  • You complained about the lack of Ford Capri content in 2021 & I've listened! I already have plenty of videos planned for the New Year - stuff that needs fixing, modifications for the track, and even some purely aesthetic bits to give the car a fresh look in 2022. Take a sneak peak at what's coming up in the first quarter of 2022.
    The car in the video is my 1978 Ford Capri running a Modified 2.0 Pinto Engine. If Classic Cars are your thing, check out this playlist. Maintenance, Tech Tips, Track Days, it's all here:

    MX5 isn’t my thing, but I still enjoy watching your videos on the upgrades though as it’s very well done. Love the Capri stuff as I’m an old school Ford guy. All of your uploads are very interesting so keep it up! Got the same super lites on my Escort and they look so cool 😎

      Not too bad thanks - have the car completely stripped to the bare shell and on a spit, one side is completely finished metal work wise, new full sill, new rear corner, inner and outer, new a post, wing rail and wing and front panel repaired. Soon to be flipped over to do the next side.. more work than I anticipated but should be good when it’s all completed.

    Great to see videos of capri again. I also like other things you do. Your videos have been very helpful to me, such as valve adjustments and valve stem replacement. You explain things so clearly. I have a 78 model mk3 2.0 pinto originally 1.6l and lot of work ahead. Have a nice christmas time.😁

      Great to hear! Thankyou. 78, same year as mine. Is yours a bit of a mish mash of mk2 & 3 parts like mine??

      @@FastRust it is. I have an early 1978 model. What's special is that it has ordered when it was a new: GT instrument cluster, rear spoiler and sunroof. Although the 1.6L is on the basic instrument cluster. I do not care the sunroof, but for the time being it must be in it when it is installed in it from the factory. 🙂

    Love your videos and looking forward to seeing the work being done.
    As a young capri owner myself I really value your tech tip/walk through videos of you completing work on the car. I'm about to start working on mine for the first time and would appreciate a tech tip video on jacking points on the car, I've seen in the Haynes manual that it points out that the outriggers are jacking points but a friend of mine said they aren't structural so was debating how to Jack the car up.

    • @FastRust
      @FastRust  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Alex. When I'm next filming with the Capri I'll do a quick video and go through jacking points. Handy time to do it as it's already on stands.

      Thanks for the sub! In the middle of editing some Capri related videos it'll be featured again soon 👍🏻 Always wanted a mk2 Escort ever since my uncle told me stories about his. Sadly by the time I was in a position to own one they were too much money! Hence the Capri. One day maybe..

    Awesome to see the capri back, these videos are a life saver man ! May I ask what roll cage you are using,is it homemade or is there a specific halfcage that fits the capri off the shelf ? Thanks !

    • @FastRust
      @FastRust  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks, good to be working on it again. The half cage I got from Weichers in Germany. There was a huge delay on one from Safety Devices at the time so I went with them instead. It's not a fantastic off-the-shelf fit but it does the job, & I welded in a bar for the harnesses.

    Great to see the Capri again!! Will be great to see these modifications in the future. Are you keeping the banded wheels? I'm still trying to figure out what to swap my wheels out for (either banded or slot mags). While we're talking old Fords, do you know of any good regular northern meets? i'm moving back up to Manchester next year and hoping to find somewhere to go in my old Capri.

    • @FastRust
      @FastRust  2 роки тому +1

      Hey mate. You're moving to Mancs! Not far from me at all. I'll give Leeds Capri Club a shout and see what shows etc they've got lined up for 2022. To be honest I haven't done much in the Capri this year, shows or otherwise so lost touch a bit. As for the banded steels I haven't made my mind up. Possibly in the New Year. Will let you know 👍🏻

      @@FastRust that would be great re shows and wheels mate! I can understand with the mx5 that you haven’t had time for the Capri. Definitely going to miss the car meets down here. I’m trying my best to get the Capri finished so I have something to run around in in Manc 😂I swapped all the front suspension now it’s wandering around over 40mph after tracking, could do with a clutch too.
