 2 guitarist ,sounds like a third is playing but I dont see him.
Need Chauncey back, this guy just sounds bad, and too much hair flipping to boot.
their studio version sounds alot better
True, cellphone can't capture sound as good as studio quality recorder.
And they’re outside… lol I was there this night. They kicked ass
no shit lol

No shit, genius. The studio track was released in 1981.
Use lead pick up not neck for lead solo sounds to fat doesn't cut through
