But i remember the triple lead guitars. Swaying back and forth.. after the concert, i went up on stage and stole their song list!!

Another day that the Late Great Danny Jo Brown has inspired me to keep diggin and clawin and fighting my battles....Im sure we all have our battles. Demons and life's struggles..and we all deal with them in different ways...I try to keep my focus on the Lord..but im only human and fall way short of the Glory of God....But I have to remind myself everyday that God let's me see another day...There are many reasons to keep on fighting the fight....Listening to some songs certain ones by certain people really help a lot. Danny Jo Brown is one of those people and this is one of those songs...RIP Danny Jo Brown!!!

Their version easily totals MUCH more than the sum of its parts by an order of magnitude, and is in my Top 10 personal favorite songs of all time. I am a guitar player & I played this song in one of the bands I was in during the late 80s/early 90s. People always loved this song also which made it a nice cover to pull out. I was lucky to have seen Molly Hatchet around 1983 ish. It was at an outdoor show that was an all day event with around 6 bands. The first few bands sucked & most of them I had never heard of but the two major headlining bands were Molly Hatchet & Blue Oyster Cult. I liked both bands but wasn't a huge fan either, but I was still excited to be going to this show. Molly Hatchet was the 5th band to play and then Blue Oyster Cult was the 6 and final band with both bands playing roughly 90 minutes each. Molly Hatchet came on and EPHAN blew me away!! They were so energetic & sounded freaking amazing. I do not say this lightly when I say they blew me away. I did not know what to expect & they delivered much more than I could have ever wished for & gained a major amount of respect for them after seeing them play live. Unfortunately Blue Oyster Cult came out to finish up the concert & they were so horrible!! I was never so disappointed with a live band with the exception of Aerosmith during their bottoming out period with drugs & alcohol on their 1982 tour. Aerosmith was absolutely horrendous, I still feel like Steve Tyler owes me my money back. Once the curtains rose up there stood(sort of) the drunkest 5 guys I have ever seen on stage. Steve was missing entire verses because he was too busy snorting lines & pouring another cup full of jack Daniels for himself. This was the "Rock and A Hard Place" tour when Joe Perry & Brad Whitford left and Jimmy Crespo & Rick Dufay filled in for them. Back to Blue Oyster Cult, they weren't even wasted or on drugs, they were just lazy and not into it at all. They also sounded like crap. That same band I was in also played "Godzilla" as a cover song occasionally so I didn't dislike them. It was very disappointing Molly Hatchet blew away all 5 of the other bands that played at that outdoor festival that day. They should have been the closing headlining act & should have had a longer set as well because they deserved it. I still can't believe how awful BOC was live. They didn't even try to dial in their tone and sound settings & had zero energy acting like they would have rather been anywhere else but on stage. Going to that concert was a last minute decision. it was on a Saturday & I had the weekend off then. An old friend called me and asked me if my soon to be wife & I wanted to go with him and his soon to be wife & I gladly said yes and got tickets the day of the show. It was general admission and we got there early & had excellent seats. Just seeing Molly Hatchet made the entire day worth it. I was so disappointed with BOC that an old friend who was a drummer in a different band I was in offered me a free ticket and ride to see BOC about 4-5 years ago & I respectfully declined the offer. All I could imagine was having to sit through a concert of them phoning in the show and sounding horrible at the same time. Molly Hatchet made my day back in 1983 on that summer afternoon on a Saturday & I have never forgotten how awesome they were. I figured they would be good but they stole the show that day & earned my respect as a musician/guitar player. An additional note about that Aerosmith show. I was front row directly in front of Steve Tyler himself & he kept kicking his cupo of Jack Daniels over getting it on my friends & I. I did not drink that night but did dabble in some other mind altering substances. When I got home my parents checked me at the door and thought I had been drinking thanks to Steve Tyler kickinjg his drinks on me all night. They were like, sure .. that is at least an original excuse/story LOLOL. They eventually came to believe me after seeing him passed out in enough newspapers the following weeks after that show. I was surprised he finished the show, about a week or two later he passed out on stage after 3 songs in Portland, Maine & did the same thing a week later in Worcester, Mass. During those few years I lived on the same street as the venue they played at in NH so I could just walk to those shows and the Joe Perry Project played at this same venue on 6 occasions. I saw all 6 shows he played there before he joined back up with Aerosmith & the Joe Perry Project blew Aerosmith away every time they played there. Joe may have had bottles of jack Daniels on his Marshall stacks but he never missed a beat or note and always brought 100% when he played and sounded awesome as well. It was also a slightly different lineup each time as well which mixed it up and made seeing each show he did there worth it. I still have the ticket stubs from those JPP shows and it only cost $6-$8 dollars to see him live which also made things nice. At the time I saw that worthless Aerosmith show it was the most expensive show I had ever seen. It cost $60 a ticket and I bought 2 tickets because I brought a date. To put that price in perspective only one month later I saw my favorite band "Rush" live on their "Signals" tour and it only cost $22 dollars a ticket and they were amazing, giving 100%++ and were never wasted for a live show. The venue I saw Aerosmith & the Joe Perry Project in, is in NH where the members of Aerosmith own mansions on a lake only about an hour north of Boston. The moral of my mini novel is ..... Aerosmith & Blue Oyster Cult sucked and were horrible live while Rush & Molly Hatchet were Amazing live and proved they respect their fans & probably save their vices for when the show is over. It is never a good sign when the band you are seeing is more wasted than the entire audience who are there to see them is.

It's so sad to think that every last founding member of Molly Hatchet has passed. Steve Holland was the last surviving member who passed 2 yrs ago.
