Tom.. great work and thanks so much.. You said that there is a possible sync issue with OBS. In the case of just recording a video podcast utilizing the ATM and Rodecaster, any ideas on a stand alone sync recorder such as a Atomos or something? I am doing a two camera two mic and would like a final output to edit.
I have tried using 1/4 inch TS mono cables to a 1/8 inch TRS stereo cable and I'm getting nothing out of the Rodecaster. The Blackmagic tech support person I spoke to said the 1/4 inch cable had to be stereo which I can't find.
Tom by default the mic inputs on the ATEM are mic level inputs. Before connecting a line level output (e.g. Rodcaster) you need to go into the ATEM settings and switch the mic input to line level. Failure to do so will result in overdriven audio on the ATEM as you first saw in your video when the meter was pegged red. FYI.
I bought the same red cable that Tom showed in his video for my RCP II and changed the ATEM mic1 to "line". When I stream or record to disk from the ATEM I get a buzzing or humming noise. If I use OBS to stream or record and use the RCP II main as my audio source everything works just fine. So I’m curious, do you have to use a computer to do a livestream with the ATEM & Rodecaster Pro 2 or can’t you just hook up your mics to Rodecaster Pro 2 and cameras to ATEM and stream from there?
I have to give you props on your ability to squeeze so much content out of one piece of gear (the rode procaster), I need to take some notes for my channel. I lost count of how many videos involve that thing but I won't lie, I've watched all of them. I didn't even need to read the hilarious giant manual cards when mine showed up, I already knew everything I needed thanks to these vids. You're killing it man
I'm glad it's helping, and yes, the giant cards are hilarious! It's a real tool that I actually use, so rather than move on to some other thing, I like to show all the different ways this can be utilized.

Haha, I'm so glad to hear this. I didn't realize how much Rode stuff I had until I started making videos about it. It really just sits in that sweet spot of price/features/quality. There are other really great brands out there too of course, but I also like that Rode designs and makes everything themselves in Australia.

you can monitor the sound from the atem software, in the audio tab, also, you have audio meters on the multiview of the pro and pro iso atems you can also sync audio and video with the included delay control in the atem software. to sync the audio and the video in the computer, you can use the sync block in audio hijack

I struggled with the video quality and zoom and all of that good stuff before! After some research and watching several of your videos, my atem is on its way and now I know exactly how I should attach it to my rodecaster! Thank you for all of these videos!! Rode caster pro and canon creator kit alone takes forever to come in with high demand market it’s been 9 weeks since ordered and both plus pro caster mic just arrived. Lots of things are definitely in high demand at the moment. For the M50, I'd recommend checking out Canon's EOS Webcam Utility and seeing if that'll work to help you stream with it.

@@SavvyTurtle I have an M50 and use it with OBS. If you don't have a cam link, (I dont) then all you have to do is download the canon eos Webcam utility from their website. Once you install it, all you have to do is plug your camera into your computer with a micro usb cable and it will show up as a video source. Hope this helps!

Fast forward to today. ATEM Mini Pro has Fairlight, which makes the Rodecaster Pro practically redundant for the audio aspect of a video streaming setup. I would use an iPad into Mic 2, for sound effects on the ATEM. The Rodecaster would be useful for handling mix minus scenarios, however. Just my 2 cents worth. I haven’t checked your channel, but do you use a stream deck as well? I want a seamless way to incorporate motion graphics and a soundboard. If so, how do you like it, and if not, anything else you recommend?
Thanks to your videos I use the Rodecaster and ATEM mini for my live podcasts and they're fantastic! The ATEM mini allows me to toggle camera angels during the show very easily with the push of a button.
@@abdulla9912 I am not sure if this is the answer you're looking for but the Rodecaster connects to my laptop with a USB cable and the ATEM uses an HDMI and USB a-c. If I remember correctly the ATEM did not come with any cables so those I bought separately. I stream live on UA-cam and so I just select the ATEM and Rodecaster for my audio/video when I'm about to go live.
Clapping 👏🏼 at the beginning of a podcast is a good tip for beginners. You can match the audio spike in the video and audio tracks to synch audio with video. 👍🏼

You can switch the MIC-inputs on the ATEM Mini to line-level instead of mic-level, what works best when connecting a mixer like the Rodecaster Pro. Works also with stereo-signals, as far as I remember.
How do you do that? I experience humming and buzz when I connect the phones out of my analogue mixer to the mic input of atem. Is this a ground loop issue or line to mic issue? Appreciate some good advice here. Thank you!
@@colinchew8440 Let me quote the ATEM manual (documents.blackmagicdesign.com/UserManuals/ATEM_Mini_Manual.pdf): " Microphones typically have weaker signals compared to line outputs from other audio devices. This means when mic is selected, the input is boosted slightly to compensate. This also means that if mic is accidentally selected when a line level input is plugged in, the audio will sound unusually loud. If the audio sounds much louder than it should be, check that line is selected instead of mic." The MIC/LINE switch is a bit hidden though: You find it in "Settings > Audio > General" within the ATEM Software Control. Hope this makes sense.
@@colinchew8440 I would try to use the line-out of your mixer instead of the phones-out and switch the ATEM to line. This could help reducing humming and buzz.
XLR output would be neat. I think there's the possibility to add effects with firmware updates. There was reverb in a beta release last summer that was super cool, but it was removed in the final release.

I hadn’t had issues with audio sync until a recent OBS update. I had to actually update my RCP sync to 200ms; it’s super slight I know but still noticeable. I’m thinking it’s with the update though. But I use this exact setup, and love it!
Hey Tom, got myself one of the mini pro's today and hooked it up to the Rodecaster Pro using the 1/4 LR Monitor jack. Took a while to get the audio levels right . One thing that got me stumped for a while was I needed to change the mic1 setting on the mini pro to "line" as the default was "mic". Completed a live stream test and all worked out great. Switching from PC to MAC to Cam1 was nice. Although mini hdmi to hdmi didn't seem to work via the mini pro for Cam 2 :-( Even managed to test Teams, Zoom and some OBS projector output. Wouldn't have done all this without watching your video!!

Great video Tom, I tried different setup with similar equipment as well and I agree with you - audio quality is much better when using the Atem and Rodecaster separately. Love your YT channel :-)
I use them both connected to the MacBook Pro through USB C, with OBS. I usually get between 150 to 200 ms delay on the video so if I delay the audio about that much, it syncs perfectly.

Hello Tom, Please talk through the fact that you can make the ATEM inputs accept "LINE LEVEL" signals rather than the excess gain of the "microphone level" input. This adjustment will greatly improve the sound of the system. Other mixers may have XLR line level outputs and those can also be input to the ATEM with the input set to "LINE LEVEL".
Good point. I'm experimenting with this when using Oktava MK-12 mic into the audio interface, then output from there into the Atem's Input. Then also the input gain in the Atem Mini Software as well as output levels are important.
@@HomesickMac The quality of sound can be improved by setting the gain structure of the system. Setting "LINE LEVEL" output into the line level input rather than placing it into a "microphone level" input with lots of gain. There is another option: Use the two 1/4" in the Røde Rødecaster Pro and attach it to your camera (I use the XLR port on the camera (Panasonic GH5 and X2000)). Then you get the sound feed with your video in on the HDMI port on the ATEM Mini.
Came here to post this. Its the best way to get your audio and video in sync. Keep in mind you are now putting your audio through your camera's preamp.
This only works for xlr. The 3.5mm mic input on the camera will have a high frequent sound as well as its only mic level the xlr adapter on the gh5 can be set to line level.
@@mikaelspetz That’s right. That why I wrote that I use the XLR port on both cameras. On the GH5 you need the sound adapter with XLR of course. The X2000 camcorder has everything built in. I was more pointing out an option without sync issues.
You can see and adjust audio input levels for the ATEM via the ATEM software interface. I just can't seem to get it coming out of the headphones. You can also adjust the limiter and compression...
Another way you can get the audio into the atem is to run the audio through the camera and use the audio/video via hdmi to the atem and then atem usb c to the computer this will help with audio sync.
The easiest direct connection would definitely be to use the monitor outputs on the Rodecaster to the 3.5 input on the ATEM. And the chair is from Ikea 👍

I needed this, to make sure I’m doing it right! Haha. It also seems to make my camera feeds look a little bit better. Thanks so much for introducing me to both of these!
We’re also using the ATEM+RCP. We like to plug each unit directly to the MacBook. But we also use an iPad as our main video source. The iPad runs into the ATEM via an HDMI adapter. Audio from the iPad runs directly into the RCP via the Phone input channel. Then we use OBS to capture and a StreamDeck XL as the main control surface. We also run background music from an iPhone into the RCP via the Bluetooth Chanel. We love this set up as it takes a lot of the workload off the MacBook CPU. The downside is we do get some strange audio interference from the iPad. We’re not sure if it’s the channel or maybe a faulty cable. But with a little background music the interference isn’t noticeable and we can always clean it up a bit more in post. But we would like to eliminate it eventually.
You can handle the syncing for audio/video directly within the ATEM as it has frame delays. I do this and have a preset file setup and configured because the video coming in from my Panasonic GH5 is heavy and the audio always arrives first. Nice thing is that once you set it up, you can just save all of the configuration as a preset file and just load it in when you turn on the ATEM
@@tombuck Unfortunately mine just stoped working reliably today and had to throw it away and drop $500 on a new one, 2 months out of warranty... they told me it would be as much to repair as a replace... argh...

Just awesome videos! Your channel has done so much to help me get a UA-cam channel going. I'm running into one crazy problem though. I have the Rodecaster Pro and Atem Mini Pro each connected to am iMac through two usb-c cables -- and a laptop connected through HDMI to the Atem for playing videos. I see the audio in the audio meter in the Multiview monitor, but no sound from the video. The Zoom software is set to take video from the Atem and the laptop shows it is using the BMD HDMI as as output. I must be missing something! The video is there but viewers can't hear it when we switch to it. (Insert hair-pulling here) 🙂 I do have AFV in use as well.
Hey Gary! This can definitely be a confusing problem. Do you have HDMI set as the audio output for the playback laptop? It might be that there just isn’t an audio signal being sent out. The other tricky part, if I’m understanding correctly, is using audio from the RCP and ATEM simultaneously. Something could be getting left out there. In which case you could just run audio from the laptop through the RCP or even use Loopback to create a virtual audio device that combines the RCP and ATEM. 👍
@@tombuck Hey Thanks for these things to check.! The laptop is showing the HDMI port as the audio output so that looks good. All the mics are going into the RCP via XLR cables and all of the cameras and laptop are going into the Atem via HDM cables. While the video shows in Zoom, it looks as though the audio isn't getting passed. I tried running a cable from the RCP headphone jack to Mic 1 on the Atem (and unplugged the USB from the RCP) with no luck. I feel like I'm so close ........ having that flummoxed feeling ..... as in my flux capacitors are on the blink. By the way, I''m hoping Blackmagic Its watching and adds a power button like you said. I mean, c'mon ....... going to use what you mentioned in the video to do the power on/off thing.
I was going to say, the ATEM has a pretty capable audio processing engine built in, it’d be fun to see how you got on running something like the VideoMic NTG directly into the ATEM alongside your video sources.
So many connection options! So if the RCP and the ATEM mini EACH have their USB-c connection to the laptop, then the ATEM mini is only being used for the multi-camera feature? That makes the most sense to separate the 2 devices- audio and video-- to manage.
Great video. IMHO The second approach is the right way. Connect the two devices to your computer. In the first approach, you are sending a line level signal (headphone out) to a mic level input on the atem mini... This will bring up noise and hiss. Line level signals should not be sent to a mic level input if you have other options.
Nice lecture! Great picture quality! The audio quality is also very satisfactory. The camera's performance is also good, but it seems that the quality of the lighting determines the quality of the video. Next, I would like to ask for the whole process of video recording. Thanks Christian! I've never used Wirecast, but you shouldn't have any issues. I do typically prefer to run each device into the computer separately through USB, but of course as this video explains, you can run everything through the ATEM.

I don't know how often they'll update them- but the ATEM Mini Pro and ISO are two higher end (and more expensive) versions that offer more features than the basic version I have.
@@tombuck Thanks for the reply! I believe those upper ends Atem models are overkill for my needs. It's a bit cumbersome to do multi-cam using OBS. I have a software called "MultiCam Capture" but that's very finicky and sometimes exhibits latency lag. I sometimes use Logitech Capture software to use my 2 different Logitech 4K Brio and Logitech C922 webcams, one camera is front facing and other is top down to show stuff on my desk for product reviews. The Logitech Capture app can toggle between both camera views easily plus can include a 3rd view of whatever is showing on my desktop screen. It works but obviously these are not pro grade cameras, they are webcams, LOL! As you can tell, I've definitely toyed around with variations of doing multi-cam setup of my own. I probably should have just started out getting the Atem Mini and be done with it by now, haha!
I'm VERY interested in what Zoom has to offer, but I don't have access to the P8 and I always feel uneasy about buying unnecessary equipment solely for reviews (I prefer to just buy what I need at the time).
Yeah, it can definitely be overwhelming. When it comes to Zoom classes and stuff, I always. recommend starting with audio. Even a simple USB mic can make an absolute world of difference. From there you can move on to cameras, lights, etc.

It really depends on what you need. The basics were fine for me, so I went with the simplest version. The Pro is great is you need multiview, and the ISO is great if you need all the bells and whistles.
The BEST BEST? Rodecaster running into Ecamm live, with each camera on it's own capture card so that it shows up as a separate video source and then you can set them to switch automatically 👍

So I’m curious, do you have to use a computer to do a livestream with the ATEM & Rodecaster Pro 2 or can’t you just hook up your mics to Rodecaster Pro 2 and cameras to ATEM and stream from there?
I have to give you props on your ability to squeeze so much content out of one piece of gear (the rode procaster), I need to take some notes for my channel. I lost count of how many videos involve that thing but I won't lie, I've watched all of them. I didn't even need to read the hilarious giant manual cards when mine showed up, I already knew everything I needed thanks to these vids. You're killing it man
I'm glad it's helping, and yes, the giant cards are hilarious! It's a real tool that I actually use, so rather than move on to some other thing, I like to show all the different ways this can be utilized.

Haha, I'm so glad to hear this. I didn't realize how much Rode stuff I had until I started making videos about it. It really just sits in that sweet spot of price/features/quality. There are other really great brands out there too of course, but I also like that Rode designs and makes everything themselves in Australia.

I struggled with the video quality and zoom and all of that good stuff before! Rode caster pro and canon creator kit alone takes forever to come in with high demand market it’s been 9 weeks since ordered and both plus pro caster mic just arrived. Still waiting on the atem mini and elgato stream deck to come in. Lots of things are definitely in high demand at the moment. For the M50, I'd recommend checking out Canon's EOS Webcam Utility and seeing if that'll work to help you stream with it.

@@SavvyTurtle I have an M50 and use it with OBS. If you don't have a cam link, (I dont) then all you have to do is download the canon eos Webcam utility from their website. Once you install it, all you have to do is plug your camera into your computer with a micro usb cable and it will show up as a video source. Hope this helps!

Fast forward to today. ATEM Mini Pro has Fairlight, which makes the Rodecaster Pro practically redundant for the audio aspect of a video streaming setup. I would use an iPad into Mic 2, for sound effects on the ATEM. The Rodecaster would be useful for handling mix minus scenarios, however. Just my 2 cents worth. Thanks for all your excellent videos, by the way.

I haven’t checked your channel, but do you use a stream deck as well? I want a seamless way to incorporate motion graphics and a soundboard. If so, how do you like it, and if not, anything else you recommend?
Thanks to your videos I use the Rodecaster and ATEM mini for my live podcasts and they're fantastic! The ATEM mini allows me to toggle camera angels during the show very easily with the push of a button.

@@abdulla9912 I am not sure if this is the answer you're looking for but the Rodecaster connects to my laptop with a USB cable and the ATEM uses an HDMI and USB a-c. If I remember correctly the ATEM did not come with any cables so those I bought separately. I stream live on UA-cam and so I just select the ATEM and Rodecaster for my audio/video when I'm about to go live.

You can switch the MIC-inputs on the ATEM Mini to line-level instead of mic-level, what works best when connecting a mixer like the Rodecaster Pro. Works also with stereo-signals, as far as I remember.

How do you do that? I experience humming and buzz when I connect the phones out of my analogue mixer to the mic input of atem. Is this a ground loop issue or line to mic issue? Appreciate some good advice here. Thank you!
@@colinchew8440 Let me quote the ATEM manual (documents.blackmagicdesign.com/UserManuals/ATEM_Mini_Manual.pdf): " Microphones typically have weaker signals compared to line outputs from other audio devices. This means when mic is selected, the input is boosted slightly to compensate. This also means that if mic is accidentally selected when a line level input is plugged in, the audio will sound unusually loud. If the audio sounds much louder than it should be, check that line is selected instead of mic."
The MIC/LINE switch is a bit hidden though: You find it in "Settings > Audio > General" within the ATEM Software Control.
Hope this makes sense.
@@colinchew8440 I would try to use the line-out of your mixer instead of the phones-out and switch the ATEM to line. This could help reducing humming and buzz.
@@pmontube there’s a line out but the xlr gets cut away when I use that. I need sound out for my live audience.
I just wished the Rodecaster Pro Had XLR Outs and On Board Effects Like Reverb, Chorus, Etc. Then I would have Considered Buying It!
XLR output would be neat. I think there's the possibility to add effects with firmware updates. There was reverb in a beta release last summer that was super cool, but it was removed in the final release.

I hadn’t had issues with audio sync until a recent OBS update. I had to actually update my RCP sync to 200ms; it’s super slight I know but still noticeable. I’m thinking it’s with the update though. But I use this exact setup, and love it!

Hey Tom, got myself one of the mini pro's today and hooked it up to the Rodecaster Pro using the 1/4 LR Monitor jack. Took a while to get the audio levels right . One thing that got me stumped for a while was I needed to change the mic1 setting on the mini pro to "line" as the default was "mic".
Completed a live stream test and all worked out great. Switching from PC to MAC to Cam1 was nice. Although mini hdmi to hdmi didn't seem to work via the mini pro for Cam 2 :-(
Even managed to test Teams, Zoom and some OBS projector output. Wouldn't have done all this without watching your video!!

You do not have any sync issues either? I have to use Audio Hijack to make it work
I use them both connected to the MacBook Pro through USB C, with OBS. I usually get between 150 to 200 ms delay on the video so if I delay the audio about that much, it syncs perfectly.

Hello Tom,
Please talk through the fact that you can make the ATEM inputs accept "LINE LEVEL" signals rather than the excess gain of the "microphone level" input. This adjustment will greatly improve the sound of the system. Other mixers may have XLR line level outputs and those can also be input to the ATEM with the input set to "LINE LEVEL".
This is true and and important thing to keep in mind, thanks for the reminder!
Good point. I'm experimenting with this when using Oktava MK-12 mic into the audio interface, then output from there into the Atem's Input. Then also the input gain in the Atem Mini Software as well as output levels are important.
@@HomesickMac The quality of sound can be improved by setting the gain structure of the system. Setting "LINE LEVEL" output into the line level input rather than placing it into a "microphone level" input with lots of gain. You might like to visit the RANE discussion of gain structure in this link.

There is another option: Use the two 1/4" in the Røde Rødecaster Pro and attach it to your camera (I use the XLR port on the camera (Panasonic GH5 and X2000)). Then you get the sound feed with your video in on the HDMI port on the ATEM Mini.

Came here to post this. Its the best way to get your audio and video in sync. Keep in mind you are now putting your audio through your camera's preamp.
This only works for xlr. The 3.5mm mic input on the camera will have a high frequent sound as well as its only mic level the xlr adapter on the gh5 can be set to line level.
@@mikaelspetz That’s right. That why I wrote that I use the XLR port on both cameras. On the GH5 you need the sound adapter with XLR of course. The X2000 camcorder has everything built in.
I was more pointing out an option without sync issues.

You can see and adjust audio input levels for the ATEM via the ATEM software interface. I just can't seem to get it coming out of the headphones. You can also adjust the limiter and compression...

Another way you can get the audio into the atem is to run the audio through the camera and use the audio/video via hdmi to the atem and then atem usb c to the computer this will help with audio sync.

The easiest direct connection would definitely be to use the monitor outputs on the Rodecaster to the 3.5 input on the ATEM.

Good info. Best audio was from red cable or with two USB. That headset is logical for audio sync, but it do not sound nice.

Hi Tom, does the Rode Stream X can do what ATM Mini do for video?
We’re also using the ATEM+RCP. We like to plug each unit directly to the MacBook. But we also use an iPad as our main video source. The iPad runs into the ATEM via an HDMI adapter. Audio from the iPad runs directly into the RCP via the Phone input channel. Then we use OBS to capture and a StreamDeck XL as the main control surface. We also run background music from an iPhone into the RCP via the Bluetooth Chanel.
We love this set up as it takes a lot of the workload off the MacBook CPU. The downside is we do get some strange audio interference from the iPad. We’re not sure if it’s the channel or maybe a faulty cable. But with a little background music the interference isn’t noticeable and we can always clean it up a bit more in post. But we would like to eliminate it eventually.

You can handle the syncing for audio/video directly within the ATEM as it has frame delays. I do this and have a preset file setup and configured because the video coming in from my Panasonic GH5 is heavy and the audio always arrives first. Nice thing is that once you set it up, you can just save all of the configuration as a preset file and just load it in when you turn on the ATEM
The ATEM software really is quite powerful and customizeable!
I also use the ATEM as my "goto" travel device because it's so much more portable than the Rodecaster... for audio recordings on the road...
@@tombuck Unfortunately mine just stoped working reliably today and had to throw it away and drop $500 on a new one, 2 months out of warranty... they told me it would be as much to repair as a replace... argh...

Just awesome videos! Your channel has done so much to help me get a UA-cam channel going. I'm running into one crazy problem though. I have the Rodecaster Pro and Atem Mini Pro each connected to am iMac through two usb-c cables -- and a laptop connected through HDMI to the Atem for playing videos. I see the audio in the audio meter in the Multiview monitor, but no sound from the video. The Zoom software is set to take video from the Atem and the laptop shows it is using the BMD HDMI as as output. I must be missing something! The video is there but viewers can't hear it when we switch to it. (Insert hair-pulling here) 🙂 I do have AFV in use as well.

This can definitely be a confusing problem. Do you have HDMI set as the audio output for the playback laptop? It might be that there just isn’t an audio signal being sent out.
The other tricky part, if I’m understanding correctly, is using audio from the RCP and ATEM simultaneously. Something could be getting left out there. In which case you could just run audio from the laptop through the RCP or even use Loopback to create a virtual audio device that combines the RCP and ATEM. 👍
@@tombuck Hey Thanks for these things to check.! The laptop is showing the HDMI port as the audio output so that looks good. All the mics are going into the RCP via XLR cables and all of the cameras and laptop are going into the Atem via HDM cables. While the video shows in Zoom, it looks as though the audio isn't getting passed. I tried running a cable from the RCP headphone jack to Mic 1 on the Atem (and unplugged the USB from the RCP) with no luck. I feel like I'm so close ........ having that flummoxed feeling ..... as in my flux capacitors are on the blink. By the way, I''m hoping Blackmagic Its watching and adds a power button like you said. I mean, c'mon ....... going to use what you mentioned in the video to do the power on/off thing.
Hey Tom, any suggestions for cleaning the surface of the RCP?
I use a microfiber cloth with Invisible Glass. I know it's intended to cleaning glass, but it works great on most electronics too.
I was going to say, the ATEM has a pretty capable audio processing engine built in, it’d be fun to see how you got on running something like the VideoMic NTG directly into the ATEM alongside your video sources.
I did that when I first got it and it worked great. I just wanted to add the Rodecaster for more sources plus ridiculous sound effects.

So many connection options! So if the RCP and the ATEM mini EACH have their USB-c connection to the laptop, then the ATEM mini is only being used for the multi-camera feature? That makes the most sense to separate the 2 devices- audio and video-- to manage.
Yes- that's what I really do most of the time to keep things clean.
Great video. IMHO The second approach is the right way. Connect the two devices to your computer. In the first approach, you are sending a line level signal (headphone out) to a mic level input on the atem mini... This will bring up noise and hiss. Line level signals should not be sent to a mic level input if you have other options.
The ATEM does have a line level option on the mic input. (via the software), but I still agree that connecting them separately seems to work best.

I especially want to see photos or videos with lighting. Thanks for the link to buy amazon lighting. I want to see the location of the lights I'm actually using. The picture quality is very good.

Thanks Christian! I've never used Wirecast, but you shouldn't have any issues. I do typically prefer to run each device into the computer separately through USB, but of course as this video explains, you can run everything through the ATEM.

Hi Tom, great video, 2 thumbs and 2 toes up! I'm sorely tempted to get an Atem Mini for my own multi cam setup. Should I wait for the next updated version since I don't have an immediate need?
I don't know how often they'll update them- but the ATEM Mini Pro and ISO are two higher end (and more expensive) versions that offer more features than the basic version I have.
@@tombuck Thanks for the reply! I believe those upper ends Atem models are overkill for my needs. It's a bit cumbersome to do multi-cam using OBS. I have a software called "MultiCam Capture" but that's very finicky and sometimes exhibits latency lag. I sometimes use Logitech Capture software to use my 2 different Logitech 4K Brio and Logitech C922 webcams, one camera is front facing and other is top down to show stuff on my desk for product reviews. The Logitech Capture app can toggle between both camera views easily plus can include a 3rd view of whatever is showing on my desktop screen. It works but obviously these are not pro grade cameras, they are webcams, LOL! As you can tell, I've definitely toyed around with variations of doing multi-cam setup of my own. I probably should have just started out getting the Atem Mini and be done with it by now, haha!
Tom, how about a video on the new Zoom Podtrak P8 to use for Live Streaming or... Zoom P8 versus Rodecaster Pro. No one has done these topics. Thanks!
I'm VERY interested in what Zoom has to offer, but I don't have access to the P8 and I always feel uneasy about buying unnecessary equipment solely for reviews (I prefer to just buy what I need at the time).

Yeah, it can definitely be overwhelming. When it comes to Zoom classes and stuff, I always. recommend starting with audio. Even a simple USB mic can make an absolute world of difference. From there you can move on to cameras, lights, etc.

The Rodecaster just connects via USB and will show up automatically as an audio source. Super simple! 👍
ATEM Mini, Mini Pro< or Mini Pro ISO. Which would you suggest. Will be using for Podcasts & UA-cam in studio interviews. Thanks in advanced. Great Ch. to by the way.
It really depends on what you need. The basics were fine for me, so I went with the simplest version. The Pro is great is you need multiview, and the ISO is great if you need all the bells and whistles.

Tom. What would be the BEST method for video podcasting with 2-3 cameras and possibly a PC ? And syncing audio.
The BEST BEST? Rodecaster running into Ecamm live, with each camera on it's own capture card so that it shows up as a separate video source and then you can set them to switch automatically 👍
