Yes. Do More. I just found this channel. I love this sort of thing. My NASCAR chassis knowledge ends in around the early to mid-90s. I learned a bit about the more "modern" chassis, from this video. Very interesting.
This is the stuff I love. I seriously cannot put into words how much I love these types of videos. Most people just rehash the same stuff. I want to know more about EVERYTHING. I want the history on every piece. I want the stories! I love this. Thank you so much!
I enjoyed this video very much. I have been hooked on NASCAR since I was in the military and stationed in Virginia in 1965. I was from the west coast and I had only watched midgets, sprinters and modifieds up until that time. Your history of behind the scenes of NASCAR is one of few channels like this. Keep up the good work! 😎 🏁
Absolutely (share all the Graveyard Vids you can), and keep the Great Content coming! It's always fascinating to see what becomes of these Cars after the fact.
It was sad seeing that John Wes Townley truck sitting there rotting away. I liked those Zaxby's paint schemes. Such a shame that John went downhill and tried to kill his ex wife. I am glad he didn't succeed but I am sad he had to die in order for her to live. Thank you for showing this NASCAR chassis graveyard to us!
Oh yes keep these videos coming. I found your channel with JJC's auction and after watching this one I sure learned alot and find them very interesting. Great video and you got a new subscriber. Thanks.
This is awesome. Great video. Do you know where I could find an 80s monte carlo or Buick Regal stock Car chassis in the Mooresville or surrounding areas
@@stockcarsurplus I'm all ears. I live in Statesville and looking to build a classic stock Car based SCCA car. I have a 86 Olds 442 for car shows and a 83 and 85 monte carlo to build 1 good race car off of but would love an old school nascar chassis
Excellent vid. A question; @1:15 you're saying something i can't quite make out. Sounds like you're saying..."They're beyond the ability to go back thru the "Robert Arm" ? or maybe "Romeron" ? Please clarify. I eat this stuff up,every detail.

Awesome video! Love learning about the different chassis. Do you know who made RCI chassis? I purchased a used truck chassis and it has RCI stamped in the cross bar.

Love seeing the old history of nascar. Most people don't get to see/ know the cool factory of the old cars

Other then the added bars is there any other chassis differences between a short track and super speedway car?
No, the basic chassis architecture is all the same.

The area behind MIS has a mini graveyard of cars that have been written off over the years. Last time I was there there was a David Regan UPS COT.
👍
That's pretty cool that those chassis are used for training just like junk cars for normal fire departments.
Indeed they are, many of the sanctioned Cup tracks have yards similar to this on site.
Love seeing old chassis
👍
So what kind of pedal mount does the Roush chassis's use.
They used several different styles throughout the years, depending on driver preference.

It was "Romer Arm" an instrument that's part of a larger CMM setup.
It measures the chassis for tolerance when NASCAR inspects them at the R&D Center.

Could one go out and buy a part of one of those? Looking for part of the driver door frame with the window net attachments

@@stockcarsurplus I was afraid of that haha, wonder what would the best route to get part of a chassis like that would be.
We absolutely need more of these, is there a way to find out who and what race all of those chassis are from? The JRM one in particular lol
There are several ways to figure it out resources.
That Thurston trailer looks like it's from Maximum Overdrive
👍
That’s awesome I just looked at that and was like I know that trailer! My fav movie
That Thurston trailer looks like the one from maximum overdrive good movie and tunes
One of the all time greats !
That old zaxbys truck I'd love to know the history behind looks like it had a interesting story wish that and the 48 frame were being saved!😢

Did you happen to notice the modified chassis’s that he forgot to mention?
Is that the Thurston semi trailer from Maximum Overdrive in the beginning?
Similar, but not "the" one.
@@stockcarsurplus ah ok. See that was immediately the first thing that came to mind when I saw it.

They're gone now.
Also, would a video explaining the differences between a gen 4 cup chassis and a 105” Busch chassis, as in where the length is lost, etc
Great idea! It's definitely something to consider!

SS Greenlight chassis was 709 gray gaulding drove in Bristol 2020
It's definitely not going to make it back to Bristol.

Why not sell the fiberglass parts? How are they usable? The 43 Petty team rear bumper cover should sell. Not sure what else there is in the pile.
👍
I'd love to have one of those chassis to use in dirt track ! Would be perfect for factory stock or outlaw class
👍
What about some of the sheet metal off the cars? Also it’d be cool to see these on google maps what scrap yards are these in
None of it's for sale at this time.
Plot twist, they are all Hendrick cars lol 😅

Unfortunately no, they will prosecute if you're caught stealing.
Would like to see what happens to old obsolete chassis. Like driver experiences and other usages. Interested in the bodies and engines.
👍
Bodies get cut up an sold for souvenirs, Racing Warehouse is a good place to start otherwise most teams will also sell old pieces.

@@stevengillespie1028 Not sure, all of the Childress cars I've owned were RCR or RHE.
My aunt has a Superstock complete on the car trailer that hasn't moved in 30 years on the farm. I always dreamed of doing something with it
I hope you're able to save it!
What's the green house mean on a racecar?
It's the roof area from the door tops up to include the A / B / C post and roof skin.
Could any of them be used again for local racing or made into a show car. The truck and car on the container did not look to bad.
They could, but it wouldn't be very cost effective.
Why are they just left at the track ? Why didn't the team take the chassis with them ?
No, these were donated well after the race season was over.
How's that Dodge truck working out for you ? Been pretty dependable ?
It's been awesome, no major issues.
Regular maintenance and service, 12 years and 257k miles it's still going strong.
@@stockcarsurplus what year is it ?
It's a 2013 I bought in August of 2012.

I certainly believe so.
