I will be building the Lennie Pond model soon. I live in Richmond Virginia where Lennie Pond lived after his NASCAR career and I got to know him. He actually installed an engine in my mom’s T-Bird. He was very nice to my family and was a class act.
Hi there, you got the wet dream of every car kit builder and/or collector! ;--) About 2010, where I started (with the age of 23), there were no youtube videos about plastic model kits, I wondered. I love all the vintage original kits and the right re-issues. I'm living in Switzerland, so it's quite expensive for me to get kits from the U.S. That's why I got also a lot of kits from Japan, Europe and so on. I you guys got interests, let me know, and I'll post smt about my collection and or chosen kits!
I just stocked up on a few. Your videos got me inspired to start building again. I'm a huge early 80s NASCAR fan. Now if someone could make an early 80s 1/24 Malibu so I can make a Dave Marcis '82 Martinsville winner...
Nice idea you have bestowed upon us. I have several NASCAR kits is my stash, but not that many Fords. Guess I need to look for Fords at the model shows. At model shows I see 80’s and 90’s NASCAR kits for around $10.00. Thanks for sharing.
wow cool was just thinking about moking up the 72 lagona body/nascar chassis as i have several old nascars just sitting around 😁🤩thanks for sharing have a merry christmas 🤗
Funny timing, as I was just think about this video recently and was going to go back to watch it again soon (soon as I get a couple group build projects done) because I've picked up some decals from Mike's and was wanting to do a couple of these soon. Thanks for bringing it back, Matt, and Merry Christmas to you and yours 🎅✌️
I have been away from model building for 20 - 30 years. One the "demo" chassis, what is the purpose of the clear hose that extends from the fuel cell to the driver's compartment (or so it seems)? Thanks.
Im interested in building a stock 76/77 malibu/chevelle. I think this lenny pond body will probably get me close. But I haven't seen anything with the correct grill. (Stacked headlights) I imagine I can use a couple kits to get what Im looking for but I dont really know whats widely available that would be the best as far as interior Was wondering if you had any recommendations to pull this off?
I have been attempting this build. While the wheel base is a good fit. Holy smokes the bird cage does not fit well at all. The cage and the dashboard area need to be lowered significantly. There is a lot to pulling that one off. Not to mention the gigantic wheel openings that need to be closed in. 😊
Thanks, Luka Cee! I learned something today!

Thanks for the reboot - I appreciate this, my first LP kit is on it's way and hope to snag a couple for other work ups.

Thank you and the same to you and yours.
I love the history lesson on the way of chassis. Thanks Luka! Merry Christmas!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. Thanks!
Cool 👍
Question Luka would that thunderbird chassy fit, and be correct for the bobby allison AMC Matador
I don't think that the AMC had a Banjo chassis. But I can't see why it wouldn't work. I have never tried it.
Git the boys from Salvinos to send u a Olds kit for the chassis. I heard that also works well.
Watch out for dem Copyright fella's, they gonna git ya.
I used the Salvino's Oldsmobile chassis.
That's a great option also. Much better than the chassis in that Malibu kit.
